Calicut University Admissions 2026: Application Process, Eligibility, UGCAP, Dates & Selection Criteria

While the Calicut University's Common Entrance Test is not mandatory for all the courses, it is still widely accepted by the university. Calicut University offers distance education to students through its School of Distance Education. Formerly known as the Institute of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education, the School of Distance Education, Calicut University was established in 1981-82. The Calicut University SDE offers 25 courses to students.

The Calicut University KEAM Cutoff 2025 has been released for admission to the BTech courses for all categories belonging to the Home State quota. The BTech CSE Cutoff 2025 for the General HS quota ranged from 49354 to 58241, wherein Thejus Engineering College was the hardest college for admission. 

For the OBC HS quota, the cutoff for the same course ranged from 52691 to 65499, wherein Thejus Engineering College was also the hardest college for admission. Please note that the cutoff for each category will differ according to each round and specialisation.

After submitting your University of Calicut MBA application, you will be invited by the University of Calicut for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) on the basis of your entrance scores. These rounds carry 20% of the total weightage.

University of Calicut BA programme basic eligibility is as follows-

• Eligibility: Open to all Class 12 streams (Science, Commerce, Humanities) with a 45-50% aggregate. Selection is strictly merit-based.

• NEP 2020 Structure: A flexible 4-year programme. You can exit after 3 years with a degree or complete the 4th year for BA Honours.

• Inclusivity: No upper age limit. Multiple specialisations in Literature, Journalism, Humanities, and Social Sciences.

Following the NEP 2020 guidelines, the BA at University of Calicut is now a flexible 4-year course. Students can choose to exit after three years with a standard degree, but staying for the fourth year leads to a BA Honours or Honours with Research. This modern structure is quite different  as it allows students more freedom to accumulate credits over eight semesters.
