All the students need to mark their biometrics whenever they leave the hostel & return & in some cases, the warden may speak to their parents to check whether they are aware of the same or not, this generally happens with first-year students.

CCTVs are installed at multiple points to monitor the movement of students in the hostels.

GLA University provides hostel facilities to all outstation students. There are separate hostels for boys & girls with indoor gaming facilities such as carom, table tennis, etc. As of now, GLA University has 19 hostels of which 15 are for boys & 4 for girls and can accommodate more than 5,500 boarders. It is completely on the student whether he/she needs a single, double or triple sharing room. All the rooms are fully furnished & equipped with basic facilities such as bed, chair, table, almirah, proper lighting, dustbin, access to wifi, etc. All the first-year students are allotted rooms in the basic hostel. The students can also avail the laundry services provided within the campus on additional payment. Also, if one is interested to have an air-conditioned hostel, the same is provided at an additional payment of INR 30,000 per annum excluding the basic hostel fee. The hostel management takes care of the required discipline in the rooms & corridors. CCTVs are installed at multiple points to monitor the movement of students.

Rules & Regulations for Students

All the students need to mark their biometrics whenever they leave the hostel & return & in some cases, the warden may speak to their parents to check whether they are aware of the same or not, this generally happens with first-year students. Also, if a hosteller is not putting his/her biometrics before 10:30 PM, a text message is automatically sent to his/her parent about his absence. And if it continues for three consecutive days, the students will be fined INR 100 per day from day 4. The final entry time to the hostel is 10 PM for boys and any delay is viewed seriously. Students need prior permission from their parents & faculty concerned if they want to apply for a leave or want to go shopping, etc. during the initial days. If any hostel boarder is found accommodating his day scholar friend in the hostel at night, it is subject to a fine of up to INR 5,000 on both hostel boarder & day scholar as this is completely unacceptable and day scholars are not allowed to enter into hostels. Any boarder is not allowed to use electrical appliances such as a heater, blower, immersion rod, etc; if found during checking the equipment is seized by the hostel authorities and in some cases, it is fined also.

Mess Facilities

The mess provides nutritious vegetarian food prepared in hygienic conditions. Both the quantity & quality of the food provided is decent. The menu is also changed from time to time so that the students don’t get bored with the same food & taste. A student committee is formed to decide the menu as soon as the new batch starts, in consultation with the faculty members & hostel wardens.
