B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2025
4.0
Absolutely a good college with lots of experiences.
Placements: More than 80 percent of students are getting placed every year. The package ranges from 1.5 LPA to 7 LPA. 6D Technology, Aremia Soti, etc. are the top recruiting companies. Internship opportunities are also provided by the college and more than 50 percent of students got internships.
Infrastructure: All the departments are providing practical sessions but it must be improved much more. The food and accommodations are also fine in the hostel. The hostel fees are around 50,000 per year and for this price, it's okay. Medical insurance is also provided for the students, faculty members and staff of the college .
Faculty: All the teachers are well trained and most of them are Ph.D. qualified, while the rest are M.Tech graduates. The course curriculum is relevant and the classes are going well. Exams are a little bit difficult, but they can be cracked with hard work. Difficulty mainly occurs while cracking core subjects but theory papers can be easily cracked.
Other: Personally, I am interested in machines learning and it's working so I chose mechanical engineering as my core. Events and fests are superb and they must be experienced at least once. Scholarships are also provided, such as those from Egrantz, NSP, etc.

It is a privilege to spend 4 years in munnar and it will cherish your memories.
Placements: Around 40% of graduates were placed for the top recruiting companies like Infosys, IBM, Wipro, 6D developers, Ashok Leyland, etc. The average salary package they provide is about 3-4 LPA. By pursuing B.Tech in mechanical engineering, the student can be able to understand every aspect of the course in a befitting manner to the mentors. The students will acquire ample knowledge in Autocad software is an advantage of modern industrial applications.
Infrastructure: Well-organized labs, library, praying area, and playgrounds (both indoor and outdoor) are the main attractions. Wi-Fi can be accessed from anywhere on the college premises. The weather gives freshness and cool.
Faculty: This college is under Kerala technical university which is a premium university in Kerala. Every semester comes with two mid-term exams and a final semester exam. The syllabus is understandable and manageable and covers every angle of Mechanical Engineering. The pass percentage is almost more than 70%. The syllabus is constructed in such a way that the student can be able to work in a firm effortlessly.
Other: The advice for the people who are going to pursue a bachelor's in mechanical engineering is that focus on the practicals rather than theory to acquire knowledge to apply it in the work-life.

I am satisfied with this college.
Placements: There are only a few placements for the mechanical branch. Many companies like 6D, Infosys, and Wipro are coming here for placements, but the chances for mechanical students are very low. In 2015, there was only one student who got a placement in a company. It is hard to get a job as a mechanical student.
Infrastructure: A Wi-Fi facility is available at the college but not in the hostel. The classrooms and library are well-structured with a good atmosphere. The quality of hostel food is not good. Medical facilities are available here. We have a ground near the college for sports and games.
Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Their teaching qualities are very good. The course curriculum is relevant and makes the students industry-ready. The exams are not very difficult. The pass percentage is around 40%, though higher marks are needed for higher studies.

I am dissatisfied with the faculty and it has worst placements.
Placements: Placements are not good. After passing out in the first class I am still jobless. I recommend looking at other colleges. There are no experienced teachers for taking engineering subjects. I don't like the placement officer. He wasn't supportive.
Infrastructure: During our course, there wasn't any hostel. They rented a 2-star motel and made it into a hostel. It is the worst hostel and college. The course period was for 4 years. Our first-year hostel was good, and 2nd year to 4th year was the worst and unhealthy. There is no Wi-Fi, the labs are worst, the classrooms and environment are good, and the library is fine. Quality of food served in the hostel is good. I haven't seen sports and games.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful. But there are some others who are not experienced ones. I have studied myself by finding notes myself. The course curriculum is not relevant and it doesn't make students industry-ready. Exams are conducted by Kerala University and it is the toughest university in India after IIT.

It is the best-suited college to develop quality engineers with a lot of commitment and Knowledge.
Placements: More than 40% of the students got placed till now. Many more placements are provided in the last semester. The highest salary package offered is 8.5 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 3.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies like TCS, 6d Technologies, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Jaro, etc., visit our campus for placements. Top roles like project engineer, marketing executive, digital lead, software engineer, AI developer and AI researcher are offered to the students. For merit students seat, they charge Rs. 35,000 per year and for NRI students they charge Rs. 75,000 Per year. The college does not provide an internship directly. As it is a part of academics students have to find out internships, which will be fully supported by the college. Almost all students will do at least 1 internship during their academics. Mechanical students did an internship in companies like Kerala RTC, ISRO, Midas Mileage Treads, EMC Kerala, etc.
Infrastructure: The college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, canteen, classrooms, central library, fully equipped labs, stationery shop and sports grounds. There is a separate hostel available for each batch students with the ability to provide accommodation for all the students. Since it is a high altitude place, you need not have to bother about hot climate. It always has a chilled climate with the best natural sceneries. The menu for mess is actually made by students and need to be permitted by the warden. There is 24x7 security available, and the quality of the food served is the best. Since it's a tourist destination, you will have a range of shops as well as options for part-time jobs.
Faculty: It is a government college. Professors in our college are of such qualification as well as quality. They all are strictly taken according to the rules and regulations by AICTE. The course curriculum is relevant. The college is affiliated to Kerala Technological University, which is a university formed to give course curriculum based on industrial requirements. You will be industrially trained.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is my passion to be a mechanical engineer. The best thing about this course is that you will expose more to practical experiments rather than lecturers. I wish the college provide more time to do an internship. It has an organisation named MESTAS, which conducts many events and fests like Colloquium NXG, Kaizen, etc. ASME students chapter is available in the college. The campus is environment-friendly. It has the best and beautiful campus.

This college provide better atmosphere for students.
Placements: Placement cells are present in Munnar, but the number of students placed is less. Placement in Munnar Engineering College is very poor. The placement officer is not efficient. Students who studied had many backlogs. Due to that, the chance of getting placed is too low. Our 2016 to 2020 batch had about 150 plus students. About 10 students were placed.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is just holding for the course. There are no efficient labs. The facilities are not that much used. There is no free Wi-Fi. Classrooms are okay. The library is also good. I have studied mechanical engineering, and we students have to study by ourselves.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful. All are qualified but not very experienced. Their teaching quality is just okay. The course curriculum is not that relevant. And, it doesn't make students industry-ready. Semester exams are good because we have to study by ourselves. The pass percentage is quite average.

It is a nice college. Teaching is also good.
Placements: Mechanical Department placements are really low. But in other branches, placement is really good. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Kairali structural fabrication, and 6D technology offer the highest packages. Companies like Hexaware Technologies, Sutherland, IMMCO Inc., etc., offer average packages. Companies like Byjus Learning App, Carestack, etc. offer fewer packages. In our college, the top recruiting companies include Infosys, Wipro, 6D Technologies, Kailari Structural Fabrication PVT Ltd, and others. 90% of students in our class got internships in different companies such as HMT, Cochin Shipyard, KSRTC Kottayam, Maruthi Suzuki, etc. The top role offered in our course is that of a graduate trainee.
Infrastructure: Lack of equipment in the mechanical lab The hostel is also good in terms of rooms and toilets. The food is also average in the mess. but not costly. The classroom is nice, but the Wi-Fi facility is there. Wi-Fi is for teachers only. The library is fantastic.
Faculty: Teachers in the mechanical department are very knowledgeable and very friendly to students. They are qualified too. They are really dedicated to getting their students a good grades. KTU University's curriculum is okay. The curriculum does not help the students become industry-ready. So an internship is needed for the students to become industry-ready. The semester's exams are not that difficult.
