B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2024

We get to experience a campus designed to support innovation, learning, and holistic growth.
Placements: We have a good number of students in our batch. More than 60 percent of batch students got placed through campus, and the other 40 percent of students signed up to not opt for campus placements. The average package offered is 5 LPA, and the highest package offered is 12 LPA. The lowest package offered is 3 LPA. TCS is the top recruiter in our batch, followed by Tech Mahindra and Infosys, too. From our batch, a lot of students opted for medium-sized IT firms in Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad for internship opportunities. Roles like business development executive and SDE are offered.
Infrastructure: The hostel and mess are good. Both boys' and girls' hostels are there, but not co-ed. Wi-Fi is there, and its usage is good. For the mess and hostel, we have to pay an additional deposit, which is refundable at the end of the semester. The quality of food is average but manageable. We have a basketball court too.
Faculty: Teachers are amazing and qualified. Their behaviour towards students is also good. Most of the teachers are PhD holders. The course curriculum is relevant, and due to AI and other technological advancements, it is going to be relevant. Exams are always difficult, but we have to study consistently to pass. Around 90 percent of students pass the semester exams.
Other: I chose computer science engineering after 12th. I decided to opt for this due to the opportunities and learning of this subject. I had a passion for tech for a very long time, so I chose it. Internship opportunities are something this college lacks, or else it's a good college. Events and fests are amazing. We organise Sankalp fest every year for 3 continuous days. If students are from the EWS category, then they will have a lot of scholarships. Students also get a scholarship based on merit and top performance.

Supportive faculty, good events, and the best placements for CSE students.
Placements: At NIST University, Berhampur, the placement infrastructure and prospects are above average among many private engineering colleges in the region. With effort, you can secure a decent job. However, if your ambition is for top-tier tech companies with very high salary packages, you should not rely solely on the placement cell. You will need to proactively build your skills and perhaps be ready for off-campus efforts too.
Infrastructure: You will find a good, comfortable campus with solid infrastructure and decent hostel life. It provides you with new blocks/rooms and doesn't expect ultra-luxury. With moderate expectations, it delivers well. Hostel facilities are fairly decent. It provides rooms for 4-5 students, sometimes AC/non-AC options, Wi-Fi in hostels, and reliable water/electricity.
Faculty: A good academic environment with helpful faculty and manageable exams. The curriculum is solid but could be more industry-oriented. Exams are moderately difficult. If you attend classes and study consistently, scoring good marks is manageable. Evaluation is fair, though it can feel strict in some subjects.
Other: If you want a balanced college life with decent campus culture, active technical exposure, and good placement opportunities, CSE at NIST is a solid choice.

Take admission only if you have money constraints, unless you avoid it.
Placements: About 35%-40% of 2021-2025 batch got placed, with the highest package of 23 LPA, the lowest of 1.8 LPA, and an average of 3 LPA-3.5 LPA. Top recruiters include TCS, Tech Mahindra, Mysa, Texas Instruments, HP, Infosys, and other small services-based companies. Our college is not known for internship opportunities, so there are probably 10%-20% internships. The hiring is mainly for development and data analytics.
Infrastructure: For computer systems that are outdated with a lower than 3rd-generation Intel. Infrastructure is below average compared to other colleges. Wi-Fi is the only thing that is faster than other colleges. For hostel, the infrastructure is below average and has worse toilets. Mess is average as compared to other private colleges, canteen is only available during the day. There is a medical facility on campus and one in the hostel with an ambulance facility. For sports, we have an indoor stadium which has probably all the games, and with an occasional opening, a swimming pool.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and they try to help you to the best of their ability, they have decent knowledge in their subjects on a scale of 10, I would rate it 7. The course is relevant with an updated curriculum, but for the new courses like AIML, there is a shortage of good faculty members. It makes us industry-ready. The semester exams are not that tough, one with a basic course idea, and common sense can pass the exams easily. The pass percentage can be 85%-80%.
Other: I have chosen this course because it's near home, and also I don't have enough rank to get into a good college. There is only one good thing about my course, and I can easily secure 80%-95% in the semester exams.

My advice is to do admission anywhere else but not here.
Placements: The percentage of students placed in my course is only 30%. The highest package in our course is 23 LPA. The lowest package in our course is 3.5 LPA. Gyansys is the top recruiting company for our course. Salesforce is the top role offered in our course.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connections are good on campus. Labs are air-conditioned. Classrooms are not that much good. Library is good. In hostel, the rooms are good. But the food is the worst. Medical facilities are good. Sports are very good, and you also get opportunities. The mess and canteen food are not healthy.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful but the old teachers are not friendly with the students. Teachers only focused on completing the syllabus, nothing else. Semester exams are not that much good because the exam department doesn't care about the student's results.

