Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) will conduct the Company Secretary Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) January 2026 session in remote proctored mode January 10. This will be the last examination to be held in remote proctored mode. Applicants appearing for the exam must follow prescribed ICSI CSEET January 2026  Important instructions for remote proctored mode. Candidates will be allowed to appear for the test through their own laptop/ desktop from home/ such other convenient place. Candidates shall not be allowed to appear through smartphone (mobile)/tablet etc.

Candidates who will apply for January 2026 exam of the CSEET exam must follow the protocols, failing which the Remote Proctor is authorised to disqualify a candidate in the test for any misconduct by the candidate. The upcoming CSEET 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on January 10, 2026. The ICSI CSEET admit card Jan 2026 will be released for online at icsi.edu. Candidates must make sure to keep the admit card and identity proof while giving the test. Read this complete article to know the instructions for the exam day.

CSEET January 2026 Exam Instructions

Part 1- General Instructions

  • Candidates must take the printout of the CSEET 2026 admit card and verify the following details that will be mentioned on the admit card of CSEET 2026:
    • Applicant’s name
    • Photograph
    • Signature
    • Admission number
    • Date of the test
    • Timing of the test

Note- In case of any discrepancy in the admit card of CSEET 2026, candidates must immediately at CSEET@icsi.edu or at our support portal http://support.icsi.edu.

  • For CSEET 2026 January session, remote proctored mode candidates must download the safe exam browser SEBLite on their desktop or laptop as per the link that will be provided.
  • Candidates will be continuously monitored through audio/video mode by the Proctor, also known as a supervisor in the same manner as the candidate would have been monitored at the exam centre. 
  • Before appearing for the exam, candidates must have the following documents ready; other than the below-mentioned information, no other documents will be allowed to be kept nearby:
    • CSEET 2026 admit card
    • Identity Card issued by Govt. Departments viz. Passport, Driving Licence, PAN Card, UID Aadhaar Card, Voter Card.
  • Candidates must log in on the portal 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the examination. 15 minutes after the commencement of the examination no applicant will be permitted to appear for the exam and no candidate will be allowed to finish the exam until the expiry of 90 minutes from the start of the test. 
  • To clear the CSEET 2026 exam, candidates must score a minimum of 40% marks in each paper i.e., Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 and Paper 4. No negative marking will be done for any wrong answers. 
  • Candidates must ensure that there is no book, study material, handwritten or printed notes, mobile phone, pager, digital diary, scientific or programmable calculator, Bluetooth, laptop, palmtop, smart Watch, health band or any other electronic device or gadget with them while giving the test.
  • Candidates’ eligibility to appear in the CS Executive Entrance Test shall be subject to the provisions of Company Secretaries Regulations, 1982 (as amended time to time) as in force and the guidelines issued by the Council issued from time to time.
  • No break shall be permitted once the exam starts and no one will be allowed to leave until the submission.

Other important requirements:

    • Candidate to have administrative privileges on the laptop/desktop to enable installation/uninstallations.
    • Uninterrupted power supply to run the system continuously during the test.

Test Process: Candidates must log in through their Unique ID and password on the online platform. Candidates will be communicated the time schedule, website address, and ID and password in due course separately.

Remote Proctoring: Candidates will be observed by the proctor from the control room of the institute as per the details mentioned below:

