My review about this college.
Placements: Value-based higher education was the aim of the college. There was the department of placement. They provided great opportunities to their students. There were internships for the students to grow. They also provided jobs and placements for their students. Many firms come and recruit students. Many students take part in the placement program and enhance their skills.
Infrastructure: The course was among one of the oldest offered by the university which was a plus as the department was well-established. The course was well researched. The course was well designed to fulfill the needs of an M.A. program. The food was good, the water was available non-stop but electricity was sometimes going off. You had to apply to get into the hostel for girls hostel. It was very difficult to get into the first year as compared to boy hostels.
Faculty: Former faculty members were alumni from prestigious universities like Cambridge University. Faculty members had received Padmashree Award, Fulbright Fellowship, Chancellor, Overseas Non-President Award, and also faculty consisting of writers, poets, and critics. Great sources of inspiration were always there. Like to study the distribution of population and resources in different regions on the earth's surface as well as the case and its effect on both man-made and natural occurrences. Teachers were also very good and excellent at teaching. The course was very interesting if we liked to study, it was not difficult to pass.
Other: We could apply for the scholarships but the college did not provide scholarships for students. We had to apply it online through NSP.

Overall best university for an M.A. in Khasi course.
Placements: Only 90% of students got admitted to our college. The highest package is 32 LPA. The minimum package is 12 LPA. The average package is 23 LPA. Some students received internships from our college. Our college students should have more internships or placements. Top recruiters were Shillong Times, Meghalaya Times, Khasi Daily, etc. High-level services offered are researcher, cultural consultant, and so on.
Infrastructure: The department has advanced significantly. Wi-Fi, a central library, water conditioning, water filtration, and other essential amenities are all included. The hotel is excellent. It has solar water heaters, geysers, water cooling, water filtration, Wi-Fi, and electricity storage. The quality of the food is pretty nice.
Faculty: Instructors are too capable and helpful. Excellent instruction is provided. They provide us with context, which is useful in many areas. Since each teacher has worked in the field. They are all well qualified to teach. Several of the instructors have foreign Ph.D.s. The pass rate is over 79%, and the semester exams are simple.

Campus life in NEHU, Shillong.
Placements: No placements are provided in my department till now to the seniors as well as us juniors also, some departments like B.Teach and MBA students got some internships and job offers but other departments didn't get any offer from any company. Companies don't visit the university .
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. There are Wi-Fi facilities in the whole NEHU campus, large classrooms, and labs. There is a large library building also with 3 floors which contains various books, journals, magazines and newspapers also. There are many cafes and canteens around the campus.
Faculty: My course is very good. Teachers are highly qualified. They are from different states, but they like communicating with students very much. As everyone knows, at Central University, it's hard to get a good score; we have to work harder to secure 60%.
Other: The campus is very large and beautiful so you won't feel bored here.

My college offers an excellent learning environment and high experienced faculty members.
Placements: A good number of companies offer internships for students. Salesforce is one such company that provides internships with a stipend of Rs. 70,000 per month. Projects are done by students based on several web development applications. Students are free to explore their skills and do projects in their specialised fields. These projects add great value to their resumes.
Infrastructure: I am still in my first year, but for my first year, it seems better than I expected. Many people do not like it, but I do not see any bad intentions in this college. Activities and programs they do are good. The library, cafeteria, and classrooms are good. It is good to hang around when we do not have any class or when we get a break. Especially the campus has two basketball courts, so it is nice to hang around.
Faculty: There are well-experienced faculty members who provide resources to students. They are quite approachable. They are not too top-notch and also not unskilled. It all depends on students how they utilise them, and their resources. Exams are often conducted to test our abilities, and the difficulty level is medium. Around 10% of students fail to clear semester exams.

My college offers an excellent learning environment and highly experienced faculty members.
Placements: From the 7th semester, students can apply for placements. Many companies like Amazon, Infosys, Cognizant, and many local companies visit the college for placements. The highest package is 10 LPA, and the average package is 2 LPA in 2024. This course is also now trending, and according to job preference, they also prefer this course.
Infrastructure: I am still in the first year, but for my first year, it seems better than I expected. A lot of people don't like it but I do not see any bad intentions in this college. Activities and programs organised are good. The library, cafeteria, and classrooms are good. It is good to hang out around when we do not have any class or when we get a break. Especially on the campus, we have two basketball courts so it is nice to hang around.
Faculty: Good and qualified faculty members are teaching in every department of the college. Teachers are masters from IT and SVNIT also guide students a lot. Ignition Park of Knowledge in student clubs organises many social events. Many technical events are held in our college like a treasure hunt.

Placements: We can apply for the scholarship, but the college doesn't provide scholarships for students. We have to apply online through NSP. There is a department of placement. They provide great opportunities to the students. There are internships for the students to grow. They also provide jobs and placements for their students. Many firms come and recruit students. Many students take part in the placement program and enhance their skills. This puts the college at a high rank, and as a result, the college recruits only qualified students.
Infrastructure: It’s scholar-friendly and the environment is good. Well, it does promote a well-equipped, high-quality syllabus. There should be better experienced mentors. The frequency is good, and the difficulty level is quite high. Hostel rooms are good; for UG, rooms have to be shared, but for PG, three people stay in one room. Meal quality is vegetarian, no meat is served, and meals are provided three times a day. For hostel registration, you have to be advanced UG-3800.
Faculty: The faculty is super awesome and very much dedicated. Some of the teachers make you love the subject they teach. They are perfectly trained in their respective lines. They did their job really well. It’s an awesome college regarding faculty members. The principal was friendly, and so was his assistant. The faculty members sitting in offices, be it the clerks or whosoever were very helpful. The exams, yes, were very strict. We had two to three exams a year, and questions were set from every nook and corner of the syllabus.

Hi! If you want to take admission in B.Sc B.Ed in NEHU, Shillong, you need to take the NCET exam conducted by NTA and apply online via NEHU's portal. Eligibility is 10+2 with 50% if Gen or 45% for sc/st. Just register yourself, pay the fees and wait for the merit list.
