The VMSB UTU MBA admissions process does not offer direct admission. However, the selection is primarily based on valid entrance test scores, i.e., MAT, CAT, UKSEE, XAT, and any other accepted management entrance tests. Candidates who have completed their graduation with relevant subjects are eligible to submit application forms. This entrance-based admission process will ensure that only eligible candidates are shortlisted for the MBA programme. In order to take admission at VMSB UTU for MBA, candidates must appear for the accepted entrance exam.

The total seat intake for the Master of Business Administration program at UTU - Uttarakhand Technical University is 112, as per the Utkal University Information Brochure 2022-23. Preference in admission is given to candidates with 60% marks and a valid qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score for General/OBC candidates, and 55 percent marks with a valid qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering score for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates.

The placement rate at the university is around 80%.The maximum number of candidates are placed in top firms like Amazon, Wipro, TCS, Emicon, IBM, HCL, Accenture, Eminence, Infosys, etc. Apart from this, the university also conducts internship exams to give students the opportunity to undergo internships during the course duration. The Uttarakhand Technical University highest package is INR 54 lakh per annum followed by an average package of INR 3.5 lakh per annum.
