My honest review of University of Calicut.

Placements: Placements were provided by the college. Many reputed companies visited, such as ITC, KPMG, Amul, IDBI Federal, Vodafone, Reliance, IndusInd Bank, Karvy, Idea, Redington, TVS, Vertex, VKC, Xerox, Ramco, Chembur Jewelers, ICICI Prudential, and Synthite. Internship opportunities were also good. Companies like Alembic, Berger, HDFC Bank, Wipro, Nerolac, MS Life Cell, Impex, Alliance, HCL, ESAF, Mahindra Finance, and Getit.

Infrastructure: Hostel accommodation was available for boys and girls. The residential campus ensured 24/7 Wi-Fi accessibility. This helped students and trainers design and execute specialized programs, while working closely together. It was facilitated better outcomes.

Faculty: Course curriculum of our college was good. They provided strong corporate exposure. It was designed by experts and professionals from the industry. The curriculum matched the requirements of various industries. Exams were conducted at the end of every semester. Faculty members of our college were among the best I had ever encountered. They were all highly qualified and experienced professors. They were very friendly and interactive with us. The course offered to us was new and aligned with the needs of students for their future careers. All faculty members were nice and supportive. Practical sessions, live theories, case studies, and field trips were also part of the curriculum.

My honest review about my college.

Placements: Placement facility was provided by the college. So many reputed companies came like ITC, KPMG, Amul, IDBI, Federal, Vodafone, Reliance, Indusind Bank, Karvy, Idea, Redington, TVS, Vertex, VKC, Xerox, Ramco, Chemmanur Jewelers, ICICI Prudential, Synthite, etc. Campus provided a placement training program with the intend to equip the students with the skills required to impress recruiters. College organized evening classes for group discussions, aptitude, news analysis, and resume writing.

Infrastructure: Hostels were very neat and good. Mess was average. Fee was normal and got free accommodation and food for SC/ST students. Hostel accommodation was available for boys and girls. Residential campus ensured 24X7 accessibility of Wi-Fi on the campus. This enables students and trainers to design and execute specialized programs and work closely thus facilitating maximum output. The curriculum was very relevant for economics. You had dual specialisation with electives like quantitative techniques in business, marketing, management, and finance. The subjects range from portfolio management and financial derivatives to advanced econometrics.

Faculty: Faculty members were awesome. They tried their best to give us the best quality of education. They provided an opportunity for the management students to express and share their feeling with the mentor, discuss conflicting issues faced by them, and seek solutions on a regular basis.

Average placements, decent facilities and experienced teachers.

Placements: Not very good placement are offered in my department. But average placements are offered, where around 70% of students get internships and placements. The median package offered to us is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Xylem, TCS, ICICI Bank, Airtel, Adani Group, etc.

Infrastructure: Facilities provided to us are average because the classrooms are still old and our buildings need a bit of renovation. We have libraries but there are very few sports grounds. The hostel facility is good and the mess also offers us a variety of food of good quality.

Faculty: All in all, professors are good at teaching and they bring a lot of experience with them. However, sometimes they get irritated. But with me, every time I asked for help, they were humble. The course curriculum is designed for 4 semesters, with most of it being theory subjects and a few practical.

Skill based course curriculum with decent facilities.

Placements: The placement cell of our college is doing a commendable job by getting around 70–75% students placed every year. The visiting companies for recruitment are TCS, Wipro, Kotak bank, ICICI Bank, etc. The highest package is between 8 and 10 LPA and the lowest package is 3–4 LPA.

Infrastructure: The facilities offered by our college are not very modern but they provide us with all the basic facilities we need. The library in our department is good. The hotels have good facilities including bedrooms, hygienic mess facility and clean washrooms. Internet facilities are also available.

Faculty: Half of the professors are good at teaching but others are not that good. We have professors from all over the country and they have decent knowledge about their respective subjects. The course helps us gain management skills. Apart from lectures, practical sessions and industry visits are also organized.

Low fee and good facilities.

Placements: The placements in our college are improving year by year. The highest placement offered by the cell is around 9 LPA and the lowest placement is 2 LPA. Mainly, roles in areas of sales, marketing and banking are offered. Up to 70% of students get the placements.

Infrastructure: I almost like the facilities being provided by our college. The course offers us classrooms that have become a bit old; apart from that, libraries and computer labs are available. We have a department of medicine where we can also get treatment. Sports facilities are available at the college.

Faculty: I am satisfied with the teaching quality of the professors. Their knowledge and experience are also unmatchable. But there are some of them that are rude to us. Speaking of the curriculum, it is well designed and helps us get decent placement. Exams are also not that hard to clear.

Good course curriculum and infrastructure.

Placements: I personally did not like the placement at all. Because we don't have a dedicated placements cell, there are only 2–3 professors and some students who work on placements. The placement percentage is around 65–70. The average package offered is 5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TCS, Xylem, Asian Paints, Big Bazzar, etc.

Infrastructure: The department provides us with all the facilities which are needed in the course, such as classrooms, libraries, computer labs, Wi-Fi facilities, etc. We have sports that we can play. These are cricket, football, kabbadi, tennis, basketball, etc. Medical care is available in the college.

Faculty: I would say that the professors are very experienced and knowledgeable. They also teach us in a way that makes the concept easy. The curriculum is well designed by professors. It keeps changing every 2 years. In exams, we need a minimum of 4 CGPA to get passed.

A good place for knowledge enrichment.

Placements: I was among the best performers in academics among my batchmates who passed out of college. Concerning placements, many companies tried out with our college. The placement process was very painful, even for us. Recruiting companies are SBI life, ICICI Bank, Airtel, Kotak Bank, etc. The placement record shows about 70% placements in all the fields of specialization. Currently, in placements at our college, the average salary package offered to the students ranges from 4 LPA to 5 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college and the hostel is great; we are offered facilities such as cleanrooms, computer labs, libraries, etc. All the basic amenities are available, and proper hygiene is maintained in hostels. The classrooms are spacious and kept in good condition, and the library is best in class with a diverse variety of books. As such, we currently have a medical department too.

Faculty: Personally, I am skeptical about the professors because some of them are poor and some are good. As for the curriculum and the faculty members of this institution,. They are really knowledgeable. Many of them are experienced, and therefore they are at a vantage point compared to other people. They also show us theoretical knowledge as well as demonstrations. They also visit some guest speakers to give us a current update on the industry.

Only has good facilities, very few placement opportunities.

Placements: Our college is not very famous for its placements as only 40-50% of students from our course get placements. The highest offered package ever was 8-10 LPA, and the lowest is around 2 LPA. Only local companies hire from our college. Internships are not available for us.

Infrastructure: Decent infrastructure is available for us. I personally love the vibe of the classrooms, and it is comfortable too. The computer labs have AC, and the hostels are also decent. We have only one cafeteria at college, and in the mess, the food quality is optimum. Only a few play sports in the college.

Faculty: The teachers have enough knowledge to teach us; sometimes they are rude too. The course curriculum does not change every year and doesn't focus on practical learning. We have to learn skills other than the course to get placement. We have two exams in a semester.
