Engineering Colleges accepting JEE Main for B.Tech in West Bengal

This year, a total of 18,951 seats are available across all 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).

JEE Main counselling and seat allotment has many processes. Once seat is allotted to a candidate, you have option of Accept and Freeze, Accept and Float and Slide. If you are satisfied with allotted seat and select first option, you cannot participate in next round counselling. If you are not satisfied, select second or third option to participate in next round with the current seat.

JEE Mains syllabus can be completed in 6 months considering that almost every topic of JEE syllabus is similar to class 11 and 12 syllabus. However, completing the syllabus does not mean that candidates will get a good score. JEE Main exam tests your conceptual and analytical understanding of topics. To get a good score, you need to have good understanding of core concepts and also use to of applying them in solving numerical questions.

The clear answer is no. An online BTech degree is not valid in India anymore. It is not approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) because of a variety of reasons. One important reason is zero practical exposure. Technical programs like BTech are meant for the professional world, which demands technical expertise and advanced skills that is not possible in the online mode. Secondly, there is no lab assistance possible in online BTech courses, making it less valuable than regular face-to-face BTech programs.

Since, the UGC also does not recognize an online degree, there are hardly any job opportunities for online BTech degree holders in government organizations. Further, private job providers as well as MNCs also do not give value to online BTech anymore.

The average cost of studying BTech courses abroad is somewhere between INR 70 Lakh and INR 90 lakh. This is just an estimated average figure, which is subject to vary as per your chosen university and BTech specialization. Taking the example of the popular universities in the USA, the first-year tuition fee itself for BTech courses at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is between INR 50 Lakh and INR 52 lakh.
Another such example is from Singapore, the BTech course's first-year tuition fee at the National University of Singapore is between INR 11.15 Lakh and INR 25.05 lakh. So, you should be very mindful of your financial situation before deciding to shift abroad for your BTech education.

IIEST Shibpur BTech cutoff 2026 for the Aerospace Engineering specialisations in round 1 was 31402 for the General AI category. In 2025 and 2024, the first round cutoff was 27707 and 28523, respectively. This difference in the ranks says that the competition has been fluctuating over the past 3 years for this category. 

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam takes place in the month of April every year. Whereas, the application form for Session 2 will be available on the JEE Mains website. The exam is conducted by NTA.

MCKV Institute of Engineering and NIT - Narula Institute of Technology both are renowned universities for B.E. / B.Tech. However, in terms of affordability, MCKV Institute of Engineering is a better option since the total tuition fee for MCKV Institute of Engineering is INR 365,200 and the total tuition fee for B.E. / B.Tech at NIT - Narula Institute of Technology is INR 366,359 - INR 699,900. In the total fees that students generally end up paying the university or the college, various other components are also included, such as the exam fee, application fee, lab and other charges.

Heritage Institute of Technology offers a Full Time BE/BTech programme that lasts 4 years. It is available in 21 specializations. Students can apply for B.Tech at HIT provided they clear the selection process. The total number of seats alloted for B.Tech programme is 1140 and it is distributed into all the specilizations. Students who want to get into HIT must clear the eligibility criteri aset by the institute for B.Tech i.e. must have passed 10+2 from a recognised university, must secure a valid score at JEE Mains and clear the cutoff. Once the qualify candidates are shortlisted they are called for counselling and based oon their ranking the seats are alloted to them.

The UEM Kolkata average package CSE offered during the 2024 placement drive is yet to be published on the official website. Once the UEM Kolkata CSE average package is released, it will be updated on this page. However, the overall average package during UEM placement 2024 stood at INR 8.48 LPA. However, in terms of affordability, Swami Vivekananda University, Barrackpore is a better option since the total tuition fee for Swami Vivekananda University, Barrackpore is INR 215,000 - INR 325,000 and the total tuition fee for B.E. / B.Tech at Techno Main Salt Lake is INR 367,000. In the total fees that students generally end up paying the university or the college, various other components are also included, such as the exam fee, application fee, lab and other charges.

The Candidates must have give the entrance Examination like WBJEE. The aggregate marks for admission into B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.A, B.Sc., integrated undergraduate courses. To take admission into B.Tech/ B.Pharm courses are offered through WBJEE. This is a state-government controlled centralized test, Which is conducted by the WBJEE Board. The Candidate must have 10+2 with 45% marks. The University also accept the entrance examinations like SSU or WBJEE.
