No, you cannot get direct admission to the Culinary Academy of India. For admission, you need to clear ALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAM conducted at the Culinary Academy, Hyderabad itself. You have to clear the group discussion and personal interview rounds also.
Admissions to certificate courses in CAI is done based on Class 12th. You should have a minimum of 50% in Class 12th.
Admission to Bachelor’s Degree and PG Diploma courses is given through the All India Entrance Examination held in Hyderabad including the candidate’s performance in GD and PI. Selection of the candidate for admission to the certificate course is done based on his/ her marks obtained in the written test, GD, and PI conducted by the college.

The eligibility criteria for Certificate Course in Basic Culinary Skills programme offered by Culinary Academy of India is:
1. Candidate should be minimum 16 years of age on or before the date of commencement of the course and not more than 25 years (30 years in case of SC & ST candidates).
2. A pass in Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) with English as medium of instruction. Candidates completing SSC in languages other than English should demonstrate competency in English during the selection process.
3. Candidates who have appeared SSC (10th) / X Std.or equivalent examination can also apply but the admission is subject to clearing the qualifying examination.
4. Experience in Food / Culinary industry is recommended but not necessary.
5. The candidate should submit photocopies of all relevant certificates along with the application form.

According to a review by a BCT&CA student, many students got placements on cruise ships and in some of the excellent hotels. The Culinary Academy of India charges Rs. 45,000 per annum as the university-prescribed tuition fee.
