BITS Pilani conducts its counselling process separately and does not participate in JoSAA counselling. Admission is offered through multiple rounds of seat allotment known as iterations. Candidates are allotted seats based on their BITSAT score, Class 12 marks eligibility, and programme preferences submitted during counselling.

BITS Pilani is conducting the BITSAT 2026 counselling online. Candidates can refer to the round-wise counselling dates for BITSAT 2026 on this page. The authorities conduct the online counselling in multiple iteration rounds for admission to B.E., B.Pharm., and integrated M.Sc. programmes offered at the Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses.

BITSAT 2026 Counselling Schedule, Process, Documents

BITSAT Counselling Dates 2026: The authorities conduct the BITSAT counselling as a centralised admission process for Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad campuses. There are 6 rounds of BITSAT counselling. If seats remain, there will be a 7th round as well. The BITSAT 2026 Iteration 3 result will be announced tomorrow. Candidates who are allotted a seat have to complete the fee payment as per the deadline specified by the authorities.

Candidates can log in to the portal to check the admission offer or wait-list status. For this, students must use the new set of credentials sent on their email address. BITS Pilani offers admission to eligible candidates strictly on the basis of their BITSAT scores and programme preferences submitted during counselling. The first withdrawal window has already concluded, while the second window will be offered after round 3 counselling.

What is the BITSAT Preference Form?

The preference form is an important part of the admission process. Candidates must enter:

  • Class 12 marks
  • Campus preferences
  • Branch preferences
  • Personal and academic details

The order of preferences plays a major role in seat allotment. BITS Pilani considers the highest possible preference available according to a candidate’s score and seat availability.

Q:   What is the BITSAT 2026 counselling date?
A: 

BITSAT 2026 counselling process will start after the result is announced. For selection into the courses offered by the participating campuses, the students will have to participate in the BITSAT counselling process. During the counselling, the students will have to submit their preferences and pay the fee for allotment.

Q:   What is the BITSAT 2026 result date?
A: 

BITSAT 2026 result will be released a few weeks after the exam concludes. While the students will be able to check their scores immediately after the exam ends, the moderated scores will be released through the result. For every exam session, the results will be announced.

Q:   What is the choice filling process in BITSAT counselling?
A: 

During BITSAT counselling, students will have to select their preferences. List of courses and campuses has to be submitted online in order of preference. Students should make choices carefully since it will be considered for admission.

Q:   Is the category certificate necessary for BITSAT counselling?
A: 

Students who are applying through reservation will have to submit their category certificate. If they fail to submit certificate, then they will not be allowed to take admission through reservation quota. Students have to keep their documents ready for verification.

BITS Pilani conducts multiple admission iterations. In every iteration:

  • Candidates are considered based on merit.
  • Seats are allotted according to submitted preferences.
  • Selected candidates must pay the admission fee before the deadline.
  • Candidates may receive an upgraded branch or campus in later iterations if higher preferences become available.
  • Students who do not receive a seat immediately may remain on the waiting list and can be considered in subsequent rounds.

Q:   Is there a direct admission scheme in BITSAT counselling?
A: 

Students who are 12th standard board toppers are eligible for direct admissions through BITSAT counselling. These students do not require a BITSAT score and will be eligible based on their board exam performance. Basic eligibility criteria has to be met.

Q:   Is the counselling process centralized for all BITS campuses?
A: 

Yes. There will be no separate counselling process for the different BITS campuses. Students will have to participate in the centralized counselling for admissions into their preferred campuses. The list of preferences have to be submitted during counselling for allotment.

To be considered for admission, candidates must satisfy the BITS Pilani eligibility requirements.

  • For B.E. programmes, candidates generally need:
  • Minimum 75% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12.
  • At least 60% marks individually in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • A valid BITSAT 2026 score.
  • Meeting the eligibility criteria is mandatory even if a candidate secures a high BITSAT score.  

What Happens After Announcement of Iteration?

Candidates have to decide whether to accept the offered seat and complete the fee payment process. Those who remain in the admission process can still be considered for upgrades in future iterations based on seat vacancies and merit.

To get admission to the BE course at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus, students are required to appear in BITSAT. As per previous years' cutoff stats, it has been analysed that the minimum scores are between 230 and 250. But with 250 marks, the chances are less of getting selected.
