M.Tech. in Power System Engineering - Batch of 2026

Very good college for M.Teach.
Placements: Placements are good as it is a government institute. This year, Tata, JSW Group, Birla Group, etc., hired students. Mostly, students got jobs through placement interviews. The highest package offered is 5.8 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 3.2 LPA. The internship programme for students is provided by Tata Power.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. Labs are spacious and equipped with all apparatus. Classrooms are spacious and digitally updated. The library is good, with all types of technology books available. The hostel is good, with two-seated rooms available. Mess food is average. There are several grounds for different sports.
Faculty: Faculty are good and all have completed their postgraduate degrees. They understand what the students want and clear doubts through discussion. The course curriculum is good and prepares students for the industry. There are two semesters in a year, and each semester has two sessions.

I should join VSSUT or otherwise.
Placements: I am a student of VSSUT Bhubaneshwar, which is one of the most famous colleges all over Odisha, and I am a student of Mechanical Engineering. In the past year, 2024 out of 140 students, 121 students got placed in Mechanical Engineering, and that is why it is known as the golden branch of VSSUT. The lowest package goes up to 4LPA, and the highest in 2024 is 12LPA, but the average package offered is 6LPA, sounds good.
Infrastructure: There is a great infrastructure, 450 acres campus. Labs are also well maintained, smart classrooms. The problem is there in the hostel and also a bit in classrooms in summer season, no air conditioning in classrooms, and in the hostel. The food menu is good, but the quality is decent, not so good, but okay, and they have a great exposure to sports.
Faculty: Its faculty, curriculum, and exams are so important, and they take exams so seriously and strictly. My midterms are over, I will take the exams with proper seriousness. They also ask their own question, and getting 7 to 8 CGPA at VSSUT is like getting 9 CGPA at any other private college.
Other: The main highlight of VSSUT is that they provide all these facilities without charging much of a fee. They take 41k yearly, its very affordable.

Satisfied with the college.
Placements: I am a student of VSSUT. There are plenty of options available for placements at this college. Almost all students have the option of doing internships at this college. The companies in this college offer very top growth in their companies. I am very happy with this college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of this college is pretty good and is improving day by day. A new building is also going to be opened in few months. Facilities in this college are top notch but some classrooms are small. Wi-Fi is available on the campus. The food in the hostel is very good and hygienic.
Faculty: Teachers at this college are very helpful, knowledgeable, and qualified to top notch. But something problem is that it is difficult to pass the semester exams. All the subjects that are taught are industry-ready. I am very satisfied with this college.
Other: There are many extra-curricular activities.

I recommend this college.
Placements: We have an amazing placement in our university. There is a different placement cell that functions, and this makes sure that each student gets placed by the end of their career. Some great companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, etc., visit every year, and the minimum package for students is 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: There are 7 boys' hostels & 6 girls' hostels. Each hostel has a library and 2 independent study rooms. A volleyball court is in each hostel, and a TT is also in each hostel. The infrastructure & the hostel maintenance are simply wow. They serve us food 4 times a day. Very healthy and hygienic food is served. Each floor has 10 toilets and 10 bathrooms, and they are sanitized daily.
Faculty: There are 4 professors, 3 associate professors, and 2 assistant professors in our department. They are extremely friendly and highly qualified. They are extremely helpful, give proper guidance to the project works & motivate us to attend some industrial internships. In my opinion, our course name should be renamed as mathematics & computing, so that we can also attend some campus interviews with IT companies. Discussing the exam, sometimes question papers are from some IITs, so the level of the exam is always high to moderate. The faculty members are too lenient, so we can achieve a good mark here.
Other: We have 20 students in our batch. Everyone is placed now. Some are guest faculty members of government colleges. We spent some great moments there. I enjoyed university life and am now content in professional life.

The college is somewhat good, with good placements, especially for core branch students.
Placements: About 80–90% of students get placed in the CS branch, and the average package ranges from 6 to 8 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Amazon, Infosys, and TCS. The highest package offered is 21.75 LPA, given by JP Morgan. Some of the top roles offered are Software Developer and Associate Developer.
Infrastructure: The courses are somewhat good, but some CS labs lack new technology as they continue to teach on Ubuntu. The hostel facilities depend on which hostel you are allotted. Like in every engineering college, the hostel is just like an ordinary one. The quality of food is somewhat below average.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, educated, and knowledgeable. However, like every other engineering college, they still follow traditional methods of education. The teaching is somewhat aligned with what companies demand. The semester exams can be challenging, as VSSUT focuses more on academics.
