NEET PG 2026 exam date will be announced by NBE. The exam is expected to be held in the first or second week of August 2026. NBE will release NEET PG 2026 dates and details along with the official information brochure online. Candidates will have to register at nbe.edu.in to submit application form for NEET PG 2026.

NEET PG 2026: NBE will announce NEET PG 2026 date online. The exam will be held tentatively in August 2026. National Board of Examinations (NBE) will release NEET PG 2026 application form online. Candidates will have to register first to submit application form NEET PG. Registration can be done at official website, nbe.edu.in. It must be noted, only online application form will be accepted for NEET PG 2026. Offline or any other mode to submit NEET PG application form will not be accepted. NEET PG 2026 dates and crucial details including eligibility criteria, application process, exam pattern etc will be released along with the official information brochure.

 NEET PG 2026 Dates

Q:   How many candidates appear for NEET PG?
A:

Around 2 Lakh candidates appear for NEET PG every year. The number varies every year. Around 2.40 lakh candidates had appeared in NEET PG 2025 exam. A total of 2,28,540 candidates appeared for the NEET PG 2024 exam. In NEET PG 2023, around 2,06,541 candidates appeared for the exam. NEET PG 2025 exam was held on August 3 and result was announced on August 19, 2025.

Q:   Can I opt for Hindi in NEET PG exam?
A:

No. There is no option of any other language other than English. According to the existing NEET PG pattern, the exam is conducted in English language only. While NEET exam is conducted in 13 languages, NEET PG is conducted in only one language. NBE releases exam pattern along with the official information brochure. According to existing exam pattern, the exam is conducted in computer-based mode. Total 200 multiple choice questions are asked of 800 marks. Total allotted time for the question paper is 3.5 hours.

Q:   How many times can we appear for NEET PG?
A:

Candidates can appear for as many times as they want. There is no cap on the number of attempts in NEET PG exam. As per the experts, candidates may appear twice for the exam to improve the score or to do away mistakes in the first attempt. NEET PG exam is held in computer-based mode. Candidates who qualify the exam with the minimum cut off can participate in the counselling process. They have to register and declare choice for college to participate in the seat allocation process. 

From last two years, NBE has been postponing the original NEET PG date. In 2025, exam was scheduled for June 15, but postponed to August 3, 2025. Similarly, in 2024, the exam was postponed from June 23 to August 11, 2024. Check the table given below for tentative NEET PG 2026 dates:

NEET PG 2026 application form will be released online. The application process will begin most likely in March 2026. Candidates will have to register at official website, nbe.edu.in or natboard.edu.in to submit NEET PG application form 2026. To complete registration, candidates must have valid email Id and mobile number. Login credentials will be generated after successful NEET PG 2026 registration. Candidates will have to pay online application fee of INR 3,500 for general category and INR 2500 for reserved category for NEET PG 2026.

Steps to complete NEET PG 2025 application form process

  • Visit the official website, nbe.edu.in and select NEET PG

  • Click on application link and select registration

  • Enter details such as name, date of birth, gender, mobile number, nationality etc

  • A login ID and password will be sent after successful registration

  • Login with user ID and fill application form

  • Enter personal and academic details and selected centre

  • Pay online exam fee to complete the application form

NEET PG 2026 Syllabus

NBE doesn’t release word by word NEET PG syllabus. Candidates can refer the syllabus referred by Medical Council of India. NEET PG syllabus 2026 mainly comprises subjects covered in MBBS course, I.e pre clinical, para clinical and clinical subjects. The syllabus comprise around 15 subjects mainly anatomy, physiology, biochemistry etc

Q:   Can I apply offline for NEET PG?
A:

No. Candidates will have to register on the official website for NEET PG exam and submit application form. Offline and other mode of application will not be accepted. NBE, the exam conducting body will be releasing the application form online. Candidates will have to complete registration first to submit application form. NEET PG 2025 application form was released on  April17, 2025. 

Q:   How many attempts are allowed in NEET PG?
A:

NBE, the exam conducting body has not specified any limit regarding number of attempts in NEET PG exam. At the same time, there is no age limit for the exam. Candidates can appear as many times as they want in their prusuit of postgraduate medical courses. Candidates are advised to check the official information brochure, comprising the eligibility criteria and other crucial details related to exam.

Q:   Can I appear in regional language for NEET PG exam?
A:

No, you cannot appear in regional language in NEET PG exam. According to the NEET PG pattern, the examination is conducted in the English language only. All aspirants must refer to the question papers of previous years for NEET PG 2025 preparation. The examination will be held online (computer-based) at allocated centres across the country. A total of 200 multiple choice questions will be asked in the exam and candidates will get 3.5 hours to answer them.

NEET PG 2026 Pattern

NEET PG 2026 pattern will be released along with the official information brochure. The exam pattern comprises details including mode, medium of exam, total number of question and their type, marking scheme etc. As per the existing pattern of NEET PG, the exam will be held in computer-based mode. A total of 200 multiple choice questions will be asked and candidates will get 3.5 hours to answer them. There is a provision of negative marking in NEET PG exam. NBE might release NEET PG question paper and answer key.

NEET PG 2026 Preparation Tips

As NEET PG 2026 is one of the toughest exam in medical field, candidates need to study in depth to crack the exam. It must be noted, candidates do need to have plan and strategies in place to get good rank in exam. Candidates should aim to complete whole syllabus in 2 or 3 months and start appearing for mock test and analyse the result. Some of the preparation Tips for NEET PG 2025 have been listed below:

NEET PG 2025 counselling is delayed possibly due to two reasons. One reason is Nationaal Medical Commission has to add some colleges and seats for 2025-26 session and second is the pending court case. NEET PG 2025 answer key transparency plea is scheduled for hearing in Supreme Court on October 28.

MCC has yet not announced counselling dates and schedule for NEET PG for academic session 2025-26. Dates will be uploaded online. Registration is expected to start in the last week of October 2025.
