GLA University's Best Courses

GLA University, located in Mathura, is one of the best private universities in Uttar Pradesh and the North for its quality education and decent placements. The university also conducts its own entrance test known as GLAET for admission into the various courses. It has been ranked as the best private university in Uttar Pradesh by Dainik Jagran in 2019 and 2020. Currently, the university offers admission into more than 80 courses, including graduate and postgraduate programmes. The admission process is still going on for some of the courses for the academic year 2022–23. Some of the top courses offered at the university are:

1. B.Tech: The University offers B.Tech degrees in Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics, and several other fields, with minor specialisation options. The eligibility criteria is that one must have scored 50% aggregate in 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The university conducts its own test, known as GLAET, of two-hour duration. As a private institute, the seat intake may range from 1000 to 1500 students from all engineering disciplines. The best companies/organizations that recruit from Engineering branches include JMC Projects (India) Ltd., Everest, Ultratech Cement, Mitsubishi, Honda, Accenture, Capgemini, Hitachi, LG, HP, Siemens, Suzuki, Infosys, Medlife, etc. The academic fee for the B.Tech programme is as follows:

• First Year - INR 1,66,000/- Second Year - INR 1,69,000/-
• Third Year - INR 1,72,000/-
• Fourth Year-INR 1,75,000/-

2. MBA (Construction Management): An aspirant must have scored 50% marks in Bachelors (Civil Engineering) to be eligible for an MBA (Construction Management).

The admission is based on the marks scored in the GLAET test, which consists of MCQ questions and the test duration is 90 minutes. Preference will be given to students securing a decent percentile in exams such as CAT, MAT, XAT, UPSEE, etc. The academic fee for the 2022-23 session is INR 1,66,000 for first-year students of an MBA in construction management. For more clarity and to meet the industry requirements, the curriculum also includes some sessions on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Building Information Modelling (BIM), big data, block chain etc. The academic fee for the MBA programme is as follows:

• INR 1,66,000/- for the first years
• INR 1,69,000/- for the second years

3. BBA: The eligibility criteria for this exam is that a student must have passed the 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks in any stream. The University conducts its own test known as GLAET, of one-hour duration, and on the basis of performance, students are selected. The course fee for this programme is as follows:

• INR 1,23,000/- for the first year students
• INR 1,25,000/- for the second year students
• INR 1,27,000/- for the third year students

4. MBA: The University offers an MBA programme in dual specialization. The admission is through GLAET or CAT, MAT, XAT, UPSEE, etc. Preference is given to candidates who have scored a good percentile in national level tests. For the academic session 2022–23, the university is charging an academic fee of INR 1,73,000 for first-year students. Being a private institute, the seat intake may vary from 300-400 students every year. The companies recruiting on a regular basis from the university includes HDFC Bank, Bandhan Bank, ITC, etc. The academic fee for the MBA programme is as follows:

• INR 1,73,000/- for the first year
• INR 1,76,000/- for the second year

5. Pharma: According to the NIRF rankings, Pharma is one of the top ranked courses in the university. The admission process consists of three rounds, i.e., an online MCQ test followed by GD and PI. The aspirant must have an aggregate of 50% marks in 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. For the academic session 2022-23, the university is charging an academic fee of INR 1,41,000 for the first year candidates, and the course duration is 4 years. This programme is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) with an intake capacity limited to 100. The companies which recruit on a regular basis from the university include Lotus Herbals, Apollo Hospitals, Lilly, Pfizer etc. The academic fee for Pharma is as follows:

• First Year - INR 1,41,000/- Second Year - INR 1,44,000/-
• Third Year - INR 1,47,000/-
• Fourth Year - INR 1,50,000/-

Apart from the academic fee mentioned above, caution money also needs to be deposited as

INR 5000/- for Diploma in Engineering, D.Pharm, B.Ed, B.Sc-

Chemistry/Physics/Agriculture, M.Sc-Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics, B.A. (English) and INR 10000/- for all other courses, which is refundable after successful completion of the course.

The university also provides various scholarships to meritorious students. The scholarship amount may vary from programme to programme as per the university norms. The overall placement is more than 75%.