NIST University - The place for leaders.
Placements: Placements are average, and the rate is 70%. The highest package is 23 LPA. The average package is 5.5 LPA. There are companies like Infosys, TCS, HP, Accenture, Capgemini, and HCL recruiters here. There are no internships offered here from companies but some of the teachers present here can get the best internships.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is fabulous. Hostel facilities are also good but there is a little compromise in food. Wi-Fi facility and AC rooms are available. We can see average rooms and also moderate food. Best in quantity but lacks in quality. Good for localities.
Faculty: A better exam is conducted at NIST University. The exam mode is very strict, no one can cheat. For those who will cheat, there is strict action taken for them. The exam pattern has been improved as earlier, and can get a moderate paper. Pass percentage is 90%. Highly qualified teachers with vast knowledge are present here.
Other: I have enrolled here for computer science engineering (AI&ML) because in this era of artificial intelligence, it stands unique from all. We have to choose a field that will make me stand out from all in this journey.

I am dissatisfied with the faculty members.
Placements: 60% of students get placed in my course. The highest package offered is 21 LPA, and the lowest package is 3 LPA. The average package is 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Wipro, TCS, Cognizant, and Western Digital. Very less students got off-campus internships like 40% in companies like Tata and HCL.
Infrastructure: Facilities offered are really nice. We also have a library, Wi-Fi, classrooms, and labs. We have two hostel buildings for each boys and girls. Hostels are huge but the hostel food is average but not so good. The hostel provides Wi-Fi. We also have an indoor stadium for sports.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified. Their teaching is good but sometimes they lack understanding. The course curriculum is relevant but they need to focus more on knowledge and skills. Semester exams are a bit hard and sometimes questions are twisted but it is okay. The pass percentage is 35%. They have good knowledge. There are good teachers. Some teachers have personality issues but overall, teaching is good.
Other: Because of the high job facilities and better life settlement, I chose this course. The best thing about the course is to have an IT life. Things that should be focused on skills that a student should develop to get ready for industry life.

I love this college. It is better than my expectations.
Placements: About 70% of our students got placed somewhere with a good salary. The highest package is 24 LPA and the average package is 4 LPA. Companies like Flipkart, Wipro, and Infosys visit our college for placements. Our College conducts internships and more than 70% of students got internships from the CSE branch. 30% of the core branch students got internships in many big companies .
Infrastructure: I am a CSE Student and I love the infrastructure of NIST. The Wi-Fi system is good. Labs are good. We have a huge library on our campus. Mess food is more than expected. We also have a canteen, and we can get quality food at a low price. We have also an indoor stadium on our campus, A big cricket ground is available outside the campus.
Faculty: Faculty members are too good. They are more than friends. Many faculty members come to NIST after doing PhD from IITs and NITs. Their teaching qualities are also good. Courses are also industry-friendly. For Exam POV, I will give it 5 stars. 3 types of Exams are conducted here that are internals, mid-semester, and end-semester exams.
Other: I am a CSE student and I love this branch, so I chose it. Sankalp, foundation day, and many club events are conducted here.

It's all about my college, which has good nature and surroundings.
Placements: This is a very good college. In terms of placement, the highest salary is about 30 LPA, and the lowest is about 7–8 LPA. Students can get internships either in college or if a student wants to opt for an internship outside. They can also go for it.
Infrastructure: Labs and classes are very good. Labs have AC and very good equipment that is required for the particular subject. The lab teachers are also good and very friendly. Talking about the hostel facility, it is also good. You will get both AC and non-AC rooms.
Faculty: Teachers are very good, loving, and have a helping nature. The interaction between students and teachers is very good. Talking about the semester examination in B.Tech, there are 8 semesters, and for each semester examination, the registration cost is Rs.2,500.
Other: Events and fests are good.

It is not possible for you to get admission in CS branch in any of the NITs, If you want CS branch you only have to go to some other government colleges or have to go with private institutes.

You need to have a good percentage in JEE mains exam as your score is not good enough to get seat in the 1st round of counseling itself. Just wait for the other counseling, where you may get chance of getting admission in particular NIT of your choice.

I think you should join National institute of science and technology. NIST is growing day by day and its reputation is increasing. While opposite in the case of C.V Raman.
