An overview of DAV College, Kanpur for the aspirants who want to go for higher studies.

Placements: There are moderate placements in the college. Companies don't visit the campus as it does not provide the courses like B.Tech or M.Tech. It is affiliated to Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University, Khanpur, situated about around 10 km from the college. The internship courses are provided to the students in particular courses like B.Ed. etc., The complete scholarship is provided for the studies of students by the college committee and UP government.

Infrastructure: The college looks good with the traditional anglo British building standing high. It has huge lecture halls. It has simple and British infrastructure as the college was built in 1919, seems like some glorious old monument situated in a central place of the city in front of green park stadium of Kanpur. A central spot for nearby population. The campus has a library and a separate DAV ground for sports activities. The hostel facility is there for girls only, but since it is a central spot, one can easily get a hostel nearby the college.

Faculty: The faculty members are helpful. Professors are the experts in their particular subject and sincere towards students. Most of them are the prominent names of Kanpur. For B.Sc, it is a 3 years course starting from July and ends in March. A combined mark sheet is provided for all the three years. Many professional courses are also available like BCA, M.Sc., electronics, LL.B. with some other courses like PhD, B.Ed, etc. It is a government college and has the faculty of around 300 for different specialised subjects.

Other: The college campus was quite large and not much crowded. Wi-Fi and other types of wireless facilities are not there on the college campus. The scholarship for students is provided by DAV funding group and UP government. Sports events are organised by the college. It is situated in civil lines in front of the prominent green park stadium nearby central jail Kanpur. It was a market area. Everything from day to day need is easily available in the surroundings. It is situated on the river bank of Ganga and is not so far from Kanpur education hub Kakadeo and IIT Kanpur. So, location wise, it is a good place.

Satisfied with the faculty and campus but placement is not good.

Placements: Actually, there was no placement in graduation. I and some of my friends even tried to form a placement cell but we didn't succeed in our efforts. We talked to the principal, teachers and students unions but there was no response. We contacted a lot of companies but no one wanted to take an action in the college.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not very good. The college is large in area and has a good library. The campus is good as there is a good environment for studying. The classrooms are large and there is an auditorium too. The college is neat and clean and full of plants and trees.

Faculty: The faculty of college is better than other colleges of CSJM University. The teachers are too experienced. The course is quite good. Maybe you won't get a campus placement but the scope of the course is very good as CSJM is a highly appreciated university.
