Review of St. Xavier's College Kolkata.
Placements: The cutoff after boards is 92-93%, and there are about 600 students in the B.Com Morning Course. The average package for the college is 75,000 per month, and there are a lot of companies that offer placements on campus. The companies usually are the Big Four and Big Six companies and various local companies and MNCs as well.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are huge and can house around 100 students, and most of the classrooms have AC. There are several labs and auditoriums in the college, and the library is very large with ample amounts of books and space for studying, and a canteen as well. The campus is also very big and has several halls and auditoriums.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality is great as well. There are a total of 5 periods every day, each lasting 40 minutes. The curriculum is very relevant to other B.Com courses in other colleges, and it is sufficient for the students. The exams are quite regular with 2 exams every semester and seminars to support those exams as well, which are added to the CIA Marks.
Other: I chose this course as the morning timing is quite convenient, even though it is very early. It runs from 6 AM to 10 AM, and there are several events and fests conducted by various clubs and societies in the college, such as Xavotsav, Oncampus, Prism, Initium, etc.

A college with good infrastructural facilities and one that clears your road for the future.
Placements: As per the reports, every year around 67 to 98% of people from my college are placed in leading companies. Our packages offered range from 4 LPA to 24 LPA. Top recruiters are Deloitte, Wipro, TCS, and other leading companies from other sectors. Top job roles offered under the B.Com degree are accountant, tax consultant, financial analyst, HR executive, and other banking jobs.
Infrastructure: St. Xaviers College provides an apprehensive library with e-resource facility and a wide availability of books. Books range from educational ones to self-betterment ones as well. Classrooms are well-equipped as well with projectors, a green board, and whiteboards as well. There are a chaat corners and an ice-cream stall within the college as well which keep the students going during their college hours. There is an infirmary within the college for students to take rest in case they are sick.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, interactive, and approachable. Teaching quality shows a mix of theoretical learning as well as practical implementation. The curriculum is relevant as it is updated as per the new education policy and involves practical thinking, ethical reasoning, and business analytical skills.

St. Xavier's College - An ode to memories.
Placements: The batch of 2024 saw a total of 67% of students getting placed with an average CTC of 4.2 LPA. Top recruiters included the Big 4 and ICICI, Zomato, Swiggy, Tata Consultancy Services, ITC, and Godrej. The overall placement drive is a huge success.
Infrastructure: It has vintage buildings, big doors and windows, floors and walls draped in green and yellow add to the glory of the college. Suitable Wi-Fi connection is available in the library, and reading room for the students to complete their lectures and classwork.
Faculty: The semester papers follow a standard pattern of assessment, and one can score fairly well if they follow the classes regularly. Teaching faculty is miraculously well-versed in their particular subjects. They teach with a lot of care and diligence, and make sure the students get the concepts well. The students sit for continuous internal assessment to check their progress.

The best commerce college in India.
Placements: Roles offered are HR consultant, management advisor, and tax consultant. If you perform well in the interview, there is certainly a high chance that you will qualify for a worthy job. Top recruiting companies include D. E. Shaw & Co., which offers the highest pay package at 24 LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure needs improvement. Develop more smarter and air-conditioned classrooms. I have often heard that the college has a poor hostel facility, especially for girls. Further, the food provided is also not up to the mark. Games and sports are very good. Canteen is cool.
Faculty: Teachers are good. Course curriculum is relevant. Passing is not a big deal. If you choose to prepare for passing, 2 days are enough for you to pass if you study properly. The questions are quite predictable and are already taught in the class with high emphasis.

The college is okay. If you want the brand name, then you can join this college.
Placements: The placements provided by this college are good enough for a person who is planning to proceed with degrees like B.Com, BBA, etc. People doing other courses like CA, CMA, CS, etc., might not go for these placements, and I am one of them. I do not apply for placements provided by the college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not good at all, in my opinion. Kolkata is already a place with so much humidity that it is hard to survive. On top of that, we have our classes in the evening, on the third floor, and to add more spice to it, there is no AC in an 80-seater classroom. On one bench, four people sit together and suffer in the summertime.
Faculty: The faculty is not very good, to be honest. They are average or below average. Teachers are knowledgeable, but they don't really know how to teach students. Semester exams are quite difficult in the college, and most students fail if they do not study properly during the papers.

The college is one of the top institutions in the country and a student can expect a lot.
Placements: The college offers excellent placement opportunities through its placement cell. A few of the top companies, such as PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, Genpact, Zomato, Accenture, Grant Thornton, etc. come each year for campus placement across various roles ranging from Audit, Finance, Accounts, etc.
Infrastructure: The college offers various amenities, such as canteen, air-conditioned classrooms, spacious labs, a whole dedicated area for a central library with three spacious and well-equipped reading rooms, playground, basketball and football courts, general and community halls, etc.
Faculty: The course curriculum is rigorous and competitive. The professors are well versed, highly educated and interactive; they are all friendly and helpful. The level of exams in this course is quite difficult. The course offers the overall development of the student.
Other: The course offers various skills to adapt and also provides the students with holistic development .

Absolutely satisfied with St Xavier's.
Placements: 70% of them were placed in my course. The lowest package was 2.5 LPA, whereas the highest package stood at 10 LPA. Deloitte and D.E. Shaw were some of the top recruiting companies. The top roles were of auditor, analyst, marketing and sales intern, back office, etc. There was a mandatory internship which was to be done.
Infrastructure: Good infrastructure is available on campus. There is Wi-Fi and AC in the majority of the classrooms. There is a smart board in all the classrooms, and the faculty at the college is great. The quality of the facilities in the hostel is average. Food is not that bad. The medical facility is good.
Faculty: The teachers were really helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is no doubt top-notch at St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. The course curriculum is relevant and it does make the students industry-ready. The semester exams are not that difficult. If you do your studies well, you will sail through.

Review of St. Xavier's College Kolkata.
Placements: The placement provided at my college is good. Companies like De Shaw, Big 4s, Tata, and other top companies offer jobs. The maximum package offered during my time was by De Shaw in September, at 22 LPA. The company hired 4 students from my college. The average package offered is 5-6 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA, never less than that. Most students get placements from the college, at least 70-80% of those who apply. The college provides internship opportunities in top companies. Companies primarily offer analyst roles in my department's course.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure for my department are not so good. There are Wi-Fi and library facilities provided by my college. But they do not provide air conditioning in all the rooms, and even the rooms are not very airy. I do not stay in the hostel, but as far as I'm concerned, the quality of facilities in my hostel is good. The quality of food, medical facilities, and sports facilities are all good. The only issue is that there is a somewhat strict environment in the hostel.
Faculty: The teachers in my college are well-qualified, helpful, and knowledgeable. They provide quality information and are also very friendly in nature. They are very supportive, and sometimes you feel a connection with them like family. Yes, doing B.Com is relevant. After B.Com, you have more scope for work. We have our mid-semester exam, known as CIA, and the final semester exam in my college. The average student gets a CGPA of 6-7 in the college exams, and many of them have arrears in some papers.
Other: I chose this course so that I would have many more opportunities after B.Com. Our college organizes many events, fests, and extracurricular activities. It also provides scholarships, but one has to fulfill some criteria.
