University of Rajasthan is a public/ government university located in Jaipur, Rajasthan. It is one of the oldest universities in the state. It was set up in 1947 as the University of Rajasthan in 1956. Spread in approximately 705.0 acres on Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, also known as the central spine of Jaipur, the university has always accorded a high priority to games and sports. University of Rajasthan (UNIRAJ) offers admission to the various UG, PG, and Doctoral programmes. Additionally, Rajasthan University also offers Diploma, PG Diploma and Certificate courses. UNIRAJ UG admissions are solely based on merit in the qualifying examination. The university accepts  PIM-MAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CAT, CMAT, ATMA, and others scores for admission to the MTech and MBA programmes respectively. Admission to other PG courses is based on the scores in the URATPG entrance exam. University of Rajasthan (UNIRAJ) conducts MPAT entrance exam for admission to the MPhil and PhD programmes. Candidates who qualify the same are called for a Personal Interview for the final selection. Final admissions to the M.Phil and Ph.D. programs are offered on the basis of the merit list released by the university. Application forms for UNIRAJ Courses are usually released in the month of May or June on its official website. Candidates can apply online for various courses by paying an application fee.

UNIRAJ LLB seats are offered via various colleges affiliated with the university. Combining the intake of all colleges/institutes, the university offers a total of 3,240 seats for LLB admissions. It is important to note that this seat intake is subject to change on a yearly basis based on various factors.

As per the UNIRAJ NIRF report 2023, the median package offered to UG-three-year students at Rajasthan University stood at INR 4.5 LPA during the 2022 placement drive. Moreover, as per the NIRF report for 2022, the median package offered to UG-three year students in the year 2021 stood at INR 2.5 LPA. When compared with the year 2021, the median package offered during the 2022 placements witnessed a significant hike. 

The University of Rajasthan has defined the seat reservation policy to be followed for the allocation of seats. As per the reservation policy, the university reserves seats for several underserved categories to promote fair opportunity in admissions. The University of Rajasthan offers a full-time BSc programme via 15+ affiliated colleges. This amounts to an intake of 35,000+ seats for the BSc programme. Some of the colleges with prominent seat intakes include Shrimati Panadevi Morijawala Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, University Maharani College, Parishkar International College, and others. Out of all, University Maharani College has the highest intake with 880 seats.
