Strong academics and facilities, but limited placements and occasional infrastructure issues.
Placements: 70% percent of students are placed in our course. LPU's placement record includes 2,100+ recruiters, 5,500+ offers from Fortune 500 companies, and 350+ recruiters from IITs. The average salary for the top 25% of placed students is 10.1 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are TCS, Wipro, and other companies. Top roles offered include analyst and consulting positions.
Infrastructure: Our theory class is normally in the class hall, but our lab class is held in the AC room, and there is Wi-Fi in the library. The facilities and infrastructure available for a typical academic course department include classrooms, laboratories, a library, and Wi-Fi access. Classrooms are often equipped with projectors, whiteboards, and comfortable seating. Laboratories, tailored to specific disciplines, provide specialized equipment for practical learning. Our facilities are very good. Professors are very helpful. Food quality is average. Sports and games are held in our college.
Faculty: Our faculties are very good. Professors are very helpful. It makes the students industry ready. Semester exams are tough in this college, but the pass percentage is 75%. A relevant curriculum is crucial for preparing students for the workforce. It ensures that the knowledge and skills taught align with the demands of the modern industry, making graduates more competitive and ready for their chosen careers.

Pros and cons of our college, Ashutosh College.
Placements: A minimum 60% is needed to participate in this course. Minimum package is 5 LPA and maximum package is Rs. 50,00,000 per year. TCS, Jio Digital, Apple, and Multimedia Tech companies are recruiters. 70% students got internships from my course in multimedia companies. Data analyst role offered.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, library, AC classrooms, clean toilets, canteen, hall, common room, and gym are available in our college, and a lab room is available in our department. Food quality is good and tasty as well. I never use a mess, so I can't explain, but medical facilities are well. Indoor games and outdoor games are both available, and tournaments are held.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful in our college. They help us with our studies and games. Our course curriculum is very much relevant, and it will make us industry-ready, surely. Semester is quite difficult. Students need to manage their time very accurately, otherwise, it's hard to clear the semester.

BAD FACILITIES AFTER DRAINING OUT OUR MONEY.
Placements: There are no placements that the college provides for students, but you have to be inclusive in all activities to achieve them. Most of the placements require 2 to 3 years of experience in a specific field; the rest are B.Tech or M.Sc. based. The highest package last year that the college provided was 7 LPA, but we do get packages like 12-14 LPA. As I said, you need experience for at least 2 years to apply for them. With the new 4-year quota for B.Sc., everyone has to do an internship to apply for examinations, so there's a guaranteed internship that the college provides. To get placements, you just need to work on your skills to get a high-paying job; the college doesn't really provide guaranteed placements at all. As for the top roles, I don't know much, but once I saw some companies were hiring interns for cybersecurity, data analyst, and web development roles.
Infrastructure: The new 4-year quota is trash, to be honest. I'm from the batch where I had a 3-year quota, so the syllabus is mostly B.Tech based. As for the infrastructure, the faculty just drains out our money and doesn't really use it for student facilities. In the 2nd semester, our teachers complained about being given cheap capacitors for our practicals to our department HOD, but she said there's nothing she can do. There is only 1 PC with an Intel i5 processor, which is not for student use. They're providing PCs with Windows 7 and Notepad as the IDE. I don't know much about the hostel, as I didn't apply for it, and the hostel is about 30 minutes by bus from the college campus. However, some of my friends lived there, and they said the food was very good for a hostel; they arrange a feast once a month, and most importantly, it's ragging-free.
Faculty: Some of the faculty members are quite knowledgeable and provide motivation, but some of them are very rude. If I write something wrong, they'll just abuse me, saying that I can't do anything, etc. However, some of them are really good and motivating; I can just call them for a specific problem, and they'll give me a special lesson for that topic until I understand it. As I mentioned, the course for us is B.Tech based, but the new quota doesn't have a specific order in the syllabus; they'll teach you Android programming before Java, whereas you need to learn Java first to understand Android programming. As for the exams, they're not usually tough; most of the questions are from previous years, but the checking is hard. They won't give you any marks unless you fill out the whole sheet for a 2-mark question. The passing percentage is 30%, and even students who scored above 80% in boards struggle to achieve those marks.
Other: I like computers and their mechanics, which is why I chose this. To be honest, I wanted to do the B.Tech course, but the course fees are too high, so I applied for this. The best thing about this course is that you can learn how a computer works, how technology is connected to our daily lives, and how we can improve it. Programming can lead to a high-paying job in the near future. The things that I would like to see removed are the assembly language syllabus, as it's of no use to us; instead, teach us some new languages that may help us in the near future, like Rust, ReactJS, or MongoDB. The college is filled with events for freshers every second day of the week, but there hasn't been a fest provided until now; instead, the authority arranges Teachers' Day events, etc. We haven't even had any excursions till now, and I'm in my 3rd year right now. As for the campus, it's quite huge but scattered, and if you want to enjoy your college life, you just need to be extroverted. The college union may influence you to join them for popularity, but it's up to you if you want to join or not.

Best for Environmental Science.
Placements: No proper initiative is taken by my college to give students placement. The job fair arrangements and career counselling are provided sometimes, but there are no direct placement opportunities. Many students got placed utilizing their own ability, there is no such contribution from our college.
Infrastructure: Good infrastructure in my college. All essential facilities like labs, library, Wi-Fi, common rooms, and canteen are there. Also, students can stay at hostels with proper arrangements. My college encourages sports, and there are very comfortable infrastructures for studies and extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Especially in my department, Environmental Science, teachers are very supportive and friendly. They have created a comfortable environment for learning and progressing. Our faculty members are experts in their field. Their way of teaching is outstanding and can make anyone passionate about this subject. For studies and extracurricular activities.
Other: I chose this college because Asutosh College is the best college for the Environmental Science B.Sc. course. Environmental Science gives me a whole new world of realization about my existence on this planet. I am becoming a new person with a new perspective on our environment. This is the best thing I have ever had.

Professors are very helpful, the library is also very good, and seniors are helpful.
Placements: There are more than 90 students who are placed in this course. B.Sc. Geography has no placements in Asutosh College. After pursuing a Master's degree or any specialisation in geography, a placement is available. Asutosh College is a grade A college by NAAC.
Infrastructure: The labs, classrooms, library, and Wi-Fi connections are good. The canteen is also good. The common room has lots of space. Medical facilities are also available. Sports and games play a very important part in college life. Only the washrooms are not that clean.
Faculty: The professors are very helpful and provide enough notes for study. They also recommend books to help with study. Geography is a very good subject, and the practicals are taught very carefully by the professor. Internal exams are not that difficult, to be honest.
Other: For B.Sc. Geography, Asutosh College is one of the best colleges in Kolkata.

It needs a lot of improvement.
Placements: My course has more than 100 students. The highest salary offered is Rs. 80,000 per month and the lowest salary is Rs. 70,000 per month in my course. I am new to this college so I have zero knowledge about the recruiting companies in my course. Roles are offered, and students get internships here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is average. A lot needs to be improved. There should be cleanliness. Classrooms are too small to manage more than 100 students. The college does not provide any Wi-Fi services. Labs are average. I have no idea about the hostel as I do not stay in any hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are educated but less helpful. Often they don't hold classes. Semester exams are very difficult as they include very lengthy papers within a short time. It becomes very difficult to complete such huge questions within this short period of time.
Other: I chose this course because I like it. Nothing is best about this course in this college as the teachers are non-cooperative. Teachers need to be more responsible.
