The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law offers courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels. The university offers five-year integrated BA LLB (Hons), One-year LLM and a PG Diploma course. The university offers admission to the flagship course (BA LLB) based on CLAT score. The selection for PG Diploma is based on merit of the candidates in the last qualifying exam.

RGNUL provides scholarships to meritorious or financially-weak students. The university offers Foundation for Excellence Scholarship. Candidates need to fill out the CLAT application form for Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law BA LLB (Hons) and LLM courses. The registration for CLAT opens in July and go on till November. Besides, the university opens application for PhD from February. Candidates have to apply on the university website for admission. The application form for PG Diploma course is available from April.

The opening or minimum rank required for NLU Patiala is 1141 for BBA LLB and 1167 for LLM for General Category students under Vertical Reservation.
