5,000 students, 70 institutes bring Chitkara University’s campus alive for Algorythm 2K19

Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh, hosted North India’s largest annual cultural fest Algorythm on October 5. The events was attended by over 5,000 students from 70 institutions across India and abroad. This year, the celebration united countless understudy groups with new ability and extraordinary vitality for a day pressed with occasions running through all classes, to commend culture and ability more than ever.
Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh , hosted North India’s largest annual cultural fest Algorythm on October 5. The events was attended by over 5,000 students from 70 institutions across India and abroad. This year, the celebration united countless understudy groups with new ability and extraordinary vitality for a day pressed with occasions running through all classes, to commend culture and ability more than ever.

Chitkara University emphasises on cultural festivals as they believe that these increase the value of a student’s learning background – the best method for bringing youth on the same platform is, encourage and facilitate social interactions and also encourage exchange to thoughts and ideas. Pro-Chancellor, Chitkara University Dr Madhu Chitkara, said, "Algorythm is a great festival of culture, diversity, talent, friendship and collective and individual aspirations, in the field of expressions, culture, writing and different exercises." In her opinion, the cultural fest helps students showcase their talent and given them recognition along with learnings from group exercises, skills and talents.

The major events were Vogue, Stomp The Yard, Fantastic Toe, Folklore, Halla Bol, Euphonious Fusion; fun & game events including, FIFA 19, Four-A-Side Soccer, CS Go, 8 Balls of Fire, 3-on-3 Basketball, NFS, PUB-G, Art Nouveau, Paintball, Zorbing, Top-It-Up followed by grand contest to grab the coveted title of ‘Mr. & Ms. Algorythm 2k19’. The best performers were awarded with a stash of goodies and cash prizes worth Rs 5 lakh.

Some of the winners of these events were:

  • Team from IHE College was declared winner of ‘Vogue’.
  • Lassya from DAV College, Chandigarh, was the winner of ‘Stomp the Yard’ contest.
  • The team from Agarsen University bagged the first position in the event ‘Fantastic Toe’ dance competition.
  • Event ‘Folklore’ was won by the students from CGC, Landran.
  • In the Abhivyakti Zone, for event ‘Halla Bol’, the street play put up by the team from GGDSD College, Chandigarh, took the winning trophy.
  • For the event ‘Euphonious Fusion’ Ajay Grewal from Chandigarh University, received the first prize after leaving the audience awe-struck with his soulful voice.
  • The coveted title for ‘Mr. & Ms. Algorythm'19’ was bagged by Sahil from Bahara University and Divyanshi from LPU, respectively.
  • The Game Warp zone saw some thrilling players fighting the battle on big screens. In gaming category, Sahul Uniyan from UICET was declared the ‘FIFA’ champion.
  • Team ROD Particle from Chitkara University bagged the ‘Counter Strike Go’ contest.
  • Nishant from Chitkara University won the game of ‘PUB-G’.
  • The thrilling match of ‘Four-A-Side Soccer’ saw Team Pataka FC from GGDSD, Chandigarh, stealing the show.
  • Shesendu from Chitkara University, Punjab, won the contest ‘8 Balls of Fire’.
  • The team from SCD College, Ludhiana clinched the first prize in ‘3-on-3 Basketball’.
  • In the category Fun Events, the first prize in painting contest ‘Art Nouveau’ was bagged by Sharandeep Singh from DAV College, Chandigarh.
  • For the event ‘Top-It-Up’, Tenzin from Chitkara University was declared the winner.
