Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2029
Offered by Loyola College
3.8
3Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
It offers a good college life with decent placements for commerce.
Placements: Around 55-60 percent of students from the commerce batch got placed through the college. The highest package I heard ranges from 5-6 LPA, and the average package ranges from 3-4 LPA. The lowest package ranges from 2-2.5 LPA. Mostly, audit firms, banks, and companies like TCS, Cognizant, and Accenture visit the college for placements. Half of the students got internships. Common roles offered are audit assistant, finance trainee, and business operations roles.
Infrastructure: Our classrooms are decent and have basic facilities. Wi-Fi is available, but it becomes slow during peak hours. The library is helpful for us and has good study space. The hostel is safe. The mess food is average, and the canteen gives a better variety. Sports and medical facilities are also available.
Faculty: Most teachers are helpful and explain topics clearly. But a few are strict with attendance and deadlines. The course curriculum is good and covers core topics, but we need extra courses or internships for better exposure in the industry. Exams are moderate in difficulty. The pass percentage is good if we keep up.
Other: I chose commerce at Loyola because Loyola has a good reputation. The best parts are the crown and campus life. The atmosphere is good. I should provide fast Wi-Fi facility and more placement drives focused on the core subject. Overall, the course gives decent exposure.

B.A. in Journalism - Batch of 2026
Offered by Department of Journalism, Madras Christian College
3.4
4Placements1Infrastructure4Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Well known for everyone and one of the oldest college.
Placements: Best companies for placements.
Infrastructure: Hostel is very worst. Night slots are very dangerous and sleepless nights are more due to event preparation and if less marks are scored at college exams they won't allow you to stay in hostel. Don't stay in Madras Christian College hostel it is very dangerous.
Faculty: They won't provide you correct book, they prefer exam come suddenly. Internal marks are allotted by attendance also. Internal marks are allotted on note submission and note maintenance. Some teachers are helpful and some teachers are not so helpful for the exams.
Other: Good environment to stop and helps in motivation. Helps in career development. Greenary surroundings provides pace of mind. Cultural events are awesome. Pongal, Christmas, Onam celebrations are well performed and well organised.

M.Com. in Finance - Batch of 2023
Offered by St. Albert's College
5
5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
It is a better college for M.A. economics in Kerala.
Placements: St. Albert's College provides huge placements in various companies. Companies like Wipro, Infosys, Adani, etc., hire students. They provide internships and help students get a prestigious fellowship. Companies pay a prestigious salary, and the highest package offered is 25 LPA. The average package is 20 LPA, and the lowest package is 18 LPA.
Infrastructure: St. Albert's College has a better infrastructure than other colleges. The college has a big library, auditorium, and computer-based labs. The college has a playground, and every year it arranges a tournament. The college canteen is good. The college infrastructure is well-maintained.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good, understanding, and helpful. They are PhD holders. They solve all our problems at any time. They revise our syllabus and help us secure good grades in exams. The pass percentage of students is 75 percent, and it is better for students.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.Hons.) - Batch of 2025
Offered by Guru Nanak College

Good enough if you want to pursue a professional course along with a fun college life.
Placements: Only a very few students got placed. Even if someone gets placed, there is no proper communication from the company regarding the job offer. The highest package received was 3 LPA. Top recruiters vary every year but usually include Sutherland, Accenture, and Muthoot Finance. The internship letter is provided by the college, but we have to look for internships on our own.
Infrastructure: Most classes are equipped with projectors. Classrooms look decent. The infrastructure appears appealing. Recently, the management has been taking steps to provide more facilities that benefit students and faculty members. The computer labs, auditoriums, and other labs are up to a certain standard, but not the best. As a day scholar, I am not aware of the hostel facilities.
Faculty: Teachers have good qualifications, but their teaching styles vary. Some teachers teach extraordinarily well, some at a mediocre level, and some are not up to the expected level. The curriculum is good, but not very relevant to the industry. Some good teachers try to educate students with skills needed beyond the syllabus and relevant to industry standards, but getting a good teacher depends on luck.
Other: Academically, the college doesn't provide much, but if cultural and sports activities are your area of interest, you will enjoy the college.

My personal experiences in GNC.
Placements: None of us had an idea of joining a job. 95% of my batch had the idea of post-graduation or higher studies or professional studies. Some of us sat for it, and I got placed. Selective 2-3 are good and legit companies. But most of the other companies were here for BPO.
Infrastructure: All those in campus facilities are not bad. Had a good experience with all those. Hostel, I'm not sure. Heard the college hostel is bad. Club presence and the importance given to joining those clubs and inter-college or intra-college events are all very nice. But you won't have fests like other colleges. This college actually has an assembly every Monday.
Faculty: Most of the teachers are good, but some of them are not so good. But I'm sure you will have that one teacher with whom you can share anything and everything. He/she will treat you like a friend. Every department has at least one staff member like this. I had some good friendships with even staff from other departments who were not related to me, but they are very friendly.
Other: To be frank, I didn't see any drawbacks from the faculty/infrastructure/campus life. But the ultimate goal for a degree is placement. This college lacks a lot in the placement committee. That's the only problem we saw. If the college incurs some expenses on the placement committee or hires someone from outside, it will be good. I forgot to mention that the college places importance on club presence, sports and all those extension activities are really so good.

College review by an honest student.
Placements: About 15 to 25 percent of students are placed every year. The lowest package is about 7 LPA, and the highest is between 12 LPA and 13 LPA. Internship, you should forget about that. An internship is very hard to get. The roles offered by my course are like IT, banking, Finance, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of the college are neither good nor too bad, they are average. Wi-Fi has limited access. There is a playground on campus. The canteen is hygienic, and the food is affordable. Sports are available in college, where we can participate and train on the college grounds.
Faculty: The lecturers are well-experienced and well-qualified, and my course is trending in the industry. The semester exams are very challenging, and we should prepare very well to pass the semester. The pass percentage of the semester is like 70 to 75 percent.
