Yes, SKUAST Jammu conducts SKUAST-J Common Entrance Test for admission to UG, PG and PhD courses. It is a three-year exam for UG and two and a half year exam for PG courses. The paper for UG courses contains 180 multiple choice questions with each carrying on mark. In PG, the exam paper have 150 questions each with four options.
Candidates seeking admission to SKUAST BSc (Hons) must have passed the Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with PCB/ PCM/ PCBM/ Agriculture (with Science subjects), besides English with 50% aggregate for OM, NRI/ NRI-sponsored category, and 40% aggregate for reserved categories.
Candidates hailing from states/ UTs other than Jammu and Kashmir & Ladakh can only seek admission under the NRI/ NRI sponsored quota for BSc (Hons) Agriculture, BSc (Hons) Horticulture and against Self Financing, seats for Postgraduate courses kept under the All India Basis category.
SKUAST Jammu does not offer direct admission. Aspirants first need to fill out the application form for the preferred course and then appear for SKUAST-J CET conducted by the university. SKUAST-J CET for UG courses is offered for a duration of three-years. For PG courses, the duration is two and a half year.
