Review of Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi.
Placements: Our college has a low placement rate, but it does not mean it has no placements. From what I have heard, the college offers promising placements, but they are rare. Since I'm in my first year, I don't know much about placements, but I know that placements start from the 2nd or 3rd year.
Infrastructure: The college has free Wi-Fi, and the college library also has free Wi-Fi. Our college has 3 canteens, and all classrooms are overall in nice condition. The only problem is the unavailability of AC in some classes, which makes it hard in the summer because of the summer heat.
Faculty: Teachers are super helpful. Faculty members are excellent in this college. Teachers are friendly and available. They are there to guide us whenever we need them. I think Daulat Ram has one of the best faculty members in the whole DU, and teachers are very friendly.
Other: This course aligns with my interests, so I chose this course. I am preparing for UPSC, so this course will help me in the future. Our college continuously organises events that are fun and good. There are department events, society events, and whole college events. The college also provides protection during events.

Satisfied with the faculty but dissatisfied with infrastructure and lack of resources.
Placements: There are less number of students who are placed from this course since majority companies come for B. Com Economics course. That's why students of other course are not getting any opportunity to utilize their knowledge and skillset, which is barrier in education system.
Infrastructure: Facilities are average I would say. There is Wi-Fi but it's quite small. Computer labs are well-equipped but it's not sufficient to accommodate huge number of students. Canteen and mess serve only veg food but its quality is good. You can sit and relax and take a Nescafe coffee break, there is Nescafe, regular thali, shake and juices, samosas of the canteen is quite good. Other than that, medical facilities are also available. Medical room is well-equipped and there are nurses. Sports and games facilities are also included. Huge ground is provided.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified, knowledgeable and quite helpful. Teaching quality mainly practical learning rather than rote memorization. This course curriculum is quite relevant, one can learn well blended concepts of both Economics and Political Science. The semester exams are not that hard if one prepares thoroughly, have gone through previous PYQs, just need to study the reading and articles.
Other: I choose this course because I wanted to go for civil services. Best thing about my course, if anyone is looking for UPSC preparation, this course will help you thoroughly, your half of the syllabus will be completed. Things I would want to improve is to utilize the human resource this course produce since huge number of graduates are produced every year. The annual fest is known as Manjari which is quite famous among the students. The campus crowd being at the centre of the North campus is full of life, hustle and bustle. Connectivity is quite convenient for the students. Also it provides extracurricular activities like Radio broadcasting and scholarship for underprivileged students.

Active campus life and helpful teachers but average infrastructure.
Placements: I am from B.A. hons political science batch 2025 at Daulat Ram College. In our course, around 40 percent of students get placed. The highest package is around 7 LPA. The lowest is 2 LPA, and average is about 3 LPA to 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Deloitte, Wipro, Genpact, and NGOs like tech for India and PR firms. About 35 percent of students get internships through college in government offices, research organizations, or social work sectors. Top roles offered include policy research intern, content writer, political analyst, and HR assistant.
Infrastructure: Political science department has decent infrastructure. Classrooms are clean and equipped with projectors. Library has a wide range of political science books and journals, and it is very helpful for research. The campus Wi-Fi works most of the time though speed can be slow. The hostel is well-maintained and safe. The mess food is average. Canteen food is better with good variety. Sports and medical facilities are basic but available. Infrastructure is average but functional for daily use.
Faculty: The faculty of political science is experienced and very cooperative. Teachers are knowledgeable and approachable. They explain concepts clearly. The course structure is relevant and keeps students updated with current political events and theories. Exams are moderate in difficult, and conducted on time. The pass percentage is around 90 if students study regularly.
Other: Campus life at Daulat Ram College is active and vibrant. There are many societies like debate, drama, and politics clubs. The annual fest Manjari is full of cultural and musical events. Library and classrooms are peaceful and good for study. The crowd is friendly and helpful. I chose political science because I am interested in governance and social issues. I wish placements were more diverse and infrastructure were more modern. The campus atmosphere is positive and enjoyable.

Top-notch faculty members for political science but infrastructure lags behind.
Placements: Political science hons is not generally offered placements in the internship drive, unlike other courses. The most you can get into is NGO roles or Think Tank. Usually, these roles are unpaid or offer very less stipend in return for lots of work, so usually not advisable.
Infrastructure: About 60% of the classrooms have air-conditioning. But most rooms are too small in capacity. From what I have heard, the hostel is alright in terms of infrastructure. The food is variety and healthy too. We have a large sports complex as well as sports ground where events like fests and sports days take place.
Faculty: This is the best part of pursuing this course from DRC. Faculty members are top-notch, barring only a few teachers here and there. They relate with the students and are friendly, and often great mentors and guides. The curriculum is quite relevant to modern-day underpinnings, and so are the activities. Semester exams are fairly easy and passable with some effort, though internal assessment is difficult and subject to the teacher's expectations.
Other: I am passionate about the intersection of private and political, and hence applied, and haven't been disappointed when it comes to the course or the faculty members. I believe the infrastructure, connectivity, and marketing are some things that DRC can work on. There are multiple value adding and skilling webinars occurring daily for those interested. No earth of extracurricular activities. Great focus on NCC, NSS, and NSO, they are even compulsory in our college.

The truth about Daulat Ram College: A student's perspective.
Placements: Vridhi the placement cell of Daulat Ram helps in placements and also in developing some important skills. The average package is around 5- 6 LPA. Last year, the highest package was 23 LPA. Internships are hard to find for an introvert but you have to explore.
Infrastructure: Okay, so the college infrastructure is not that good compared to other colleges on the campus. The hostel infrastructure is good. Wi-Fi is available in the library only. Classrooms do not have AC except for some classes like G1, G2, and some others. The canteen is average but affordable. A medical room is available. There are opportunities for sports.
Faculty: The faculty is good, qualified, and helpful. Some teachers are not that good at teaching but they are helpful. They send us notes. They help in extracurricular activities. I think the curriculum is not that relevant for practical life like in political science, there are so many theories and theories' names and their books. Semester exams are tough in the 1st semester because you are too new to the exam pattern so you don't know much about time management and how to write in exam.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in political science since 11th grade. When we talk about fests, events, and extracurricular activities, they are so much fun like we have Garba night. It is awesome and mesmerizing. Fests are yet to be. Scholarships are there for those who need them.
