Dr. D.Y. Patil School of Engineering and Technology offers 10 full-time courses. The school offers UG, PG and Diploma level programmes in affiliation with Pune University. Yes, Dr. D.Y. Patil School of Engineering and Technology offers Diploma in Civil and Mechanical Engineering. The intake for each Diploma course is 60. Candidates who have completed Class 10 can apply for any of the Diploma programme. 

As per the MHT CET exam information brochure, the difficulty level of MHT CET exam is similar to JEE Mains. Candidates are thus advised to prepare by keeping in mind that the questions in MHT CET will be of the same difficulty level as JEE Main. However, the syllabus of MHT CET is very less in comparison to JEE Main. 

NTA has announced the JEE Main 2026 exam date for Session 2. JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam will be held from 2nd April 2026 to 9th April 2026. The JEE Main Application Form 2026 for Session 2 will be available on the website.

If you have 70% in your 12th-grade exams, your chances of getting into Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Engineering and Technology (Dr. DYPIT) depend on the programme you want to join. Generally, 70% is a good score and makes you a competitive candidate.

For the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) B.Tech program, you need at least 70%, but the actual cutoff might be higher because it's a very competitive program.

Other programs might have lower eligibility criteria. For instance, the minimum requirement for the Mechanical Engineering B.Tech programme is 60% in 12th grade.

It's certainly not the right uniform for a college. When I went to school, I didn't see any dress code rules. You're free to dress whatever you want in college, and the campus is very secure as well, which doesn't seem like there should be any trouble with wearing clothing that feels good for yourself.

GATE is the accepted entrance exam for Dr DY Patil School of Engineering and Technology ME admission. Hence, aspirants willing to pursue an ME at the institute must apply through GATE. While applying, they must submit the applicable fees depending on their category.

DYPSOET Pune accepts the exam scores of two entrance exams for providing admission to its BE programme. These exams are JEE Main and Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, commonly known as MHT CET. Instead of an MTech, Dr DY Patil School of Engineering and Technology offers a full-time Master of Engineering (ME). It is a PG-level programme in the field of Engineering. The total course duration is two years. Students can choose among the following three ME streams or specialisations available at the institute:

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR M.Tech AT Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Engineering and Technology:-

• Candidate should be an Indian National.
• Passed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of Engineering and Technology from All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent, with at least 50% marks (at least 45 % in case of Backward class categories and Person with Disability candidates belonging to Maharashtra State only)
• Passed Bachelor Degree in the relevant course of Engineering and Technology as specified in the eligibility criteria for admission to a Post Graduate Degree course of the concerned University for which admission is being sought
• Obtained Non-Zero positive score in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by Indian Institute of Technology.

• For sponsored candidate, minimum two years of full time work experience in a registered firm / company/ industry/ educational and/or research institute / any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is sought.

The GATE 2026 registration is now ongoing at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Candidates can fill out the application form till September 28 (without late fees). The last date to submit the GATE 2026 application form with late fees is October 9. 

Candidates must note that the GATE application form will be made available at the GOAPS portal only. The portal link is now activated. 

After completing Class 12 with relevant subjects, candidates seeking BE admission at Dr DY Patil School of Engineering and Technology must apply for one of the accepted entrance exams, i.e. JEE Main or MHT CET. After appearing for the entrance exams, candidates can follow the below-given steps to complete the admission process:

The cut-off for BE admission at Dr DY Patil School of Engineering and Technology is released in based on the ranks/percentile that applicants must secure to get a BE seat at the institute.
