Love BITS Pilani. Academics are tiring, but a great college to be in.
Placements: About 85% of the students in our course are placed. The rest generally go for further studies or end up doing something else. The highest package is offered by TRC, which was upwards of Rs. 2 crores, whereas the average package goes around 22-28 LPA. Top recruiters for my course, which is an integrated M.Sc. Economics are finance-related companies such as JPMC or Goldman Sachs. Almost all the students get internships due to the PS model in BITS Pilani.
Infrastructure: All the infrastructure related to academics is very well built and maintained. We have a huge, beautiful library and a lot of other facilities. Facilities for various sports such as Tennis, Hockey, Basketball, Football, Snooker, and various other sports, including the common ones, are available. The hostel and mess are not that great, but they serve well enough for all the students and are well-maintained.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and teach really well. Even though the curriculum is very interesting, the only thing is that academics are a little hard and take up a lot of time. The exam levels in mid-semester and end-semester are pretty difficult, and even the average goes high because of a lot of really smart students on campus.
Other: The reason I chose this course is that I am personally interested in finance, but I also wanted to do engineering. This course provided me with both, as it is a dual degree. There are events going on almost every week. We have three major fests, Apogee, Oasis, and BOSM. All the fests are really fun, and there is enough room for a lot of fun activities.

Summer internships are amazing.
Placements: More than 30% students from our campus got placed in finance companies with top recruiters like JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, DE Shaw, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, etc. The highest packages go up from 50 LPA for economics and finance to as high as 1 crore for CS with average being 15 LPA for economics and finance and 25 LPA for CSE. Summer internship is top notch with students going to USA, London, Japan, Taiwan, etc. with the highest stipend being 30 lakhs for 2 months.
Infrastructure: The campus is very decent with top quality labs for various departments. All the classrooms are air-conditioned with smart boards and excellent Wi-Fi speed. The campus also has a library with a capacity of 2000 students. Hostels in campus are pretty well maintained with double and single occupancy rooms. There are a total of 14 hostels of which one hostel is for girls (its pretty big though).
Faculty: Faculty members are good and the course curriculum isrelevant.
Other: The grading is bits is usually a lot difficult as it is relative. In some courses like electrical, out of 200 marks, the average marks will be 50 (approximately) and for scoring 50 you get C or B but it depends on instructor. On the other hand, in courses like economics, there is lot of competition and also the course is easy so for a typical course of 200 marks the average will be 130 approximately and for scoring 130 you get a C/B- depending on instructor.

It provides good placements, but the grading system is not good.
Placements: Placements record remain stellar. Most students sitting for placements get placed in a decent company. The average salary package offered is around 13 LPA, while the maximum domestic salary package offered is 40 LPA. There is a system of practice school which gives students industry experience.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is beautiful. Although it is Pilani there is not much to do outside the campus. Wi-Fi is a big issue in this college. The weather is also extreme. It gets extremely cold in winters and extremely hot in summers. Mess is decent at best. There is affordable food on campus which provides food late at night also.
Faculty: There is a zero attendance policy, but the grading system is one of the worst ones in the country. College follows a relative grading system where the grade is given at averages. Most courses give 6 points or sometimes even a CAT average, and making grading is very hard.

Review of Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
Placements: Placements are quite decent in BITS Pilani. Almost every top company visits here for recruitment. There are numerous opportunities in IT, finance, non-core and core domains. The average salary package offered is also good. But students should not be completely dependent on the institute for good placements as, in the end, it all depends on your skills and CGPA.
Infrastructure: Hostels and other infrastructure are good enough here. The quality of food served is decent and much better than any other colleges or IITs, from what I have heard.
Faculty: Faculty members here are as good as any other tier 1/2 college except for some professors who are exceptionally good in their fields. To make students industry-ready, BITS has a system of practice school-1 and 2, which is a 2-month internship programme at the end of the 2nd year and a complete semester in the final year. Scoring a good CGPA is not easy, and students have to make sufficient efforts to excel in the competitive environment. Course structure and evaluative component are designed considering that it doesn't expect students to study day and night. Students can study 1-2 weeks before the exams.

BITS Pilani is awesome. Absolutely satisfied with the infrastructure, faculty and placements.
Placements: Almost everyone who wanted a job got a job. Top recruiting companies in finance were JP Morgan Chase, Nomura, Credit Suisse. Internship/Thesis is a part of the course curriculum. Some people opt for thesis while others go for internship. Many companies offered PPOs after the internship.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good, air-conditioned classrooms and labs are there. Almost all the hostels have been renovated. Mess food quality is excellent. All night canteen is there. Facilities for playing sports like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Hockey, etc. Are also there. In-campus hospital is also there.
Faculty: Teachers are good, qualified and helpful. They are very knowledgeable. Course curriculum is very much as required in the industry, though focus on research is somewhat less. Some subjects like Indian Economy, History of Economic Thoughts may be added.

