MMU Solan offers direct admission to some of the programmes based on their merit. Candidates seeking admission in BSc, BVoc, MSc, Diploma and value-added courses are selected based on their qualifying exam scores. Once selected, aspirants have to participate in counselling and seat allotment process. Aspirants also have to confirm their seat by paying the course fee.

MMU Solan offers admission to candidates based on their merit or entrance exam scores. The university conducts entrance tests for admission to PhD, BSc Nursing and GNM programmes. MMU also accepts NEET and NEET PG scores for admission to MBBS and MD/ MS courses, respectively. For all other courses, selection is based on qualifying exam scores of the candidates. The requirement for NEET depends on the course applied by the candidates. MMU Solan considers NEET-UG scores for admission to MBBS programme whereas, NEET-PG scores is required for MD and MS courses. Aspirants with a valid NEET score need to participate in centralised counselling conducted by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. Those who are allotted seat need to pay the course fee.