  • Candidates will be sent the login details via SMS and mail before the test.
  • Candidates will have to undergo identity verification at two levels:
    • Level 1- the facial photo has to be captured. The AI tool will monitor the picture of the candidate continuously. In case of any mismatch, the system will capture the anonymity and notification will be displayed to the candidate. 
    • Level 2- candidates will have to display the admit card and ID proof. Proctor will instruct the candidate to display after logging in to the test. 
  • Candidate must not practice any unfair means, failing to which the system will automatically collect data and will alert the online proctor for the following parameters:
    • Focus changed to a different window: Candidate tabs out of the test-taking window.
    • Browser not supported: The candidate is using an older browser version.
    • Webcam is disabled: Candidates webcam is disabled.
    • The face is not visible in the camera: The candidate is not looking into the camera.
    • Several faces in front of the camera: There are other people along with the test taker.
    • The face does not match the profile: The candidate taking the Test is not the same person whose photo was captured before starting the test and as per the Admit Card.
    • Microphone muted or its volume is low: Candidate has muted the microphone Conversation or noise in the background: System has captured background noise.
    • Screen activities are not shared: The candidate has stopped screen share activity.
    • Second display is used: Additional display like extended monitor has been connected.
    • Full-screen mode is disabled: Candidate has disabled full-screen mode. 
  • Live proctors will be able to:
    • Communicate with the candidate via microphone only or the camera sound
    • Chat with the candidate
    • Every minute snapshot of the candidate will be taken
    • Each session will be finished by the candidate or will end automatically once the timer ends. All the conversations and images will be saved in the system and will be attached to the session protocol.
    • At the end of the session, the Proctor will leave a positive or negative comment as per the conduct of the test taker. If there will be no violation during the test then the Proctor will mark a positive conclusion.
  • In case of any technical issue while giving the test candidate can contact the helpline number- 9513850008, 9513850025.
  • The candidate will be disqualified in case of any violation of the instruction provided by the proctor. 
  • No bio breaks will be allowed once the exam commences.
  • In case during the test candidates faces any issue of internet connection, lost connection, power cut etc they shall be allowed to log in again and continue from the last question attempted. Proctor will report such instances to the institute immediately.
  • Candidates must attempt the mock test of 1 hour (dates will be notified) to become familiar with the pattern and the mode of examination. Details for the mock test will be sent to the candidates separately.

Part 3- Operating Instructions

1. Attempting the test

  • When the Proctor instructs candidates will have to click on the ‘Sign in’ tab to get the instruction sheet. Candidates must read the instructions carefully and can clear any doubt from the remote proctor before the commencement of the test.
  • Each question will be followed by four options marked as A, B, C and D. Candidates must click on the correct option with the mouse. The chosen answer will be highlighted and will be saved automatically. 
  • Candidates can modify their answer by simply clicking on the other option before the timer ends,
  • Candidates shall not click the “END TEST” button followed by warnings with the “PLEASE CONFIRM” button until they have completed all the questions of all sections of the Test. The Test shall NOT RE-START once the “CONFIRM” button is clicked. 
  • The timer will start once the test commences. The countdown will be displayed on the right side of the test window.
  •  Before the conclusion of the test, the candidates can use the “Marked for Review” option by clicking on the “Marked for Review” button, if they wish to review or revisit the question later. 
  • In case the laptop/desktop restarts or shutdown inform the invigilator immediately. Answers already marked and the time of the test will be saved and the candidate will be able to resume the test from the exact point that last appeared before him/her. 

2. Navigational Instructions

  • Click on the tab ‘Start Test’ below 
  • Select the correct option for each question and click on the ‘next button to move to further questions
  • Candidates can click on the ‘previous’ tab to move to the last attempted question(s)
  • Bookmark any question by clicking on the ‘mark’ tab and can be removed by clicking the tab again.
  • Candidates can clear the response by clicking on the tab ‘clear’.
  • The question panel will show the following changes for each time the candidate selects a question or option:
    1. Questions that are Not Visited are marked in ‘WHITE’ colour.  
    2. Questions that are Not Answered are marked in ‘RED’ colour.  
    3. Questions that are answered are marked in ‘GREEN’ colour.
    4. Questions that are Not Answered &Marked for Review are marked in ‘ORANGE’ colour.
    5. Questions that are answered & marked are marked in ‘BLUE’ colour with a tag.
  • Once the test is completed, click on the tab ‘End Test’ and submit the same. The end button will be available on the last question only. 
  • Candidates can view the ‘Test Summary’ after submitting the test.

Important note: 

  1. The online Proctor is authorised to disqualify the candidate in case of any misconduct by the candidate.
  2. Infringement of any of these instructions shall render the candidates liable for disciplinary action, which could lead to cancellation of the results of the Test.
  3. Smoking, chewing of tobacco, betel, intoxicant, carrying/use of mobile phone/ electronic device, etc., is banned during the test.
