The institute was established in the year 1963 as Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur, by the Central Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. The institute lies in the heart of the Pink City, Jaipur. It is magnificently laid out, with an imaginative landscape of 312 acres. It presents an artistic spectacle of natural beauty and modern architecture.

The institute was established in the year 1963 as Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur, by the Central Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan. The institute lies in the heart of the Pink City, Jaipur. It is magnificently laid out, with an imaginative landscape of 312 acres. It presents an artistic spectacle of natural beauty and modern architecture. The campus is close to Jaipur International Airport, the railway station, shopping malls, art galleries and major hospitals.

Its architecture consists of Academic and Administrative buildings; on-campus accommodation for staff and faculty and hostels for residing full-time students. The campus provides all the essential amenities like a primary health centre, dispensary, bank, staff club, post office, shopping complex, gymnasium, playing fields, guest houses, and canteen.

Moreover, it extends its boundaries over a rich area of 312 acres of lush greenery. The campus is truly an epitome of natural beauty thereby being an ideal place for learning and getting inspired.

Library

The MNIT, Jaipur has a spacious and well-equipped library which operates on an open-access system. It has a rich collection of about 1,33,600 volumes of Reports, Periodicals, Reference material, and Books.

Computer Centre

The computer centre can accommodate more than 70 students at a time with cloud solutions and high-speed connectivity.

Canteen

There are quite a few canteens inside MNIT, one of which is near the hostel and another is near the instructional zone. The Nescafe coffee shop provides refreshments to the students and staff beyond working hours. Moreover, ‘Annapurna’ the canteen of the campus offers diverse and hygienic food.

Sports

Various facilities are available for games, sports and co-curricular activities in an ample amount.

Banks

For the convenience of students and staff, there is a branch of SBI Bank and ICICI Bank inside the campus premises. Other banks of reputed stature such as SBI, PNB, OBC, etc. are also within walking distance from the campus.

Medical Facilities

A dispensary is available inside the campus to look into any health-related problems of a student with a team of highly educated medical staff on standby supervised by a residential medical officer.

Activities around the campus

Presuming that there are no pending projects and no upcoming exams, you can do a lot of exploring on the weekends, like:

1. A short trip to NCR, Agra, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Udaipur, Mount Abu, Jaisalmer (on an extended weekend), Sariska, Ranthambore, Salasar, Mehndipur, Sambhar Salt Lake, Padampura etc.

2. Local sightseeing like Nahargarh, Jaigarh, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Jal Mahal, Ram Niwas Bagh

3. Visiting places that consist of local cuisine and markets like Choki Dhani, Bapu Bazaar, Zohri Bazaar, Raja Park, Mansarovar, small streets deep inside the city area etc.

4. Hang out in numerous centrally located restaurants, cafes, and tea points. There are a few tea points in the Chardiwari area and at the Sindhi Camp that provides nice tea the whole night.

5. Ride a bike to the forts along beautifully illuminated city streets.

MNIT, Jaipur, is one of the most strategically located Engineering colleges in the country and has a lot to offer. Moreover, Jaipur, being a fine blend of a heritage city and a metropolis, will satiate all your needs.

About Jaipur

Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan, is a historical and beautiful city that has tourists visiting from all over the world. It is known by its pseudonym of "Pink City" because of the regional pink stones used for building the monuments. The bazaars are also important, just like the historical monuments are. Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur is recognised by the AICTE. MNIT has been accredited by the NBA. The college is one of the best NITs in the country and has also been ranked good by the bodies like NIRF, QS etc.

Yes, students who want to take admission to any course at the MNIT Jaipur can apply online. MNIT admissions are based on entrance test scores. The college gives BTech at the UG level and MBA, MCA, MSc and M.Tech courses at the PG level.

BTech and BArch are the two main UG courses given by the MNIT Jaipur at the UG level. The college also gives many courses at the PG level. Malaviya National Institute of Technology also has PhD and MBA courses.

Yes, MNIT Jaipur is a good college for doing the BArch course. The college has also been ranked 12 by NIRF 2025 in the Architecture & Planning category. After doing BArch from MNIT Jaipur, students can become urban planner, interior designer or even a project manager.
