Student viewpoint on Khalsa College.

Placements: The college has a good placement cell. The interesting part is that big companies like KPMG, HDFC Bank, Deloitte, Chegg, NoBroker.com, etc., have hired students from our college for internships and placements (jobs). The highest package goes up to 30 LPA.

Infrastructure: Each classroom has air conditioning. Free Wi-Fi is also available to the students. The buildings are a bit old, but they are currently being renovated. The girls' hostel is newly built and has all the required facilities, including Wi-Fi and air conditioning. The entry gate closes at 7 p.m. The college also has a lawn tennis court, a Gurudwara, a large ground, a gym, a canteen, a basketball court, a football ground, and more.

Faculty: Teaching faculty is very nice. They are always ready to clear our doubts. The only issue is that there are lots of assignments and projects to be submitted every semester. It would be right to say that the semester exams are a bit tough, but slowly we can get the hang of it.

Other: The courses are nice and the faculty is also good, but I don't understand the purpose of subjects like AEC, VAC, and SEC. They don't make any sense, as we won't be able to use them in the future. Actually, at present, it is just like a time-pass learning.

A good college with decent placements.

Placements: I am not sure about the exact number of students placed, but the placement of my college is quite decent. The highest is approximately 24 LPA, and companies like BCG, Brain and Company are also recruiting on the campus. The internships provided are quite good as well.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is decent. It's not very extraordinary, but it's comfortable enough. An air conditioning facility is present in the classrooms. The canteen is also decent. I did not take the hostel, but I heard the hostels are quite decent as well.

Faculty: Teachers and professors teaching in the college are quite experienced and good at their jobs. Most teachers are cooperative. The curriculum is fine, but practical experience is necessary for jobs and internships. The teachers are quite helpful to the students.

I am completely satisfied with the college facilities.

Placements: Almost 90% of students passed here. All the commerce-related courses taught here. More than 50% of students got the placements from here. The lowest and highest packages of this campus depended on the skills, knowledge, and percentage of the student. All things were good.

Infrastructure: Excellent classrooms and with good ventilation. Canteen food was awesome. Specially chole bhature was best. All labs were available for related courses e.g. botany, etc. All labs were well-equipped. A cricket ground and basketball court were also available.

Faculty: Teachers were very helpful in all ways. They were well qualified and knowledgeable. My course was very relevant. Exams were not difficult because teachers taught us very deeply. They were very good at building friendly relationships with the students.

Other: I chose the course B.Com honors because I wanted to study finance as a professional.

A review from an alumnus of SGTB, North Campus.

Placements: All the Big 4 firms visit the college, including others like DE Shaw. I got recruited at EY GDS. A lot of companies come for placements.

Infrastructure: The classrooms are air-conditioned, and there’s a separate girls' common room for female students to rest. The college also has a Gurudwara inside the college. The canteen has a lot of variety of both veg and non-veg food. It also has the biggest playground in Delhi, where all matches take place.

Faculty: The faculty is well-trained and highly knowledgeable. They never hesitate to repeat the topics. The curriculum is extensive yet completely aligned with the commerce industry. The studies will actually make you learn and grow rather than repeat the same topics. There are monthly tests and exams of a tough level, so keep studying consistently.

Other: The fests are amazing since it's a north campus, and the college is dog-friendly.

Placements: The placement records of the college are above average or average. Every year, 6/10 students get placements and others opt to join the post-graduation. The average package is nearly 400,000. The top recruits are DE SHAW & Co., EY, Deloitte, PwC, Byjus, KPMG, IBM, RSM USI, and many more. Placement records of B.Com (Hons.), Economics Hons., and B.Com programs are comparatively higher. Various internships are offered by the Placement Cell of the College.

Infrastructure: The facilities provided by the college are above average in terms of access to the Library and books but average in terms of classrooms and infrastructural facilities. The principal got changed in 2023 end and afterwards, there's no development in the college's infrastructure. ACs are not working in some classes. Talking about the food quality, it's above average.

Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified with doctorates and are highly trusted, and concerned. The teachers do possess great knowledge about their subjects. The course curriculum is totally relevant to today's era. Teaching about the new trends in the industry makes us know more about real life. The semester exams are of moderate level. To pass the exams you need to secure 40% of the total marks.

Other: It was my dream to get into DU's North campus and I joined this college and got admitted in B.Com (Hons.). Talking or having debate sessions over new industrial trends can make the study more relevant. Therefore, to experience that, you can join the college society. Every week there's an event in the college. The main fest is LASHKARA. Famous singers - DILJIT DOSANJH, KARAN AUJLA, JORDAN SANDHU have performed in the college's fest.

Great crowd, decent canteen, Nescafe coffee house, and decent placements.

Placements: Top recruiters do come to our college, but the placements are not at all comparable to colleges like St. Stephens and SRCC. However, the placement cell of the college has worked very well in recent years to improve the placement and salary rates. Now you do hear about Deloitte hiring many students for around 10 LPAs, which was not happening earlier.

Infrastructure: The crowd is good, the canteen is decent, the ground is huge and the auditorium is great as well. Fully air-conditioned classes; however, some of the classes on the 2nd floor don't have great internet speed. There's a coffee house as well and the garden is also beautiful.

Faculty: The teachers are great and usually at the senior level for my course. B.Com. (Hons.) is one of the best courses you can pursue at this college and the teachers are very practical. However, with the recent change in curriculum (my batch was the first), four new additional subjects have been introduced, and the practical and internal portions have increased in the exams. So overall, it can be quite difficult to cope if you are pursuing any other field or interest along with college as well, but it can be done. Semester exams are sometimes tough and sometimes easy.

An underrated college but not talked about due to poor infrastructure.

Placements: 60% of students are placed every year. The highest placement is given by auditing companies. The highest LPA is 22 LPA in our college. The company providing this package is DE Shaw group. An internship drive also takes place, and around 50% of the students who apply get recruited. Top roles offered are consulting, auditing, and accounting roles.

Infrastructure: All the classrooms for our course are well-equipped with Wi-Fi. The library is well-equipped with books, and there is also good Wi-Fi facility. The hostel of our college is very good for boys, but the girls' hostel lacks some amenities and is not up to the mark. Recurring complaints have been placed by girls.

Faculty: Teachers are very knowledgeable and qualified, and they are also very helpful. The course B.Com (Hons) is easy to understand and worth it. Students are taught various subjects like accounting, business consulting, and all. Semester exams are not much tough; you can easily crack exams if you start preparing a month before the exam.

Other: I chose this course because it is an easy and very dynamic course; one can get jobs in various domains by opting for this course. One improvement could be including basic economics in the course. Events are the best part of DU life, and the campus is well-known for its students. Connectivity is the best with all the students of different colleges.

Register and Apply
Interested candidates have to register online with required information. Non-refundable online registration fee is a mandate without which candidate’s application would not be considered for further processing. Candidate has to select preferred course at the time of registration, there is no limit on the maximum number of courses in which the candidate can apply and there is no additional fee for applying in multiple courses. Final Selection
