I am good at balancing my studies and fun time: Sankhayan Ganguly

My parents wanted me to pursue science but I wasn't that good at Maths, so PCM was out of the box. But my parents still wanted me to take PCMB.

The course I selected in school and the course I'm currently pursuing in college are both completely different. My stream for 11-12th was PCB(Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). My parents wanted me to pursue science and hence I had to choose between PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths)/ PCB/ PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology).

To be honest, I wasn't that good at Maths, so PCM was out of the box. But my parents still wanted me to take PCMB. That was too much for me. On the other hand, I was pretty good at Chemistry and Biology, so I took PCB. Then after my Boards, I had to choose a course for further studies. My parents told me that I could choose any course I wanted to and that I should select a course in which I genuinely have an interest in. Hence, I chose BFA - Animation. By that time, I had already worked as a freelancer - editing and designing things. I had been working with software like Photoshop, Coral Draw, Adobe Premiere Pro, and After Effects and Maya for apparently 2 years then. I chose Amity University, Lucknow because of its reputation and mainly because I didn't want to leave Lucknow.

I wasn't trying out for any other colleges. I didn't take any coaching classes for the entrance exam because I was pretty confident about clearing it. I had to give an MCQ test, an on-spot drawing/sketching test and at the last, there was an interview round. Now the problem was I wasn't aware of the drawing/sketching test. The MCQ test was easy, it had basic questions. Then I gave the sketching test and it was okay. The interview round was pretty good. I showed them my work too and they were impressed. The entrance exam was hassle free and smooth and I was selected.

I am good at balancing my studies and fun time. My college days are going pretty smoothly. I enjoy attending graphic designing classes. I'm a drummer so I also take part in competitions and programs. I also joined a band from Amity. If I'm given a chance, I would like to progress in the music industry professionally. My college experience has been very good.  I met a lot of people with different hobbies, interests, and different taste in things. College is a pretty good platform for everyone. My college life has also taught me to interact more easily with people and to mix well in a pretty different environment.
