Introduction to the Christ University

Christ (Deemed to be University), founded in 1969, is a deemed university, with its main campus in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was known as Christ College earlier. It is a UGC recognized and NAAC-accredited college. The university has over 800 faculty members and admits over 25,000 students every year. It offers undergraduate, post-graduate, and research programmes at each of its campuses. All Christ campuses have a well-equipped infrastructure to promote academic and cultural activities. The Christ campuses have facilities for research studies; a library and information centres consisting of books and journals on multiple disciplines, which can be accessed by students of the university; IT offering services in admission process, online classes, live streaming of events, ERP, library, LMS, and Wi-Fi-facility around the campus; research labs for each department on each campus of Christ; one main auditorium with a large seating capacity and state-of-the-art facilities; mini auditoriums, amphitheatres, open-air theatres, galleries and CHRISTITE magazines. Each campus has its own hostel facilities, separate for male and female students. An NCC cadet programme is run by Christ and is open to male and female students to imbibe a sense of responsibility among the students. It is ranked 19th in the NIRF 2021 ranking list.

Login portal

Christ offers two types of login portals – Knowledge Pro (KP) Login and Moodle.

Knowledge Pro (KP)

KP is the student login and enterprise resource planning (ERP) portal for students belonging to Christ University. The campus management software provides online solutions for the academic needs of the students. The students can access their academic performance, attendance, timetable, earned credit, fee payment, financial details, etc. on the online portal. The credentials for the login are provided to each student at the start of their course. The platform is accessible on the web and on mobile phones.

Moodle

Moodle is the Learning Management System (LMS) platform used by Christ to provide the students an online platform to create online courses, add assignments, and track their progress. The platform enables the professors to create an online course to update the syllabus and learning material on the platform. Moodle also enables professors to grade the work of their students on the platform and upload marks. The students can use their registration number and password to access the platform, which they are informed about at the start of the course.

University Webmail

All the students are provided with a Christ email ID. The university's webmail is provided to communicate with their classmates, faculty, and office members. University notices and circulars are sent to the university email IDs of the students. The students are required to use only the university email ID to communicate with the university faculty and offices. As a matter of policy, the university responds to the emails sent by the students from their official email ID and does not respond to the emails sent from personal IDs.

Online teaching, learning, and meeting platforms

The online teaching sessions and meetings are held on the Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Zoom platforms. Students are required to use their university email IDs to log into these platforms for all university-related events.

SMS

Important information by the Christ that is required to be communicated to the students immediately and staff is sent by the university to their registered mobile numbers within the university.

Interactive Voice Response Systems (IVRS)

 IVRS facility is available over the phone 24/7. Students can check their attendance status, exam results and admission status with the help of the response-based AI system.
