KARUNYA UNIVERSITY MAKES HISTORY WITH WORLD BOOK OF RECORD
Coimbatore, October 8, 2026: Karunya University, Coimbatore, has created a remarkable milestone by entering the World Book of Records, UK, for organising the largest synchronized tribute to teachers on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day.
In a powerful expression of gratitude, respect and unity, 7,000 students of Karunya University came together to create a giant human formation displaying the message “KARUNYA’S TRIBUTE TO TEACHERS”. Simultaneously, the students signed specially designed appreciation cards within 60 seconds, creating a unique and memorable tribute to teachers.
The record celebrates the invaluable contribution of teachers who inspire, guide and shape generations. The achievement also marks a significant milestone in Karunya University’s 40-year journey, reflecting the institution’s emphasis on gratitude, community participation and collective action.
The World Book of Records, UK certificate was presented by Ms. Ankita Shah, Chartered Officer, World Book of Records, UK, to the leadership of Karunya University, formally recognising the achievement.
Speaking on the achievement, Dr. Paul Dhinakaran, Chancellor and Founder, Karunya University, said, “Teachers are the architects who shape lives, inspire dreams and build generations. This world record is not merely a recognition for Karunya University, but a heartfelt tribute from thousands of students to every teacher who has made a difference in their lives. It is a beautiful expression of gratitude that will remain a memorable part of Karunya University’s 40-year journey.”
The record was accomplished through the collective efforts of Karunya University, the Rotaract Club of Karunya University and the National Service Scheme (NSS), with the active participation of 7,000 students. The achievement stands as a memorable tribute to teachers and a landmark celebration of Karunya University’s 40 years of service and commitment to education.
