Education provided by my institute has built an accomplished interior designer in me, says Naitri

I opted for Commerce stream in my high school, but then I realised  I don’t belong to this field. Upon successful completion of Class 12, I started exploring various programmes in the Interior Design domain. I was very keen to become an Interior Designer but was confused about which college to choose. While searching on social media, I came across the INSD page. I started exploring the college. This college offers the degree programes which I was searching for.

I found that this college not only focuses on academics but also keeps extracurricular activities in focus that impart practical knowledge to students. Faculty members are well educated as well as quite experienced in their fields. Exhibitions and workshops are conducted regularly to enhance the practical knowledge of students. Field visits are done to give practical exposure.

After going through all these details, I felt ‘This is the college, I am looking for’. The very next day I went to college for counseling session.

When I decided to become an Interior Designer, I started with basic drawing and designing classes. When I visited International School of Design, Kandivali, the counselor guided me through the complete curriculum of the programme. The counselor put some questionnaires for me that I had to answer. This college examines your interest and capacity to understand the subject through this process.

After these sessions, they promise to start your course from the foundation if you are new to this stream. So one should not hesitate if you are fresher in this field.

I am always freshening up with my interior lecture at INSD. We have three-hour long sessions for subjects. Our subject includes theory as well as practicals. Presentations make theory topics more interesting. Once lectures are finished, we have to work on extracurricular activities which I like more. I enjoy my designing classes along with construction and technical knowledge about it. Extracurricular activities such as display presentations, workshops, exhibitions give us practical and technical knowledge about the course. We are motivated by these activities as our college offers certificates for participation. Field trips, Industrial visits give us knowledge about material techniques.

INSD also offers the chance to décor the ramp for fashion shows. It’s my dream to design the set of ramp stage. I will definitely grab the opportunity, if selected for the same.

Our teachers have always encouraged us to participate in activities which I feel is very important to build confidence in you. I have flared up from all angles after the admission in INSD.

I feel that my institute has groomed me from all perspectives to handle all challenges. Education provided by my institute has built an accomplished interior designer in me.
