Chairman NIIT University Receives ‘Lifetime Achievement Award‘ from Dataquest

August 22, 2020: At ICT Conference and Awards 2019 held virtually on August 18, renowned Indian magazine Dataquest felicitated Chairman and Co-Founder NIIT Group and Founder NIIT University Rajendra S Pawar with ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his contribution in shaping the growth of the Indian IT sector.

Awarded with one of the prestigious civil honours of the nation Padma Bhushan by President of India in 2011, Pawar has been instrumental in cultivating NIIT into leading Global Talent Development Corporation. With his leadership, NIIT has always helped driving the Indian IT Industry’s growth by developing a professional workforce that could raise the momentum of the industry. NIIT University Appoints Dr Prabhu Aggarwal as President

July 7, 2020: NIIT University announced that it has appointed Dr Prabhu Aggarwal as President. He will be succeeding Professor V S Rao, whose tenure with the University ended on June 30. Dr Aggarwal is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur and MBA & PhD degree holder from University of Washington, Seattle (USA) in Operations Management. He became the founding Vice-Chancellor of OP Jindal University and later academic consultant at the National Rail and Transportation Institute, among other things, since he returned to India in 2012.

Dr Aggarwal has vast strategic experience in the fields of Engineering, Process Management, Education and Leadership Development spanning more than three decades. He has also led a Career Development Program at Mason School of Management, College of William & Mary, Virginia, USA.

NIIT University to Conduct Classes Online Amid Coronavirus

March 23, 2020: With the outbreak of Covid-19 in the country, NIIT University has decided to continue with the classes online. The University is not only holding lectures through video conferencing but is also facilitating virtual labs to demonstrate experiments.

President NIIT University, says it is our duty to facilitate faculty with all required facilities to work from home. Hence we are shipping laptops and desktops to their places. Also this year the admissions will not be conducted in a traditional way. Prospective students can take the entrance test online and interact with the faculty members online.

A wide variety of technology, including computer analysis and facial recognition, can now help monitor students’ performance and chart the success in no time. 

NIIT University Wins ‘University of the Year’ Award

March 12, 2020: At the 10th Annual Indian Education Congress & Awards 2020, NIIT University was recognised as the University of the Year (North). The award was presented for innovation in higher education and emerging areas of knowledge society.

NIIT University to Hosts TEDx on March 1

February 27, 2020: NIIT University is hosting another session of TEDx Talks at the university campus on March 1. The theme for the event is Quo Vadis. University has invited experts from various walks of life as speakers to share their success stories, challenges and experiences faced in life. The speakers invited are:

• Actor and writer Dhruv Shah
• Runner Up Miss India, 2016 contest Sushruthi Krishna
• Environmentalist, Social impact entrepreneur and engineer Tirthak Saha
• IIT graduate and procurer of the special duty medal, for meritorious services rendered to the police force Dig Shalin
