From the first day when I entered the campus and after looking at the campus, I was impressed with the environment over there, the greenery, hygiene condition maintained at campus and unending farms are just breathtaking! I found that the college has all the infrastructure required to shape the future of any students like a well-equipped seminar hall, a large central library where we found all the latest books, newspapers and journals, projector equipped classrooms.

After clearing my Class 10 exams from Sri Dasmesh School, Bajpur, I was in a dilemma situation about my stream for higher secondary education, and it was time to decide the stream for Intermediate. Some of my family members suggested me to take Science and some suggested to take Arts and some Commerce. At that time one of my seniors advised me to take commerce and explain the future in commerce, he also gave me an insight into the basics of accounts, economics, finance that build up my interest in this field. However, the suggestion of the senior created some interest but still, I was not sure whether go for commerce in Class 12 or other streams, so I did my SWOT and feel that playing with the numbers is my strength and commerce is the field of numbers. Hence, I decided to opt for Commerce in my higher secondary education. After completion of Class 12 from Sri Dasmesh School, Bajpur again I have to decide which college should I opt to pursue my graduation, I researched several B-Schools on the following criteria.

  • Infrastructure of the college
  • Placement activity of the college
  • Personal and social development of the students
  • Faculty experiences and exposure
  • Alumni Feedback.

Eventually, I shortlisted a few colleges and finally decided to go with Amrapali Group of Institutes, Haldwani. During my graduation, I developed even more interest in accounting and Human Resource and decided to specialise in Human Resource Management in Bcom (Hons) and decided to pursue my career in a private company.

As I am from Bajpur, which is far from the college, so I opted for the hostel facility.

My college life experience has been great. I learned different things during my college life, I think all the qualities which we required to survive in life I learned during my three years journey in college. Not only the infrastructure but also the faculty members working in the college are awesome, each faculty members are ready to help each and every student, I remembered that some of our batch mates discussed their problem with the faculty members after college hours and faculty members respond positively. College plays a very important role in shaping my career, it gives me the opportunity to explore and enhance my skills by participating in extracurricular activities organised by the college at the central and department level. College fest provides me an opportunity to interact with my peers and form a new connection, most of the activities organised during the fest were group activities, these healthy interactions not only enhance my interpersonal and communication skills, the experiences learned due to participation in college fest makes me able to take decision in tough to the toughest situation. I found that all the faculty members to whom I interact during my UG, all of them have a great industry experience in their domain and these experiences are reflected during the classroom sessions. They share the latest trends and practices followed in the market.

Placement activities at the college level are very good and promising. I remembered that I started to participate in different placement activities since I was in the fifth semester, a separate team specially designated for preparing students for placement activities, they guided us how to crack aptitude test, how to face group discussion and how response during personal interaction. All the work done by the college during placement helped me to crack an interview of different companies, here I also want to give the credit to the college to make me what I am today.
