Q: What is the process to get admission to BTech programme at Karunya University?

A: As a part of Karuna University admission process, applicants need to fill-up the form online on the institute’s official website by paying a nominal fee of Rs 1,000. The eligible candidates then need to undergo Karunya Entrance Exam (KEE 2020). Basis of the merit scores and qualifying exam scores, the admission will be offered to students.

To go through the complete admission process, it is important for applicants to fulfil the eligibility criteria which means the applicants must have a minimum aggregate of 60 per cent in Physics and Mathematics with Chemistry or Biology as core subjects in Class 12.

Q: What are the various programmes and specialisations offered in BTech?

A: The University offers a plethora of options to students to choose from such as:

Aerospace Engineering

Civil Engineering (Specialisation in Smart Infrastructure)

CSE (Data Analytics)

Food Processing and Engineering

Biomedical Engineering

Computer Engineering

Electrical and Computer Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Biotechnology

Computer Science & Engineering (CSE)

Electronics and Communications Engineering

ME (Digital Manufacturing)

Civil Engineering

CSE (Artificial Intelligence)

Electronics and Communications Engineering

Robotics and Automation

Q: What is the cost of programme? Do you also offer hostel facility?

A: The total cost of the programme varies between Rs 7.24-8.24 lakh, depending upon the programme or the specialisation chosen. It also includes the one-time admission fee of Rs 10,000.

This is a residential programme which means we also offer accommodation facilities on campus. We have hostels that act like a home away from home to students. The hostel fee varies between Rs 38,500-82,500 depending upon the type of facility students choose. We have a dormitory, quad sharing, triple, double and single occupancy rooms with air-conditioned and non-air conditioned options.

Q: Are there any scholarships for students?

A: We do offer scholarships to students basis on their merit scores in class 12. The scholarship amount varies between Rs 40,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh per year.

To be eligible for scholarships, the student must have a minimum aggregate of 60 per cent in Physics and Mathematics with Chemistry or Biology.

Q: Can you share some recent placement trends?

A: Karunya has a track record of 100 per cent placement for eligible students. About 20 per cent of students choose to pursue higher studies or become an entrepreneur. The most recent placement trend that we can share if for 2020 passing out students.

So far, 1,044 offers have been made to 786 students by over 160 corporates. We have almost all big and reputed corporates participating in our placement activity such as Accenture, Amazon, Capgemini, Infosys, TATA, Bosch, Zoho, Everest, EY, HSBC, Hyundai, IBS, Nestle, Wipro, Sony, Titan, Tech Mahindra, LnT, HP, Shapoorji Pallonji, IBM, Siemens and Oracle.

We have witnessed the maximum package of Rs 19.5 LPA and an average package of Rs 9 LPA. The minimum package stood at Rs 6 LPA.

No, but you can apply for MBA at Karunya SOM using valid scores from national level entrance scores. In case, if you have not taken a national-level exam, you should appear for the Karunya Management Aptitude Test (KMAT), which is conducted by the university specifically for admission to MBA

CAT is one of the accepting exams for MBA admission at Karunya School of Management. However, it is not compulsory. Aspirants can also apply through XAT, MAT or KMAT scores. Candidates must also complete graduation to apply for MBA at KSM Coimbatore.
