BITSAT Counselling Dates 2026: Complete Round-wise Iteration Schedule

The BITSAT 2026 examination process has moved into the counselling phase. Candidates who appeared for BITSAT and meet the eligibility requirements must participate in the BITS Pilani admission process to secure a seat in B.E., B.Pharm., M.Sc. programmes offered at the Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses.

BITSAT Counselling Dates 2026: BITS Pilani conducts the BITSAT 2026 counselling process in multiple rounds. The BITS Pilani campuses conducts a separate counselling process as it does not participate in the JoSAA counselling. Admission is offered through multiple rounds of seat allotment known as iterations. Candidates are allotted seats based on their BITSAT score, Class 12 marks eligibility, and programme preferences submitted during counselling.

What is the BITSAT Preference Form?

The preference form is an important part of the admission process. Candidates must enter:

• Class 12 marks
• Campus preferences
• Branch preferences
• Personal and academic details

The order of preferences plays a major role in seat allotment. BITS Pilani considers the highest possible preference available according to a candidate’s score and seat availability. 

How Does BITSAT Seat Allotment Work?

BITS Pilani conducts multiple admission iterations. In every iteration:

• Candidates are considered based on merit.
• Seats are allotted according to submitted preferences.
• Selected candidates must pay the admission fee before the deadline.
• Candidates may receive an upgraded branch or campus in later iterations if higher preferences become available.
• Students who do not receive a seat immediately may remain on the waiting list and can be considered in subsequent rounds.  

Documents Required for Admission

Candidates should keep the following documents ready:

• BITSAT 2026 scorecard
• Class 10 mark sheet
• Class 12 mark sheet
• Transfer Certificate
• Migration Certificate (if applicable)
• Passport-size photographs
• Valid photo identity proof
• Category-related documents (if applicable)
• Original documents will be verified during the admission process.  

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

To be considered for admission, candidates must satisfy the BITS Pilani eligibility requirements.

• For B.E. programmes, candidates generally need:
• Minimum 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12.
• At least 60% marks individually in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
• A valid BITSAT 2026 score.
• Meeting the eligibility criteria is mandatory even if a candidate secures a high BITSAT score.  

What Happens After Iteration 1?

After the first allotment result on June 20, candidates will have to decide whether to accept the offered seat and complete the fee payment process. Those who remain in the admission process can still be considered for upgrades in future iterations based on seat vacancies and merit rank.

BITSAT 2026 counselling is now underway, and candidates should carefully complete their preference forms and regularly check the official admission portal for updates. With the preference form deadline extended to June 3 and the edit window postponed, students have received some additional time to finalize their choices. The first admission iteration is expected on June 20, making the coming days crucial for aspirants seeking admission to BITS Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses.
