Student Review of AJK College of Arts and Science

Placements: Above 90% of the students were placed in the academic year 2021-2024. The top recruiting company is General Mills, Mumbai. The top roles offered are Document Specialists. The highest package offered is 4.5 LPA and the lowest is 2.5 LPA. The average package is around 3.0 LPA. Internships were arranged by the college management in various companies.

Infrastructure: The campus is eco-friendly and also has free Wi-Fi for students. The college has three well-equipped computer labs with all the necessary software. The classrooms are equipped with projectors and internet connections. The library has a decent number of books and a well-lit space to sit and study. The canteen serves fresh and good food. The college conducts sports events where students can participate as teams.

Faculty: The teachers are qualified and have decent knowledge of the field with relevant experience. They are easily approachable and willing to help. The course curriculum is relevant, starting with basic concepts from earlier semesters and progressing to advanced topics. The practical application of these topics has room for improvement. Some faculty members are not experienced enough to handle certain topics.

Other: The best aspect of the course is that it combines both Computer Science and Data Analytics. The Data Analytics curriculum, however, doesn't focus enough on basics and is quite advanced for beginners to grasp. There are at least six major events; "Starnite" and "Diwas" are the biggest among them. Starnite is a concert and Diwas is an intercollege competition and cultural fest. Local festivals such as Onam and Pongal are celebrated with grandeur. The campus is situated near mountains, offering beautiful and exhilarating views. The campus is located outside city limits, so getting to the college on your own might be a bit of a hassle. However, the college provides cheap and reliable transport facilities that cover distances up to 100 km from the college. Students are given a platform to showcase their extracurricular activities.

It is a very good college.

Placements: You need to pay exam fees separately, you need to complete 1 internship project. You also need to submit the internship report after the semester break.

Infrastructure: Hostels are available in this college. The food served in the hostel is average. Wi-Fi is available but we can use only up to 1 GB per day. Classrooms are good. Smart rooms are also available. It also provides a decent library. Medical facilities are average. Sports and games are also good.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful but self-study is important in this college. They are very knowledgeable. The course curriculum is not relevant and it does not make students ready for the industry. Self-education is a matter in this college. Semester exams are not easy to pass.

Other: The course is very unique so I chose this course. Events are also conducted. The fee structure is Rs 30,000 per month. There are 6 semesters in this course.

Life at AJK College of Arts and Science.

Placements: Almost 100% of students get placements in our college. The highest salary package offered is 7.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 4.5 LPA. It all depends on backlogs. If you have backlogs, you won't get placements in multinational companies. We have to make sure to not get any backlogs. Top recruiting companies are Infosys, Wipro, TCS, etc.

Infrastructure: Our college does have a lot of facilities such as Wi-Fi, computer labs, a library, and digital classrooms. Two students can sit on one bench. Our classrooms are neat. They use trending technologies for teaching. Computer labs are top-notch.

Faculty: Teachers are good. Some teachers are not very good so you have to learn on your own. The computer science course is good. It makes us industry-ready. They teach us industry-ready courses and programming. We do not need to worry. Semester exams are easy if you learn. You need to score at least 30% to pass.

Poor experience. Average college with low facilities and infrastructure .

Placements: B.Sc. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning was introduced to the college in 2019. The first batch students on this course are doing their final year studied right now. So nobody has been placed in this course anyway. But college offers campus placement with an average package of 2.5 Lacs on every course and almost 60% of the students of the college are finding job through that. Infosys, Wipro, TCS, Mahindra etc. Are the main companies approaching the college for campus placements every year.

Infrastructure: College has a total strength of almost 1200 students which is a low number when compared to other colleges in Coimbatore. College only has one block having 4 floors in total. Every class has smart boards. No auditorium is there in the college. Only a seminar hall to conduct official meetings is available. Colleges hostel for men is a single building with a housing capacity of almost 60 students. Facilities and infrastructure lf the hostel is so pathetic. Girls hostel is available in the college. But most of the female students are taking private hostel nearby the college because of the lack of facilities and food issues. Food is a main issue while staying there. Tamilnadu style food is prepared everyday in the hostel. College canteen provides better food than in the hostel. But everything in the canteen is overpriced. College has teams for several games like Football, Cricket etc. But the training facilities are average. College has its own gym where students can take admission with a fees.

Faculty: Faculty is average in the college. Most of the lectures just have a post graduation degree. There are no specific lectures for some subjects so one teacher has to take multiple subjects. This is a problem where students will not have a proper guidance from a person who has excellence in a particular subject, especially in the case of programming languages. Course curriculum is relevant but only the basics of topics are covered in the classes. Students are not having a proper and efficient skill to manage real life problems with that type of teaching.

Other: Poor infrastructure, Poor campus crowd. Not a good environment to study. Almost every classes has an average of 20 which is a low. Enthusiastic to conduct events but lack of facilities to hold a crowd is a problem .

It has good infrastructure, but it is a little bit overpriced.

Placements: It's difficult to say about the percentage of students, but a good number of students are well placed in top companies, mostly in Bangalore. Most of the students placed are in the IT sector, and a huge chunk of them are doing the Master's course there. The hotel management and catering science departments are also quite successful.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is absolutely excellent. There's Wi-Fi and several labs, which let you in if you have a lab pass. The same goes for the library facilities. Almost all classrooms are 21st century ready with projectors and smartboards. However, the hostel is subpar and not very good to stay in if you're used to staying in posh rooms. The hostel food is also just manageable. There are facilities for games and a gym.

Faculty: Some of the teachers are well qualified, but the quality of the teaching is not uniform. The curriculum is also relevant, although it certainly lags behind in real-world applications since most of the teaching is focused on the syllabus. Semester exams are fairly tough. The pass percentage is usually above 80%.

Other: I chose the course because of my genuine interest in the subject. Although I wish the course had more real-world scenarios and applications in it. There are at least 2-3 events and festival celebrations per year. It has an excellent campus life and reasonable faculty members.

Good place for celebrations.

Placements: About 50% of students got placed. The average salary offered is Rs. 30,000 per month. Top companies like IBM, Infosys, Microsoft, etc., are the recruiting companies. College ensures that everyone reaches a good placement. Almost 80% of students secured internships.

Infrastructure: Almost every facility like lab and library is provided. Campus itself is provided with free Wi-Fi. A well-ambient library is available. Well-structured smart classrooms are available. Hostel has a Wi-Fi facility. The quality of food is average. Sports and games are given importance as studies.

Faculty: Every teacher is well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is also quite good. The course AIML has a good future and teachers make sure we reach the correct destination. Teachers support students in every possible way. Semester exams are good for testing our knowledge.

Other: As artificial intelligence is a growing field I like to study it. Our campus is an eco-friendly campus so it is always clean. Festivals are celebrated in a nice way.
