Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com. Hons.) - Batch of 2030

Top college of commerce in Kolkata, GCCBA.
Placements: About placements, the college provides them in the last year of completion of our degree. The placement opportunities are quite low but valuable. Companies like EY, Airtel, etc. come to offer placements. The package is around 4–5 LPA. However, if you are a bright student, you can expect more.
Infrastructure: Being a government college, the infrastructure is not that good. Basic amenities are available, like washrooms, classrooms, a common room, a lift, library, study room, and a ground. But private colleges provide more than this. For example, we don't have a games area. But if you're keen to study only, then it's a good place.
Faculty: Teachers are really very helpful in terms of guidance, completion of the syllabus, other information, studies, etc. They also take part with students to organise anything on campus and are all well-qualified, proficient professors who guide properly.
Other: GCCBA is considered the top college of commerce under CU in Kolkata. Having the lowest fees for a 4-year graduation, I think this college is too affordable for students who are passionate about getting a B.Com degree. Fests and all are quite regular in this college. You get to go to other campuses for inter-college dance competitions, etc. Overall, I love this college.

Good college for overall growth through a healthy, competitive crowd and experienced faculty.
Placements: The college would try its best within its capabilities so you can get as many opportunities to build a network, internships and placement. But still, I would say the number of placements is very low as per the records. Still, some good companies come for recruitment, such as EY and Deloitte.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not bad, and students would not feel satisfied. They get the basic stuff that they require. But they would not feel too much satisfaction also, as they don't get a big campus, playground, AC rooms in summer, canteen, etc. For sports, they have indoor games like carrom and table tennis, and they also conduct tournaments for cricket, football and many other sports during sports day.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and they have a lot of experience in teaching. They teach in English but can help you in Bengali or Hindi if required. They also help in any way within their limits. Semester exams are of a moderate to tough level, and the passing rate is very good.
Other: For the new come students, I would say don't expect film campus life in this college. But that does not mean you are not gonna enjoy this college. You would meet some really nice people there who would help in your overall growth. Teachers and stuff try to help as much as possible. Sometimes they try to put a strict character in front of students. But they still do want to help the students if it's within their capabilities.

Strong academics with affordable fees.
Placements: Placements are decent but not very high in number. A few reputed companies like Deloitte and EY visit, but the percentage of students placed is comparatively low. Many students go for higher studies or professional courses instead of campus jobs.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average. The classrooms and library are good, but the building is old and there is no proper hostel or Wi-Fi. Also, the canteen facility is limited. Overall, the college is a good value for money. If your focus is strong academics and a reputed commerce degree at a very reasonable cost, Goenka College is a great choice. But if you are expecting high placement support or modern infrastructure, you might feel a bit disappointed.
Faculty: Faculty of Goenka College is one of its strongest points. Most professors are highly qualified, experienced, and approachable. They explain concepts clearly and also guide students for professional courses like CA, CS, and MBA. The teaching style is simple yet effective, and doubts are always addressed.

My college is so good. Facilities, teacher, infrastructure, students, atmosphere, and all are okay.
Placements: In our batch 2019-22, which was the Covid period, so not much companies came. I remember in our last semester, one or two companies came for placement which were EY and Deloitte. Only 8-9 students were placed in that. I don't know the package details because I did not get placed. Besides this, I know nothing much.
Infrastructure: Facilities were good. Infrastructure was so good. In our college, there was Wi-Fi which was not for students obviously there was some reason behind it. Labs were interesting and good. Classrooms were the most comfortable place along with library, playing room, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members were so good. They were helpful, knowledgeable, and also qualified, and they were our teachers. You could say that the course was relevant, and made students industry-ready a little bit. A lot of things depend on students such as how much they learn.

Absolutely grateful for having a chance to be a part of Goenka College.
Placements: So many students got placed in Infosys company after passing out. Many of them shifted abroad after completing from Goenka College. So many students got really great jobs. About 80% of the students get internships in top companies in semester 4 which is very helpful for our future.
Infrastructure: There are no hostel facilities right now. But the college infrastructure is so good and clean. All the classes are well-maintained and cleaned. There is a common room where many indoor games are available for every student. There is no canteen facility available.
Faculty: Faculty members are so good and excellent. All teachers are so experienced and are very helpful all the time. The curriculum is also good for us. Maximum of the students pass the exams because teachers are so good in teaching. They help us by providing different books willingly.
Other: There are so many events happening in our college where celebrities are also invited.

It is worth the time, and value for money.
Placements: I still don't know much about placement or percentage as I'm still in 1st year, but heard from seniors that the average package offered ranges from 4-5 LPA. Many companies like Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, EY, TCS, Wipro, etc., hire students. The highest package ranges from 10-12 LPA and the lowest package ranges from 3-4 LPA.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of our college (GCCBA) are quite good for the total fee we pay (which is really low). There is Wi-Fi in our college, and computers are also quite good. The library is really big, though a library card is required. Most of the classrooms are really big, clean and available with both white and blackboard. Benches are big enough. There is a carrom and table tennis in the common room. The campus is not huge, but still, catch ball or cricket can be played.
Faculty: Teachers are really helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They don't waste much time and complete the syllabus within the ideal time, and one subject is handled by 2-3 teachers. Teachers share their experiences, which inspires students. Semester exams are quite tough, and not that hard that we can't pass. To score well, we have to study hard, especially the main subjects like financial accounts, costing, etc.
Other: Though all subjects in this course are relevant, I wish ( it's my personal opinion) the number of extra subjects should be less, like CVAC or AEC. GCCBA celebrates many events. There is a fest every year. The fest is really amazing, and I enjoyed it.

The college is very pocket-friendly.
Placements: I am from the batch 2022-25. Internship opportunities are not very satisfactory. Only one of the big 4 companies has done mass hiring from this college till now for our batch. The only good thing about this college is that the tuition fee is really low.
Infrastructure: There is no proper college canteen. There is only a Nescafe with overpriced food. The sandwich stall and mio more next to the college are good. This college does not have a hostel or Wi-Fi facilities. The nearby local street food stalls are enough to get through college life.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified, understanding, and knowledgeable. All the lectures are delivered in English. Once we listen to the college lectures properly, there is no need to take tuition classes separately for B.Com. Teachers cooperate a lot with students and even help with personal doubts occasionally. Professors teach really well, and we get a lot of holidays.

Good infrastructure, good teachers, and helpful teachers.
Placements: During my batch (2020-2023), placement opportunities were quite limited due to the impact of COVID-19. I am not sure about the exact percentage of students placed, but I recall that a company named Future Firsts came for hiring. We had to apply and sit for an aptitude exam. Regarding the highest, lowest, and average packages offered, I did not have specific information. As for internships, most of the profiles offered were in sales and digital marketing.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for our course was good enough. There were Wi-Fi, labs, and AC rooms. Library facilities were also good. You could collect books whenever needed. There was no mess or canteen or hostel. But outside, there were food and beverage shops. Classrooms were well oriented.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They had more than 25 years of experience. You could ask for any help. At Calcutta University, the exams were tough. You had to study well to receive good scores. Out of 100, the pass mark was 24.
