NLU Assam Admission Overview 2025
National Law University & Judicial Academy, Assam is also refer as NLUJAA. At the primary refers to (UG), NLUJAA offers BA- LLB (Hons) & at the secondary (PG) level, the university offers LLM programme & a PhD programme in the field of Law is also offered by the university. Step 1: NLU Assam Application Process 2025
For NLU Assam admissions to BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes, registrations are done through CLAT. Candidates must visit the official website of CNLU to apply for CLAT. Students can also check the detailed NLUJAA fee structure below.
Step 2: NLU Assam CLAT Selection Process
The registered candidates are required to appear for the CLAT entrance exam for admission to the BA LLB and LLM programmes. After that, candidates willing to get admission in BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes have to go through the CLAT counselling process for acceptance of seats. To confirm the allotment, candidates have to accept the seat allotment; after that the allotment will get frozen.

For admission to BA LLB (Hons) course at NLUJAA candidates have to register through CLAT portal. Registered candidates for CLAT 2025 counselling will be called by NLUJAA through five provisional merit lists, each released by the Consortium of CLAT. Candidates, who have been allocated a seat in the provisional lists and applied for revision, should check the status of their seat in the CLAT provisonal lists. At NLU Assam, there are 30 available seats for LLM. At the postgraduate level, NLU Assam provides a one-year LLM programme. Students may apply if they have a valid CLAT exam score and satisfy the minimal eligibility requirements. An undergraduate degree with a 50% cumulative GPA is the primary qualifying requirement, and the CLAT entrance exam is accepted. The tuition fee structure is 55 K in total. Seven specialisations in LLM courses are available at NLU Assam. Commercial law, corporate law, constitutional law, environmental law, intellectual property law, human rights and international humanitarian law, and international trade law are among the LLM specialisations.
The NLU Assam CLAT Cutoff 2026 was released for admission to the BA LLB (Hons) and LLM course for all categories under the Home State and the All India quota.

CLAT 2027 dates for admission to NLU Assam have not been released yet. NLU Assam NIRF Insights 2025
NLU Assam’s NIRF Student Diversity Report 2025 highlights the student demographics for the Law programmes offered during the academic year 2023-24. According to the report, at the UG level, for the five-year BA LLB course, a total of 296 students enrolled. Among these, 45% were female students and 53% came from outside Assam. Both of these numbers show a good amount and gender and state diversity at the UG level.
At the PG level, 51% students were females and 37% students were from outside the state. This shows that at the PG level, gender diversity is more and state diversity is comparatively less as compared to the UG course. Overall, NLU Assam maintains a fairly diverse student body with good representation of both genders and students from outside the state.

For admission to one-year LLM at NLU Assam, the CLAT test was conducted on Dec 3, 2023. Aspirants of NLU Assam were required to appear for the exam in offline pen-paper mode at the allotted test centres. Candidates could complete the CLAT registration 2024 until Nov 3, 2023 in online mode. The exam took place in more than 125 cities listed as CLAT 2024 test centres in 22 states and UTs.
