B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science - Batch of 2026
3.4

Good crowd, supportive teachers, but average infrastructure and limited placements.
Placements: I am currently studying B.A. Hons Political Science at Daulat Ram College, and in my batch, placements are honestly not something we depend on. Only around 15 to 20 percent of students from political science get placed, and most opportunities are for commerce or economics students. The highest package for our course goes around five to six LPA, and the lowest stays near two LPA. The average is around three LPA. Internships are more common, with around 40 percent of students getting them mostly in NGOs, think tanks or small companies in roles like content writing, research assistance or campaigning.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is okay, but nothing great. Classrooms are normal, and sometimes fans or projectors do not work. The department library is helpful, but it gets crowded. Wi-Fi works but only in some areas. The college does not have a proper hostel for all students, so most of us stay in PGs around Vijay Nagar, Kamla Nagar or Model Town. The Canteen food is average, not very tasty, but affordable. Sports facilities are fine, and the medical room is available for basic issues.
Faculty: Teachers in the department are mostly helpful and know their subjects well. A few teachers teach very well and make the classes enjoyable, while some are strict. The syllabus under NEP is detailed and relevant if you want to understand politics and public policy. Exams are not too difficult, and if you study regularly, you can pass easily. The pass percentage is high since most students manage to score decent marks.
Other: Campus life at DRC is good. The crowd is mostly girls, and very friendly festivals like Manjari happen around February, and the vibe is nice. Societies are active, and you get opportunities to participate in debates, music, dance and NSS. The college is close to the metro, so connectivity is good. I chose this course because I enjoy studying politics and want to understand how policies work, but I wish the infrastructure were better and more opportunities were provided.

Active campus life and helpful teachers but average infrastructure.
Placements: I am from B.A. hons political science batch 2025 at Daulat Ram College. In our course, around 40 percent of students get placed. The highest package is around 7 LPA. The lowest is 2 LPA, and average is about 3 LPA to 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Deloitte, Wipro, Genpact, and NGOs like tech for India and PR firms. About 35 percent of students get internships through college in government offices, research organizations, or social work sectors. Top roles offered include policy research intern, content writer, political analyst, and HR assistant.
Infrastructure: Political science department has decent infrastructure. Classrooms are clean and equipped with projectors. Library has a wide range of political science books and journals, and it is very helpful for research. The campus Wi-Fi works most of the time though speed can be slow. The hostel is well-maintained and safe. The mess food is average. Canteen food is better with good variety. Sports and medical facilities are basic but available. Infrastructure is average but functional for daily use.
Faculty: The faculty of political science is experienced and very cooperative. Teachers are knowledgeable and approachable. They explain concepts clearly. The course structure is relevant and keeps students updated with current political events and theories. Exams are moderate in difficult, and conducted on time. The pass percentage is around 90 if students study regularly.
Other: Campus life at Daulat Ram College is active and vibrant. There are many societies like debate, drama, and politics clubs. The annual fest Manjari is full of cultural and musical events. Library and classrooms are peaceful and good for study. The crowd is friendly and helpful. I chose political science because I am interested in governance and social issues. I wish placements were more diverse and infrastructure were more modern. The campus atmosphere is positive and enjoyable.

Top-notch faculty members for political science but infrastructure lags behind.
Placements: Political science hons is not generally offered placements in the internship drive, unlike other courses. The most you can get into is NGO roles or Think Tank. Usually, these roles are unpaid or offer very less stipend in return for lots of work, so usually not advisable.
Infrastructure: About 60% of the classrooms have air-conditioning. But most rooms are too small in capacity. From what I have heard, the hostel is alright in terms of infrastructure. The food is variety and healthy too. We have a large sports complex as well as sports ground where events like fests and sports days take place.
Faculty: This is the best part of pursuing this course from DRC. Faculty members are top-notch, barring only a few teachers here and there. They relate with the students and are friendly, and often great mentors and guides. The curriculum is quite relevant to modern-day underpinnings, and so are the activities. Semester exams are fairly easy and passable with some effort, though internal assessment is difficult and subject to the teacher's expectations.
Other: I am passionate about the intersection of private and political, and hence applied, and haven't been disappointed when it comes to the course or the faculty members. I believe the infrastructure, connectivity, and marketing are some things that DRC can work on. There are multiple value adding and skilling webinars occurring daily for those interested. No earth of extracurricular activities. Great focus on NCC, NSS, and NSO, they are even compulsory in our college.

Teachers here are supportive, though the infrastructure is not at par, but the crowd is amazing.
Placements: The placement for specific courses is good. But for my specific course, I haven't seen many people being placed. For courses like Economics and B.Com, people are placed in top companies with a good average package in hand, which is because of the proactiveness of the placement cell.
Infrastructure: Average. The washrooms are clean, but the rooms are limited. Also, the under-construction building has been under construction for years. The rooms are not well maintained, and the campus overall is small, though well maintained. The canteen is okayish.
Faculty: Faculty is supportive overall, and exams and tests are held regularly on time. The curriculum is well-structured, and the faculty is always ready to guide you. The faculty in my specific course is actually good, and they know what exactly they are supposed to teach.

Very good because of faculty and environment.
Placements: Approximately 40 to 50% of students were placed. However, our placement cell is working hard to place students in good companies, and they are bringing in many valuable companies. The highest salary offered was 24 lac, the lowest was 5 lac, and the average salary was 6 lac per annum. Companies that visited our campus include Wipro, KPMG, and ICICI Bank. Approximately 70 to 80% of students got internships from our college in Wipro, NGOs, and other organizations.
Infrastructure: The college has a good library, Wi-Fi, labs, a digital classroom, computer classes, a seminar hall, and an auditorium. The hostel is good, and the food is good enough. The medical facilities are the best in our college, and the sports ground is great.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, well qualified, and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is very good. The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. The course is slightly difficult, and the passing percentage of students in the college is 33%.
Other: I love political science, so I chose to study it at Daulat Ram College. The best thing about my course is that it makes me enthusiastic about learning about the culture and political situation of our surroundings and our nation in detail. However, I think the course should provide more practical knowledge, such as field work. The campus is beautiful, but boys are not allowed. The connectivity, events, campus crowd, surroundings, scholarships, and extracurricular activities are all good.
