I am Dileep DS, born in Channarayapatna but brought up in Bangalore. I completed my schooling at Deepak School under the state board, and later, I pursued my pre-university education at Anupama Composite College, where I chose commerce. In 2022, I completed my Bachelor of Commerce at Bapu Degree College. After that, I wrote PGCET and secured a rank of 1500, which got me a seat at Acharya Bangalore B-School for my MBA. My hobbies include playing volleyball, storywriting, short movie making, traveling, and movie watching, among others.
Q1. How did you choose your course of study in school (class XI-XII)? What made you choose an MBA at Acharya Bangalore Business School (ABBS)?
During my school days, I was an above-average student, but I struggled with mathematics. Fearing that I would not be able to cope with the science stream after my SSLC, I chose Commerce (Computer Science, Economics, Business Studies, and Economics) for my PUC. After completing my PUC, I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) for my undergraduate studies. My ultimate goal was to pursue an MBA, so after completing my BCom, I wrote the Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) and secured a good rank, securing a seat in Acharya Bangalore B-School for my MBA.
Q2. How did you crack admission in Acharya Bangalore Business School? What all entrance test(s) did you give? Any coaching classes that you took for preparation? Any other colleges that you were trying out for? What challenges did you face while opting for ABBS?
I chose ABBS for several reasons. Firstly, it's located near my home, which made it convenient for me to commute. Secondly, I was impressed by the quality of education and the great infrastructure that the college has to offer. Additionally, the college has an excellent placement record, and it's a business school, which aligns with my interests. I was offered a seat in the first round itself, which further solidified my decision to join ABBS. To prepare for the entrance exam, I watched YouTube videos from various channels. These videos helped me understand the exam pattern, the type of questions that might be asked, and how to approach them. I also made sure to practice as many mock tests as I could, which helped me build my confidence and improve my time management skills. Overall, my preparation was self-driven, and I didn't attend any coaching classes.
Q3. How do you spend your time at college? Which classes do you like to attend? Which extra-curricular activities are you a part of in college? If given a chance, what else would you want to do? How has your college experience changed you as a person? What opportunities do you see in the future?
In ABBS, every day there is something new to learn. I used to spending most of my time in the classroom, canteen area, and sports room. I engage myself in club activities, sports activities, intra and inter-college activities, so this is how I spend my time in ABBS. Talking about my favorite class, I like all the classes, but the most interesting class is E & E (Entrepreneurship and Ethics), which is handled by our director, Dr. H.R. Venkatesha sir. Sir gives accurate and real information about entrepreneurship, which is very interesting.
There are many extracurricular activities where I engaged in, like I participated in sports, played volleyball, participated in intra-college activities (Udaan) and won the first place in HR club activity. I also participated in intra-college debate competition and won the second place, and I also participated in many inter-college festivals like Sursangram by Surana College, where I won the first place for short movie making, and also participated for best management team in Revotsava in Reva College, and many more. I just want to get into a reputed company where I can build my career and gain some good experience that will be helpful for my future. As a student of ABBS, I learned many things, but the most important thing I learned here is "to be a responsible person
Q4. What do you plan in future?
First, I want to get a good job in a reputable company where I can improve myself and my skills. After gaining some experience and exposure in the corporate world, I want to start my own startup.
