All about our college.
Placements: To place final-year students in respectable organizations through campus recruitment. To provide industrial training to students during their course of study. To organize lectures, seminars, group discussions, mock interviews, etc., for career guidance, entrepreneurship, and personality development. To provide information and assistance to students regarding job opportunities in India and abroad, opportunities for self-employment, opportunities for higher studies in India and abroad, and competitive examinations like GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, GATE, CAT, etc.
Infrastructure: Our lab facilities are equipped with the most modern equipment, including the Strength of Materials Lab, Survey Lab, Geotechnical Engineering Lab, Transportation Engineering Lab, Concrete Lab, Environment Lab, and Computer-Aided Design and Drafting Lab, etc. The equipment functioning properly is an attractive feature of the labs, allowing students to utilize them for their project work as well. Survey camps are conducted for students outside the college premises every year to improve practical knowledge.
Faculty: Apart from the regular academic activities, our scholars are also nurtured with organizational and interpersonal skills, which enable the growth of managerial capabilities within themselves. To achieve this, a common platform is highly essential where both education and the student community can interact together as a single family, venturing into a diverse range of activities. The intercollegiate tech fest of BMCE is organized every year under unique names. The fest, in association with the six branches, includes a variety of events like auto expo, circuit debugging, paper presentation, project exhibition, and competitions for school-going students, etc., with a little emphasis on fun. The objective of the fest is to bring students of various streams from different institutes onto a common platform where they are encouraged to share knowledge and innovative ideas. It also aims to exhibit the talents and skills of aspiring engineers in both technical and non-technical ways.
Other: The Department has well-equipped laboratories with new high-end machines, sophisticated equipment, and qualified personnel. The department has 9 laboratories with provisions for research activities. It is also well-equipped with computational facilities and includes a computer-integrated manufacturing lab. The Mechanical Engineering Association of the department, MEQNZO, initiates co-curricular and extra-curricular activities for the overall development of students. Numerous initiatives have already been carried out towards the employability of students. The department has signed MoUs with CAD Centre Kollam and Kerala Electrical & Allied Engineering Co. Ltd., which provide exposure to the industry environment.

The infrastructure may not be the best, but one can have a great college life.
Placements: During the 7th semester, we attend pool drives as reputed companies do not visit our campus to offer placements. Majority of the senior batch students were placed in average companies with decent salaries. Internship drives are conducted by the companies related to respective branches during the 5th semester of a batch. The dedicated placement cell works to provide adequate training, skills and placements to the students after graduation.
Infrastructure: Baselios Mathews ll College of Engineering is situated at Sasthamcotta lake accompanied by trees all around and fresh air, and there is a spectacular lake view. The college has a well-maintained basketball, volleyball, football as well as badminton courts. Libraries with digital library function provide additional knowledge to the students apart from thousands of books. Well-painted and furnished classrooms are available with platforms for teachers. A canteen is available on the campus, and it provides fresh breakfast and lunch along with snacks. These are always a favourite part to the students on the campus. Boys' hostel is available within the campus while girls' hostels are located in a few kilometres away.
Faculty: The college has faculty members with adequate knowledge and experience. In the mechanical department, 3 out of 4 faculty members are well trained and experienced. They use usual teaching methods along with PPT presentations. Industrial exposure was provided only during internships and industrial visits.
Other: A technical fest and cultural fest are conducted every year. Along with it, many other festivals like Onam, Christmas, etc., are celebrated.

The college is not up to the mark in any aspect.
Placements: The placements are good for computer science departments. Other companies are not placing students for engineering jobs rather for clerk jobs that may have a package of Rs. 5000 per month or more. The placements are very limited in our college. Others find jobs by themselves.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not a top end one. It is good but not adequate for an engineering college campus. The surrounding is good with a great lake view of Sasthamcotta lake. It is one of the biggest freshwater lakes in India. Overall, the facilities are average and can be accepted.
Faculty: The faculty are the heart of every professional institution, and our college is well-equipped with great teachers who have a lot of experience in their specified streams. Our faculty members are very helpful and support the students in a better way. I like almost every class.
Other: Techfests are good, campus is average compared to other campuses around.

Great college even though it lacks what other colleges have, infrastructure is not that great.
Placements: Our college has a great placement opportunity offered to IT segments. Most companies from this segment come to our college to choose there candidates. Other departments like applied instrumentation has more opportunities for placement. 30%of students were placed last year. Efficiency of placement cell is very high as it provides support to even promote new entrepreneurs also.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not as great as to be mentioned. Its a massive structure without a good atmosphere for a college. College has a wide number of skilled faculty members who guide us through our academics. Labs and classrooms are not very great, but still its okay. Food available in the canteen is typically south Indian dish.
Faculty: Teaching is good and helpful for easy understanding. The strict management also ensures that the students are getting better knowledge every day. Student to faculty ratio is about 60:2. Industrial exposure is given by providing internships at various industries around the college. Industrial relationships are maintained by the college in bringing out the best students out of the college with industrial exposure.
Other: Campus technical fest and cultural fests are great.

The review of Baselios Mathews II College of Engineering.
Placements: The placement is not good. Only IT companies are coming. They will conduct personal interviews, tests, other things and about 20 percent of the students will get placements. No other companies like mechanical, civil are coming. You can come for studies and don't come for placements to this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good. There are three buildings and canteens are inside the campus. Good workshops are available here. Different kinds of labs are there for electrical, mechanical, civil, electronics and communication, electronics and instrumentation and computer science.
Faculty: All are the faculty members completed M.Tech of various branches. Their teaching is very good they will conduct extra classes on exam time as it is very good for students for their studies. The colleges are giving good attention to study, and there are numbers of students who university ranks.

This college gives you freedom, but it has poor infrastructure, poor faculty and placements.
Placements: The placement from our college was very poor. Only, a few percent of students get placed on different companies. The placements, especially for this branch, is very poor. Not many companies will come here for placement. Mostly, not much famous are coming here for placement, and only a very few students are getting in placed under big company names. Overall, the placement is very poor.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is also not much good. Currently, there is only one block working for the entire department, and there is no separate block for different branch students. The structures are too old, and proper maintenance are not done. The paintings were done at the time of construction after that nothing is done. Only, the positive point is that the college has a synthetic volleyball court and a basketball court at the college front side and a badminton court inside the campus. Overall, the infrastructure is poor.
Faculty: The faculty members have the good academic background, but many them lacks in the responsibility, and some are not even students friendly, while others are very much student friendly. There is both good and bad type of faculty members. The syllabus is completed according to the time of period.

Other: The college provides good facilities, the campus atmosphere is good and the college is nearby the Sasthamcota Lake, it is a place of scenic beauty. I studied in mechanical department, compared to other departments we enjoyed the maximum freedom. It was an awesome college experience.
