North-Eastern Hill University Meghalaya (NEHU) is ranked 106th by QS Ranking under the Asian University Rankings - Southern Asia category and 401-450 by QS Ranking 2024 under the Asian University Rankings. North Eastern Hill University was established in 1973 by an Act of Parliament. The university ranking is quite good. Hence, it is worth taking admission in this university in 2025.
Admissions to NEHU Shillong is offered on the basis of merit and valid scores of accepted entrance exams. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate in Class 12 for admission to UG level courses. Whereas, for PG level courses, candidates must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main, CUET UG/PG, CAT/MAT/AIMA and other national-level examinations suitable for the chosen course.

For various courses like BCA, BA, BSc, and others, CUET is accepted by the NEHU University Shillong. CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is an all-India level entrance examination which is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The competition is high so prepare well in advance to clear the CUET exams with good scores.

Hi! If you want to take admission in B.Sc B.Ed in NEHU, Shillong, you need to take the NCET exam conducted by NTA and apply online via NEHU's portal. Eligibility is 10+2 with 50% if Gen or 45% for sc/st. Just register yourself, pay the fees and wait for the merit list.

No, you cannot pursue MA Sociology at NEHU Shillong without CUET.
NEHU Shillong requires CUET PG scores for admission to all PG programmes including MA Sociology. The university has made CUET mandatory for UG and PG admissions.
