Engineering Colleges accepting JEE Main for B.Tech in Kolkata

This year, a total of 18,951 seats are available across all 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

The institutes that participate in JoSAA counselling are:

No. There is no qualifying percentile in JEE Main. However, the candidates who want to appear in JEE Advanced will have to get a minimum qualifying percentile in JEE Mains. This minimum qualifying percentile is announced with the JEE Main session 2 reult.

The JEE Main cutoff is the minimum percentile score required to qualify for the JEE Advanced exam. Its is released with the April session result.

Yes, BTech admissions are open at Institute of Engineering and Management for 2026. Candidates can still apply to appear in the IEMJEE exam to qualify for BTech admissions. Only IEMJEE online mode exam is open for admissions.

The courses offered by the 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, IISC Bangalore, 26 IIITs and 40 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) via the JoSAA counselling includes:

• BTech in various Engineering disciplines.
• BSc programs in Science.
• BArch in Architecture.
• Dual Degree programs like B.Tech-MTech and BS-MS.
• Integrated M.Tech and Integrated MSc programs.

JIS College of Engineering accepts the following entrance exam scores for admission to BTech:
1- WB-JEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination)
2- JEE Main (Joint Entrance Examination Main)
3- CEE AMPAI (Common Entrance Examination AMPAI)
Candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria set by JIS College of Engineering with a valid score in any of the above entrance exams can apply for admission to the BTech program. The admission process is conducted through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) or Association of Minority Professional Academic Institutes (AMPAI). The merit list is prepared by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT) for counseling.

It seems that NIT Narula Institute of Technology provides students pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) with an unequal experience. However, in terms of affordability, Swami Vivekananda University, Barrackpore is a better option since the total tuition fee for Swami Vivekananda University, Barrackpore is INR 215,000 - INR 325,000 and the total tuition fee for B.E. / B.Tech at Techno Main Salt Lake is INR 367,000. In the total fees that students generally end up paying the university or the college, various other components are also included, such as the exam fee, application fee, lab and other charges.

Calcutta University BTech admission does not require candidates to mandatorily appear in WBJEE. A valid score of JEE main is also accepted for granting admission into BTech at University of Calcutta. However, first preference will be given to candidates applying through WBJEE.
