BITS Goa campus, summary.

Placements: 99.95% people were placed. Those sitting for it's placements had a record selection of (219 /220) with minimum package INR 6 Lacs. Median 24 Lacs package. Average package isINR 26 Lacs. The highest package offered is INR 45 Lacs. Top companies are JPMC, PWC, Uber, Amazon, Flipkart, Phonepay, Arcesium, Attlassian.

Infrastructure: Hostels are well maintained. Wi-Fi buffers sometimes, but LAN net is great. The mess food is also okay. There are 3 mess in the hostel. 1st year people have 2-seater rooms. 2nd year onwards solo rooms are there. There is a common room with TT, Carrom and TV.

Faculty: At times, there are too many evaluations. Some courses need restructuring. Some courses are very interesting and taught by very passionate faculty members. Typically a course has a mid semester exam, final sem exam, 2 quizzes, 1-2 assignments, sometimes surprise quiz or attendance .

Other: This is a unique programme offered only at BITS, where you can pursue a BE Degree and an M.Sc degree simultaneously. The college cultural fest Waves is one the most popular college fests in India. There are a lot of non-academic co-curricular activities, poetry, robotics, dramatics, developers society, dance, music sports etc.

It has a good infrastructure and peer culture.

Placements: Almost 100% of applied students get placed every year. BITS Goa is known for its coding culture. IT placements are top-notch. Finance placements are also too good. Roles like SDE, investment banker, quantum finance, risk management, etc., are offered here. Core placements are also good but not as good as IT and finance. Top recruiting companies in IT like Apple, Amazon, Google, Adobe, etc., visit the college for placements. Companies in finance like JPMC, GS, DE Shaw, etc., visit the college for placements. In core courses, companies like Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, etc., visit the college for placements. The average salary package offered in CS was 24 LPA in the previous year. The average salary package offered in the core is 18 LPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is world-class. The library is one of the best libraries in India. There are new lecture theatres with world-class infrastructure. Labs are of standard. Wi-Fi is available nearly throughout the campus, d the speed is around 25-30 Mbps. New classrooms are good, but the old classrooms are of comparatively old standards. The food served is decent and better among other institutes in India. There are many eateries where you can eat. The medical center is always open, but the pharmacy is not open all the time. The student activity center is well maintained and up to standards with games like squash, badminton, TT, and carrom. It also has a prayer room. There are football grounds, cricket grounds, basketball courts, a volleyball net, and a tennis court.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are good. They are highly qualified. Most of them are PhD holders and have experience for a long time. They are helpful in any regard. They help you with academics or any other help you need. They take out their precious time to guide students. The course curriculum is well-designed with proper weightage to quizzes, labs, mid-semester exams, and comprehensive exams. Most of the courses are relevant to the industry, but some are not. Semester exams are moderately difficult.

Review of BITS Pilani - Goa Campus.

Placements: Our course is an up program whose value has been on the rise since its inception. In the previous year, the highest salary package offered was worth 70 LPA, and the average salary package offered was about 17 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was worth 6 LPA. The college had a 95% placement which is outrageous. Students who had B.Tech+M.Sc eco had generally higher salary packages than those with just B.Tech ( for the same course).

Infrastructure: BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa campus has just made a new hostel (Dome D) for freshers. It is huge, and has double occupancy. It is properly ventilated. Unlike older IITs and BITS Pilani campuses, the hostels are in very good condition, with common washrooms for students. The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled with each person getting a 5 GB limit. The library on the campus is astonishing. We have an all-night canteen ( closed now due to covid but it will get open in some time), the mess is better than most. There are huge grounds, for outdoor facilities and great indoor facilities like TT table, pool table, etc.

Faculty: First year will be uniform for all students throughout all 3 campuses of BITS. It can be a bit difficult to adjust in the beginning, but as BITS has a no attendance policy, it helps the students to take a break once in a while. It is almost understandable that not every teacher is going to be amazing, but the faculty is helpful, some might be more good than others but overall it is great. In the following years, we will have a total of 8-11 months of work experience (off-campus programs) which helps the student be ready for real-life experiences. Semester exams are going to be difficult or easy depending on how you studied for them. My advice would be to keep it mid-level during the by year and then pick up the pace near exams.

I am absolutely satisfied, but the college is a bit costly.

Placements: Overall, the placements for non-core branches are decent here. The placements for IT are very good, and many reputed firms like Google, Microsoft and Amazon recruit many students. From core electronics, Nvidia and Texas Instruments hire. From the finance sector, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Nomura, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, etc., and firms like Flipkart, Adobe, etc., visit here. This time, even BCG visited here.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good here, and there is Wi-Fi in the hostel, mess and academic block. The library is very good and is open until 2:00 am at night. The quality of food served is decent, and vegetarian and non-vegetarian food are separately served. The breakfast is very good, and every day something different food items are included on the menu.

Faculty: The faculty members are very knowledgeable and capable of solving all the doubts. The course curriculum is relevant, and for finance, the syllabus helps even in exams like CFA and FRM. The exams are normal, and if students give their minimum effort, they pass. It is relative grading, and the grade is given accordingly.

Other: Fests are one of the best in India. The best part is economics that we get to explore a very good subject along with engineering, and it adds value.

No, you will not be eligible for BITSAT as for the entrance, you need to be of Science background with PCM compulsory as this is an engineering entrance. So sorry for you. Good Luck for the future.
