The NIST University offers full-time BTech courses of 4 years duration. It offers various specialisations including B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, B.Tech. in Information Technology, B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, etc. Admission to these courses is merit-based and is determined by the NISTEE score followed by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) counselling. NIST allows direct admission to the third semester of its BTech programme in all specialisations. The admission criteria for lateral entry is as per the JEE norms for lateral entry. Candidates willing to take lateral entry admission to NIST BTech programme must be eligible as per the following eligibility criteria:
- A Diploma of a minimum of three years, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST category)
or
- A BSc degree from a UGC-recognised university, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and a pass in Class 12 with Mathematics as a subject
