NIST BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
The National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST), Berhampur offers full-time BTech courses of 4 years duration. It offers various specialisations including B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, B.Tech. in Information Technology, B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, etc. Admission to these courses is merit-based and is determined by the JEE Main score followed by the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) counselling. At the time of admission to the BTech programme of NIST Berhampur, selected candidates have to pay an admission seat confirmation fee and a refundable caution deposit. NIST BTech Admission 2026: How to Apply?
BTech admission at NIST is entrance-based. The admission process includes the online application, NIST entrance exam, physical reporting and fee payment. The steps included in the process of NIST admissions for its BTech programme are given below:
STEP 1: Application Process
The first step is to apply for NISTEE as it is the accepted entrance exam for BTech admission. Candidates applying under the NRI quota must register on the institute's official website. After registering, they can fill the application form and submit it along with the required documents and an application fee of INR 400. For offline applications, candidates need to visit the institute's campus and submit a hard copy of the application form.
STEP 2: NIST BTech Selection Process
Candidates with a valid JEE (Main) score can apply for OJEE counselling. 70% of the total seats are filled through this counselling. To register for OJEE counselling, candidates can visit the official website at www.ojee.nic.in.
STEP 3: Physical Reporting and Fee Payment
