During school, I was not sure about the stream I wanted to pursue further. However, in the end, I decided to go with Commerce stream as I had an interest in the field of finance. I decided to study Finance and make a career in the same field. So for that Commerce was the best choice for me. Most of my family members are engineers but I always wanted to pursue something different from them. This was also one of the reasons for choosing Commerce as my stream.

I wish to pursue a Master of Business Administration in the future and so I chose the Bachelor of Business Administration course for my undergraduate degree. I thought it would be the best choice for me on a personal level.

I had applied to various colleges around the country. I finally got admission to MIT-WPU, Kothrud, Pune.  The biggest reason for me to choose this college is that it is in my hometown. It is a well-renowned institute in Pune and provides an intriguing course curriculum. I chose the BBA course as it will help me in fulfilling my dreams and goals. It will further help me in pursuing MBA and to understand the processes of international businesses and to have a more global approach towards it.

The college conducts an aptitude test called the Undergraduate Programme Entrance Test (UG PET) for the students. The students have to qualify in this test to get admission to the BBA course. After clearing the aptitude test the students have to go through a Group Discussion round. If the students clear the group discussion round they are sent to the next round which is the Personal Interview. The personal interview is conducted by the faculty members of the college itself. After clearing all three rounds students get admission to the college.

I started studying for the aptitude test a month before the exam. In the beginning, I use to study for fewer hours but then I started studying more seriously. The aptitude test was of 100 marks with questions of logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, vocabulary, etc. It was just like any regular entrance examination. I didn’t take any coaching classes but I referred to some books and online study material to practice the vocabulary and quantitative part of the exam.

Our lectures start at 1 in the afternoon and end at 6 in the evening. In between the lectures, we have breaks in which we roam around the campus and go to the canteen or eateries around the campus for some snacks. We also complete various assignments given by the professors on the campus. Each lecture is of 50 minutes and there is a gap of 10 minutes between each lecture. After the first three lectures they provide a 30-minute recess to the students and then there are two more lectures after the recess.

Various clubs in the college organize several activities for the students. In the first year of my course, we had subjects like Economics, Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, HR Management Principles of Management, Statistics, Mathematics. There are elective subjects like Computer Fundamentals and Business Communication. Along with this, we had Value Added Program subjects like Peace, Environmental studies, and Yoga. I enjoy all the lectures but personally, I like Mathematics, Accounts, HR Management, and Economics.

The college also organizes many extracurricular activities. I took part in tree plantation drives. I also volunteer in several other activities also. I am also enrolled in a club.
