Candidates must satisfy at least one of the following two criteria with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects in the year of first appearance in the Class 12th (or equivalent examination): Candidate must have passed class 12th (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects with the mentioned marks in aggregate (The aggregate marks for PwD candidates should be at least 65%). OR Candidate must have passed class 12th (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and be within the category-wise (category as per the central list) top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class 12th (or equivalent) board examination. Other mandatory Criteria: Candidate should have appeared for the Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Candidates who had appeared in Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in 2023 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2025, irrespective of the combination or number of subjects attempted/offered. Candidates wishing to get into BTech course of IIT Bombay have to qualify for JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. The selected candidates based on JEE score are allotted seat through JoSAA Counselling. No, it’s not compulsory for regular scholars to stay in the hostel for studying at IIT Bombay. Also, not every student gets a hostel facility.
