Review of my best college, ICFAI University, Meghalaya.

Placements: Placements suffered a little bit due to the recession. There are a lot of investment and banking companies like DE Shaw, UBS, Nomura, etc., who visit the college to hire finance students. Some KPOs like EVS, WNS and The Smart Cube also come for placements. Students also get placed in corporate finance, SAIL, Energy Infratech, India Bulls, and banks like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, etc.

Infrastructure: Hostel facilities were good. The college hired 100 fully furnished flats in a society nearby. These flats are allotted to students on a first come first serve basis. The condition of these flats is top-notch.

Faculty: Honesty, faculty members are approachable but few of them literally made fun of the students for approaching them. They used to be motivated and demoralised every time they approach the faculty members. In a year, there are 4 exams, 1st internal than mid-term followed by the 2nd internal, and at last final exams. The curriculum used to change every year which students found really difficult to cope up with. The course curriculum gives us knowledge about the principles, theories, etc. They are not so relevant compared to real-world applications except for their internships.

The faculty members are friendly with students.

Placements: 5th semester was a good time to start attending campus drives. Zoho, Infosys, and some other companies visited and hired some people with medium packages. 80% of students selected my plan and got a few offer letters from company to be an entrepreneur.

Infrastructure: In my experience the college life I had was good and we had some festivals. College provided a library and lab for the students. It also provided drinking water and washrooms. It provided a projector so that the students could show their presentations in the classroom.

Faculty: They were already students from that college and became teachers themselves. But they need to improve their skills first before graduation, and they need more experience than ever. This may lead students to become poor knowledgeable people.

The university has its own system, which is great.

Placements: Amara Raja Solutions, TCL, and Karborn companies offer internships for students in our college. The average stipend is Rs. 15,000 per month. Projects like automation in electronic devices are conducted in college, and it has received good recognition for that project.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure provided is average as it does not have a permanent or private campus. Other than that, everything is good, including the library and computer class.

Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is 7:29. Faculty members are friendly and good with students. Sai sir is my favorite faculty member in this college. His way of teaching is very good. I don't like lab assistants because they are very strict. I wrote an entrance exam for admission and I got a seat in this college. Overall, the experience is much better than expected as both students and the faculty members are friendly and approachable.

Culture is great, and there’s always something fun to do.

Placements: Our college provides an average salary package of 3.5 LPA. Students have received great placement offers from many reputed companies like Wipro, Airtel, Jio, Axis Bank, Byju's, Godrej, and many more. After completing my degree, my plan is to get a job to gain experience and pursue an MBA after working for two years.

Infrastructure: Library is huge, so if one likes books, that’s where they will spend most of their time. The nightlife is decent. The area outside the campus is a bit shady. Inside the campus, students can visit night canteen. Students usually roam around on campus late at night, with FIFA and Valo games playing in hostel rooms. Till 2020, the legend Maggi Baba was present every night, though not sure if he's still there.

Faculty: Most teachers are good with students. We have a total of three exams each semester that is two unit tests of 25 marks, and a final exam of 70 marks. It isn't difficult to clear exams if our concepts are clear, even if we aren't completely prepared. Many students do fail to clear exams but that's entirely on them. Course curriculum is relevant and as I'm in digital marketing I've already gained a lot of knowledge in this field.

Other: Engifest is one of Delhi's the biggest college fest, usually held in February. There are over 100 societies to choose from.

The system of study here is much more appreciable as there is less number of students.

Placements: In our placement season, we are having a internship + placement both offers our college is offering us, but our college giving permission or allow us to do internship in 8th semester. And also company providing us a stipend of 10000-15000 Also good companies like Accenture are visiting on-campus for placements.

Infrastructure: There is one annual fest in the college I.e., the annual college week which includes sports, arts, drama etc. The classrooms have projectors and greenboards as well as the freedom to bring laptops for group projects and discussions. The college is more so focused on the studies and there is less co curricular activities of sports but during the college week every kind of game is available for the students to play and refresh their minds. The NSS Is one such club that is run by the students and headed by the faculty member.

Faculty: Faculty members are some what supportive and course structure is also very updated and new, they are teaching us new technologies and we are having two exams in year one is Mid-semester and another one is external exam, so mid-semester is about 40 marks and external is about 60 marks.. So that's all about my faculty members. And also having exam level from easy to moderate.

The finest university of my life: ICFAI

Placements: The placement offer to us is so good as in our college we have a separate placement department. Many big MNCs have visited our college to conduct placement activities, including top reputed companies like TCS, Amazon, Flipkart, and Infosys. The package offered to us is very good, at 15 lakhs per annum.

Infrastructure: The hostel facility of our college is excellent. We have a good environment in the hostel, with well-maintained rooms and sufficient facilities for staying. The food is also good, thanks to the mess system, which ensures both quality and quantity.

Faculty: The course of M.Com is well-structured, with a faculty-to-student ratio of 1:56. The teachers are very friendly and easygoing, and their teaching methods and techniques are up to mark, except for some teachers. They are more like friends rather than strict, and they sometimes explain concepts practically using smart classes, labs, and group discussions. We can point out our doubts anytime during lectures or ask them at any other time.

The Best University of My Life: ICFAI University

Placements: The placement offers from our university are excellent. Our university has invited many big MNCs for placement activities including companies like TCS, Amazon, Flipkart, Wipro, Cognizant, Reliance and Infosys. The packages offered are also very good, at 11 lakhs per annum.

Infrastructure: The hostel at our college is very good. Each room, shared by two students, is spacious and has 24-hour water supply and an attached bathroom. For food, we go to the college mess where the food is very tasty and delicious.

Faculty: The MCom course is excellent. I chose this course as part of my commerce stream in college. The faculty is also very good with a team of highly qualified teachers including some PhD holders. Their teaching methods are effective and easy to understand and exams are conducted every semester

Events and programs of college are really good.

Placements: From the second year in college, the placement procedure starts, which provides different opportunities with attractive packages starting at 5 LPA and going up to 15 LPA. The M.Com. course provides different job profiles that are very much in demand.

Infrastructure: Rooms are well-equipped. Hostel rooms are provided with a bed, a chair, and a study table. Washrooms are well maintained in the hostel. The food provided in the mess is of good quality. The menu for the mess is decided by the students themselves. The registration process for the hostel is too simple. You should not be the resident of the home district, and only you have to meet the warden in person, and he will give you a form to fill out, after which you will be allotted the room. PGs are available near the college, but they are too expensive. They charge nearly 10,000 per month, which is very much compared to the hostel charges.

Faculty: A curriculum is essential to guide teachers in what to teach, how much depth of knowledge is needed for the grade, and as a timeline to follow so the year will be complicated They focus about the area of improvement and take exams on time. Class Size: 78 Course Fee: INR 75,000 per year.
