A short peek into Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University.

Placements: The situation of placements is very dire, as there is nobody placed from the institute. The institute does not help in any way to get you into a job or internship, especially if you're doing a BFA. Students mostly figure out their way by applying for internships and various fellowships.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are pretty good; it's not very modern as the institute is a heritage site, but the facilities provided are very good. You get specific art supplies from the department, and the best thing is the studio availability; it's open 24/7. The hostels are also good; I won't say very good due to the lack of a canteen and all.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful if you're open to talking to them. They are knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is somewhat in between very modern and old school. Semester exams are not very difficult, and the pass percentage is high.

Other: I chose the course to understand art practices and the art world better. The best thing about the course is that it's very chill and lets you have time to brew your imagination and creativity. Some new equipment would be helpful. The fests are not too many, but it's decent; the best one is Nandan Mela, a must.

Visva Bharati University provides scholarships to the deserving candidates. The university offers merit-cum-means scholarships for UG and PG students. Below mentioned are the scholarships:

Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarships for Single Girl Child	Applicant must be a single girl child. Girl children must be enrolled in a regular, full-time, PG program.	INR 31,000 per month for 20 months
Post Doctoral Fellowship for Women	Women candidates must be enrolled in a PG programme at a recognised university.	INR 31,000 per month
National Fellowship for Higher Education of ST Students (previously known as Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship)	Open to Scheduled Tribe students. Transgender candidates are eligible to apply under the scheme. Student must be enrolled in full-time M.Phil and PhD degree in Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology.	Fellowship of INR 25,000 annually for an initial two years. INR 28,000/-pa for remaining tenure (5 years or till viva).
PG Merit Scholarship for University Rank Holders by UGC	The scholarship will be given to undergraduate First and Second Rank winners who have been accepted into any Postgraduate Course. Students who have enrolled in a conventional, full-time Master's degree programme at a recognised university, acknowledged university, private university, autonomous college, or postgraduate college are eligible for the program.	Amount of fellowship: INR 3,100/- p.m for two years only i.e. full duration of a PG course.
