SRM IST admission 2025 is based on both merit and entrance exams. The institute offers more than ten courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The courses are offered in various fields such as Engineering and Technology, Management, Computer Applications, Pharmacy, and Hotel Management. Admission to SRM IST flagship BTech course is entrance-based. The institute conducts SRMJEEE for admission to the BTech programme. Candidates with a valid JEE Main score are not required to appear for SRMJEEE and are given direct admission to the course. Similarly, for admission to the SRM IST MBA course, the institute conducts SRMJEE-M and accepts valid scores in CAT/ TANCET/ XAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ NMAT/ CMAT.

SRM IST admission process usually begins in the month of March with the release of SRMU application forms. The admission criteria for SRM IST courses are both merit-based and entrance-based. In case of merit-based courses, admissions are granted based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria and availability of seats. Admission to courses such as BTech, MBA, and MTech is entrance-based.

Step 1: Application Process

The SRM IST application process is conducted online on the official website of the institute. Interested candidates are required to fill out the application form, after meeting the eligibility criteria of their desired course, and pay the required application fee. The SRM IST application fee is INR 1,200 for all courses.

Step 2: Selection Process

• For BTech, MBA and MTech- Admission is done through National level entrance examination (SRMJEEE , SRMJEEE(PG), SRMJEE M) conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology or authorized /statutory boards or agencies. Apart from the SRM entrance exams, the institute also accepts various national-level entrance exams such as CAT, TANCET, XAT, MAT, GMAT, JEE Main etc. In addition to the above, the eligibility for admission is subject to fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the qualifying examination.
• For other courses- Fulfilling the eligibility criteria and Subject to the availability of seats at that point of time, Candidates will be called for counselling.

Step 3: Final Admission

• Upon selection of the programme, tuition fees and other applicable fees have to be paid at the time of counselling
• A Provisional Allotment Letter (PAL) will be issued to confirm the candidate's admission.
