NEET PG 2026 date will be announced by NBE. The exam is expected to be held in the first or second week of August 2026. NEET PG 2026 exam date will be announced by NBE. Exam date along with other crucial details are uploaded with information brochure. NBE is expected to conduct exam in August 2026. Students have to do online registration first to access and submit NEET PG application form. Registration can be done at nbe.edu.in once registration link gets activated. NEET PG exam is held in computer-based mode. It must be noted NBE will not accept offline or any other mode of application for NEET PG 2026. Students are advised to read application brochure carefuly to understand elligibility criteria before applying online for exam.

NEET PG 2026 Latest Updates 

NBE has not announced date yet, though it has released tentative schedule for other exams including NEET MDS 2026, FMGE, FET etc. Students still wonder why NEET PG 2026 tentative date was not announced. From last two years, NBE doesn't able to hold NEET PG exam on scheduled date. Due to many reasons, exam date has to be postponed. In 2025 and 2024, exam dates were extended from June to August. Keeping this in mind, NBE aims to announce NEET PG 2026 date in last moment when it becomes pretty sure that no postponement will take place.

Q:   How many candidates appear for NEET PG?
A:

Around 2 Lakh candidates appear for NEET PG every year. The number varies every year. Around 2.40 lakh candidates had appeared in NEET PG 2025 exam. A total of 2,28,540 candidates appeared for the NEET PG 2024 exam. In NEET PG 2023, around 2,06,541 candidates appeared for the exam. NEET PG 2025 exam was held on August 3 and result was announced on August 19, 2025.

Q:   How many times can we appear for NEET PG?
A:

Candidates can appear for as many times as they want. There is no cap on the number of attempts in NEET PG exam. As per the experts, candidates may appear twice for the exam to improve the score or to do away mistakes in the first attempt. NEET PG exam is held in computer-based mode. Candidates who qualify the exam with the minimum cut off can participate in the counselling process. They have to register and declare choice for college to participate in the seat allocation process. 

Q:   Can I apply offline for NEET PG?
A:

No. Candidates will have to register on the official website for NEET PG exam and submit application form. Offline and other mode of application will not be accepted. NBE, the exam conducting body will be releasing the application form online. Candidates will have to complete registration first to submit application form. NEET PG 2025 application form was released on  April17, 2025. 

 NEET PG 2026 Dates

From last two years, NBE has been postponing original NEET PG date. In 2025, exam was scheduled for June 15, but postponed to August 3, 2025. Similarly, in 2024, the exam was postponed from June 23 to August 11, 2024. Check the table given below for tentative NEET PG 2026 dates:

NEET PG 2026 Registration/ Application form

NEET PG 2026 application form will be released online. The application process will begin most likely in March 2026. Candidates will have to register at official website, nbe.edu.in or natboard.edu.in to submit NEET PG application form 2026. To complete registration, candidates must have valid email Id and mobile number. Login credentials will be generated after successful NEET PG 2026 registration. Candidates will have to pay online application fee of INR 3,500 for general category and INR 2500 for reserved category for NEET PG 2026.

Steps to complete NEET PG 2025 application form process

  • Visit the official website, nbe.edu.in and select NEET PG

  • Click on application link and select registration

  • Enter details such as name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, nationality etc

  • A login ID and password will be sent after successful registration

  • Login with user ID and fill application form

  • Enter personal and academic details and selected centre

  • Pay online exam fee to complete the application form

NEET PG 2026 Syllabus

Q:   How many attempts are allowed in NEET PG?
A:

NBE, the exam conducting body has not specified any limit regarding number of attempts in NEET PG exam. At the same time, there is no age limit for the exam. Candidates can appear as many times as they want in their prusuit of postgraduate medical courses. Candidates are advised to check the official information brochure, comprising the eligibility criteria and other crucial details related to exam.

Q:   Can I appear in regional language for NEET PG exam?
A:

No, you cannot appear in regional language in NEET PG exam. According to the NEET PG pattern, the examination is conducted in the English language only. All aspirants must refer to the question papers of previous years for NEET PG 2025 preparation. The examination will be held online (computer-based) at allocated centres across the country. A total of 200 multiple choice questions will be asked in the exam and candidates will get 3.5 hours to answer them.

Q:   I got 535 marks in NEET PG. Will I get government college?
A:

500 plus marks is considered a decent score in NEET PG  exam. If a candidate score 535 marks that means his/her rank will be somewhere around 1000-2000. With that score, there is a chance to get admission in government college. Good score also depends on difficulty level of the question paper. If the question paper is difficult then cut off will be low. In 2023-24 session, general category cut off was 291 while the cut off for SC/ST was 257. Overall 500 plus marks will enable you to get admission in good college for PG course.

NBE doesn’t release word by word NEET PG syllabus. Candidates can refer the syllabus referred by Medical Council of India. NEET PG syllabus 2026 mainly comprises subjects covered in MBBS course, I.e pre clinical, para clinical and clinical subjects. The syllabus comprise around 15 subjects mainly anatomy, physiology, biochemistry etc

NEET PG 2026 Pattern

NEET PG 2026 pattern will be released along with the official information brochure. The exam pattern comprises details including mode, medium of exam, total number of question and their type, marking scheme etc. As per the existing pattern of NEET PG, the exam will be held in computer-based mode. A total of 200 multiple choice questions will be asked and candidates will get 3.5 hours to answer them. There is a provision of negative marking in NEET PG exam. NBE might release NEET PG question paper and answer key.
