Engineering Colleges accepting JEE Main for B.Tech in West Bengal - Other

College of Engineering and Management, Kolaghat (CEMK) is a government-aided Engineering institute,  located in Kolaghat Thermal Power Plant Township of West Bengal Power Development Corporation,  Kolaghat, West Bengal. Established in 1998, CEMK is affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, formerly known as WBUT. The institute is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. NAAC has accredited the institute with a grade 'A'.

The Candidates must have give the entrance Examination like WBJEE. The aggregate marks for admission into B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.A, B.Sc., integrated undergraduate courses. To take admission into B.Tech/ B.Pharm courses are offered through WBJEE. This is a state-government controlled centralized test, Which is conducted by the WBJEE Board. The Candidate must have 10+2 with 45% marks. The University also accept the entrance examinations like SSU or WBJEE.

Both IIT Kharagpur and IIT Bombay are among the top institutes to pursue a B.Tech. In computer Science and engineering. Here is a small comparison: 1. Raking: The IIT Bombay has been ranked 3rd by NIRF, whereas the IIT Kharagpur has been ranked 5th in the 2022 rankings. 2. Fees: The course fee is similar at both institutions, at around Rs. 8 Lacs. 3. Infrastructure: Both colleges have decent infrastructure. The campus at IIT Bombay is better and more student-friendly than IIT Kharagpur. 4. Popularity: The CSE branch of IIT B is more popular than IIT K. It is evident in the cut-off ranks of JEE Advanced. The cutoff for IIT B was 63, which was higher than the closing rank of 283 for IIT K. 5. Placement: The placement rate at IIT-B is better than that at IIT-K. Almost 99 percent of CSE graduates were placed at IIT-B in previous batches. IIT-B had the highest placement salary package of any IIT at INR 22.7 LPA (domestic). Therefore, from a placement perspective, the student prefers IIT Bombay over IIT Kharagpur.

NIT Durgapur was ranked at 44 under the 'Engineering' category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2024 rankings. BTech is the flagship programme of NIT Durgapur, admission to which is based on JEE Main score. Once BTech is completed, students get to participate in the placement drive. The 2024 placement session concluded with 72.08% of the BTech batch placed. A total of 568 job offers were given to BTech students. NIT Durgapur average package for BTech stood at INR 7.35 LPA and the highest package offered was INR 51 LPA.

IIEST Shibpur BTech cutoff 2025 for the Aerospace Engineering branch in the last round was 36842 for the General AI category. In 2024 and 2023, the last round cutoff was 26815 and 28672, respectively. This difference in the ranks says that the cutoff trend has been decreasing over the year for this category. Please remember that the cutoff trend for other categories will vary accordingly. 

No, candidates cannot get direct admission in BTech courses offered by Institute of Engineering and Management. Candidates will need to appear for IEMJEE in order to qualify for BTech admissions. Selection will be done during the following counselling rounds.