It is a good college with good infrastructure and has all the facilities.
Placements: In 2019 there was 100% placement in our Course specifically M.Sc. Economics (Hons) + BE computer science. Exact data is not provided, but the average salary package offered in placement was around 15-20 LPA. The highest salary package offered was 98 LPA by Uber US the lowest salary package offered was between 10-12 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Deshaw, Uber, etc., visited the campus. Almost 100% of internships were offered by companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Facebook, Uber, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is very good with around 15 Mbps speed. Labs are good structured, and classrooms are huge. Labs and classrooms are centralised air-conditioned. Desk and chair are good and strong. The library is best, and it is 2nd largest in India and has wonderful collections of all types of books and well organised with a perfect system. Sports facilities are very good different grounds for a different sport is available. Mess food is also a good and different menu for every day and canteen is also a decent one.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, very helpful and highly knowledgeable. Teaching quality is the best. The course curriculum is highly relevant, and it is perfectly structured, and the environment and course structure together make students industry-ready. The course is designed in students friendly nature, and it has all the details and students can study according to it.
Other: I have chosen this course because it was very appealing to me, and its course content is also very interesting, and its placements are also decent. I don't think anything would be better than this. Almost 3 major events are conducted 1 sports fest named Bosm, 1 cultural fest named Oasis and 1 technical fest named Apogee. Campus crowd is perfect, it is what freshers expect for, and It is very competing. Connectivity is difficult but manageable. Campus surrounding is also good. Institute provides two types of scholarship merit and merit cum need (MCN). There are many clubs and departments covering mostly all the extracurricular activities and also sports teams.

It is probably one of the best colleges in India. There are a lot of opportunities available here.
Placements: Placements in our college are decent. Placements are good for the students of all the circuit branches. The average salary package offered was 14 LPA, and they try to provide placement opportunities for the students of the core branches like mechanical and chemical etc. The average salary package offered is 7 LPA. However, the placement unit does very well at times and brings a lot of companies. Our college offers paid internships. PS II available here is very good, and it offers PPOs.
Infrastructure: The campus is old but beautiful. The climate conditions are extreme in both the summer and winter seasons. There is no temperature modulation system available in older buildings, and so this makes it tough for students at times. However, new buildings and hostels have AC ducts. Old hostels are equipped only with fans. The campus is getting renovated, and they are renovating every building one after the other. The campus is huge, so we use cycles to commute on the campus. Our college also offers sports and food facilities. The food offered in the canteen is very good compared to other colleges.
Faculty: Faculty members in the electrical and electronics departments are excellent. Our faculty members are also good in computer science and biology departments. I have heard that the finance and economics departments are the best at the Hyderabad campus. They are very interactive and are always approachable. There are no issues faced here.
Other: The campus life is very vibrant. You can live in the way of your interest. The people around you are diverse, brilliant and sweet.

Good placements, very effective elective system and the internship system, improving infrastructure.
Placements: Each year, placements in BITS Pilani are conducted in both the semesters. The college provides an option to all the students, in their final year, to either sit for placements in the first semester, doing the internship in the second or vice-versa. This year was the placement year for my batch. Placement season was a little weak this year compared to other years. Even when the on-campus recruitment window is about to close, some 16% students are still unplaced. Talking about the highest and lowest packages, they depend from branch to branch. The highest package in core branches was around 30 LPA (lakhs per annum) and the lowest was 8 LPA. Analytics and consulting (C&A) companies offered jobs of around 4 to 11 LPA. The average package of my batch was around 7 LPA. Obviously, the majority companies offered IT and C&A jobs, and core companies for other streams were a hand pick. Microsoft, Amazon, PayTM, Qualcomm, Mathworks, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, VMWare, HDFC, PlaySimple, PWC, Bank of America and Dell are a few of the companies that came for campus recruitments. Each branch in the college has two mandatory internships as part of their course structure, which are provided by the college. Apart from this, around 40% students manage to get another internship on their own and end up doing three internships in the duration of their course at the college. Stipends for the second internship vary from INR 10,000 per month to around INR 50,000 per month. Students acquire internships in almost every field right form IT to consulting to research.
Infrastructure: After the recent renovation that has been carried out, the campus has become very scenic. There are around 15 hostels in the campus for boys and girls separately. The whole campus is not WiFi-enabled. Although, each hostel room has its own LAN connection. There are computer labs too where one can use the Internet. The faculty divisions of the institute have the departments and the classrooms. Advanced labs for each department allow students to get experimental knowledge in their subjects and also, many labs are undergoing renovation as we speak. Sports facilities here are great with separate fields for basketball, football, hockey and cricket and courts for lawn tennis and badminton. Also, a well-equipped gym and a swimming pool are provided here. Students can join clubs for any of the sports and can get training from professional trainers. There is a mess for every 2 hostels and, surprisingly, the mess food is decent. A lot of other food joints are there in the campus and some of them are open till 3 AM. There is a supermarket called Akshay inside the campus and hence students do not have to go outside the campus for any purchasing. For the first-year students, there are shared rooms of two, and the next year onwards, each student gets his own room. Hostel rooms do not have centralised conditioning. Still, the rooms are comfortable. One issue that I faced here is the lack of medical facilities inside and outside the campus. There is need to improve the infrastructure for medical facilities in the college.
Faculty: BITS Pilani has also been marred by the increasing shortage of dedicated professors in India. But even so, the college has many iconic professors in all the departments and their contributions have been praised over the years. Faculty members here always try to strengthen the student-faculty bond. Because of that, even the zero-attendance rule does not affect the strength of students in the classes. The elective system here allows students to choose subjects of their interest outside their course syllabus. For example, a mechanical student can choose a few subjects of his interest from any of the other branches including computer science, electronics, humanities, finance etc. The inclusion of projects, labs and electives tend to increase the student-faculty interaction. Students are required to make their own time-table by picking their own subject sections and electives, which gives them the freedom to schedule their day according to them. The student-faculty ratio is around 40:1. A subject is taught using two different types of classes, main classes and tutorial classes. The syllabus of the course is taught in the main class and tutorial class is meant for doubt clearing and continuous evaluation, which proved to be very effective. I ended up doing three internships in my five-year integrated course, which gave me plenty of industry exposure. It also helped me decide my career path. The course curriculum is effectively structured to reflect the essence of the course. Also, the syllabus is designed to encourage students to pursue research and, I think, a decent ratio of students does opt for research in higher studies.
